"Ok. Suit yourself." Lord Fear says back. "So... Is there anything my son, Greed, or I should know about you before you marry him?" "Yes, there is." She replied. "Let Greed know that I hate him, and there's no way I'll be marrying that filthy boy!"
"Oh, I don't think you have a choice." Lord Fear says, pulling out a jar of cookies. "Inside these cookies are the essence of a Maximus Tentaculous, and the person who eats this whole cookie will turn into one of them. This is just a dozen cookies of the many hundreds that we will be giving away. The alchemists, the chefs, and the slaves are hard at work making them. If you marry my son, I will spare your parents and your beloved Temptation from becoming a Maximus Tentaculous."
Joy was about to say no, but she took a step back and thought about it. She really wondered if saving her parents and Temptation would be worth it.
"The choice is yours, Joy." Lord Fear said.
A few seconds later, the door to the sitting room slammed open, and multiple people entered the room.
"ALL OF MY MAXIMUS TENTACULOUS CRYSTALS ARE GONE!" Screamed the alchemist as he burst in. "Then get the slaves to mine for more." Lord Fear said. "My lord, all the slaves have escaped!" A general of a legion said. "Find them all! No one escapes my wrath!" Lord Fear said.
"Oh, by the way, have you seen my hammer? I still can't find it." The alchemist said.
You tell him, Joy! >:3
OHHH. . . now Joy is the one being tempted. . . ! OwO
Joy, now in her wedding dress, had to just wait. She thought about sitting down on the couch, but the large size of the dress made it hard for her to sit down.
This is why I hate these dresses. She thought to herself. She looked around the sitting room and soon stared at the fireplace. There was a mantle on top with some interesting artifacts. She reached up and tried pulling on each of them, but they just lifted away from the mantle as a separate piece.
"There's no secret escape door in this room." A dark voice says behind Joy. She turns around and sees that Lord Fear was standing in the shadows. He walks toward her to where the light of the fireplace brings him into view.
"Hello, Joy. You will make a fine daughter in law." Lord Fear says. "Take a seat." "No, I prefer to stand." Joy says.

1. Rats. 2. Yeah that seems like something they need to know but can't quite get into their heads. 3. Oh... O.O 4. Haha, take that Fear! 5. One of the funniest subplots. XD

Take that, Lord Fear!
How the tables have turned.
Yep. Can't proceed on those cookies without the hammer.

1. Quite well thought out for a sitting room. 2. It might take a few times for it to get stuck inside their head. 3. A tempting offer. 4. Yeah! Let's see what he can do with that. 5. Thanks! That part was funny to add in and it still makes me laugh.
"No, I haven't seen your hammer," Fear retorted sharply. He turned on the general; the other man's face paled as his master glared at him. "How? How did the slaves escape?" "S-- someone got ahold of the keys and freed all of them," the general stammered. "Now all the equipment is destroyed and the buildings out there are burning. They're nowhere to be seen, but I sent scouts to search for them." "Find them. Every last one of them," Fear seethed, clenching his fists. "Nobody can leave my land. If they do. . ." His voice trailed off for a second, then he gestured angrily to the door. "Get out of here. Both of you!" he barked. The general and alchemist scurried out the door, though not without the alchemist muttering something else about his hammer. Lord Fear slammed the doors behind them. A long silence followed. Lord Fear stood with his back to his prisoner, staring grimly at the closed doors. Joy stood by stiffly, feeling her heart flutter anxiously within her chest. Although heat radiated from the fireplace, she felt chilled to the bone. Slowly, Fear turned around and faced her. Eyes cold, he murmured, "So. . . my nephew is helping you." Joy didn't reply. Her mouth felt dry. His lip curled. "I suppose he told you what happened to your parents. And he's probably figured out my plans for the future, and told you that, too." Joy decided not to tell him that the two of them had been hiding nearby when he had monologued his plan to her parents, about overthrowing the king with his monsters. She merely remained silent. He narrowed his eyes at her. Almost to himself, he murmured, "I wonder how you two met. How you gained the advantage over my nephew. I suppose it didn't take much. He's always been weak-minded." He paused in thought, then straightened up and cross his arms. "Well, Miss Joy? What's your decision? Marry my son, and your parents and Temptation will live and be free." Another long silence followed. Finally, Joy summoned the courage to speak. "I don't believe you." She wavered at first, but her courage strengthened as she went on. "You wouldn't give up any of them so easily. You're just lying to get me to marry Greed."
I just spent half an hour working on the next ToD part. And then, just as I finished, I was going to post it, but clicked the wrong button. Now it's all gone. I can't get it back.

Ooh, great part Tigress!
So many mysteries for Lord Fear to finally see, and a very good observation from Joy at the end there.

Excuse me while I go eat some sadness chocolate.
So you rewrote the whole part from memory? That's impressive.

Aww, thank you! ^v^ I actually needed to hear that because I was berating myself for not making this one better. xD
