I'd do it out of my school, with people I already know most likely.
I've seen some FTC teams do it, I think it's probably the most fun like that. That's fairly close to what a Homeschool team looks like.
I was on a homeschool first team.
I can't believe I had the same awful signature for nearly 8 years.

no, EV3. Although, we were one of the last teams to stop using NXT.

Back in my day the RCX was still allowed in FLL and you got a points boost if you used it since the NXT was so much better. I think it was fully phased out and switched over to NXT by 2010 though.
