With Mother's Day and Father's Day coming up in the next two months, I thought I'd do a little something Disney-related to celebrate. The title is self-explanatory.
So here are the rules.
-Think over all the parents in Disney (and Pixar) movies, decide who you think are the two best, and cast your votes.
-Please note that the mother and father you vote for do not even have to be from the same movie, but they can be.
-You can interpret the word "best" however you think. It can be their selflessness, encouragement, love, anything that makes you feel they're worthy of being named the best Disney mother or father.
And that's basically it. Feel free to vote for more than one parent in each category; I may end up announcing the results as a Top 3 type of thing anyway. If you do vote for more than one mother and father, though, please rank them so I know who's your highest votes. Also feel free to talk about why you think who you chose is the best; nothing wrong with a little friendly discussion.
There are no right or wrong answers, obviously. Well, what are you waiting for? Cast your votes!
I'll probably put mine in another post sometime in the future.

*Goes to vote*
*Reads halfway through* So they can be from different films you say..? This'll take a while...

All right, fellow Disney fans! After a lot of debating and careful analyzing pfffft like I take myself that seriously, I have worked down a list of my top three Disney mothers and fathers, with reasons why I chose them. I can't fit them all in one post, so I'll post the mothers and fathers separately. Enjoy.
And believe me, it was hard to get down to just three.
~Mothers~
3. Duchess from The Aristocats. Not only does she teach her kittens how to paint and sing and play the piano, but she also gives her all to protect them after they're dropped in a strange place.
2. Queen Eleanor from Brave. Her daughter literally turns her into a bear, and she still loves her. She may not always see things the same way Merida does, but by the end of the movie, she's learned to put aside their differences to understand her daughter. And even when they have a disagreement, she's always there for her.
1. Kala from Tarzan. After losing her own child, Kala adopts Tarzan and raises him as if he were her own. He has a lot of self-doubt trying to fit in with his adopted family of gorillas, who wouldn't right but Kala always assures him that she loves him and that all he will ever need to be is himself.
"Close your eyes. Now forget what you see. What do you feel?" ~Kala "My heart." ~Tarzan "Come here." ~Kala "Your heart." ~Tarzan "See? We're exactly the same." ~Kala

It's time to follow up my post on my top 3 mothers, with the one about my top 3 fathers. Since it wouldn't fit in the other post.
~Fathers~
3. James from The Princess and the Frog. He spent every day working hard to take care of his family, and always reminded Tiana of what was important in life. Though he never really got to see it, he knew that someday his daughter would make their shared dream a reality.
2. Marlin from Finding Nemo. Sure, he’s a bit overprotective, but can you blame him? Nemo is the only one he’s got left in the world, and he’s not about to lose him. As quiet and cautious as he is, he puts all that aside and sets out on a journey across the entire ocean to find his son, and won’t give up until he does. And by the end of the movie he also learns to trust Nemo, earning him the same trust in return.
1. Mufasa from The Lion King. Not only is he one of the wisest Disney parents (and characters in general for that matter), but he literally sacrificed his life to save his son’s. He can be stern and gentle at the same time, which is probably why Simba looks up to him so much. He taught his son everything he could, and the better part is that even after he’s gone, he continues watching over and teaching him. If that doesn’t spell out being a good father, I dunno what does.
"Simba, let me tell you something my father told me. Look at the stars. The great kings of the past look down on us from those stars." ~Mufasa "Really?" ~Simba "Yes. So whenever you feel alone, just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you. And so will I." ~Mufasa

You don't have to, but you're welcome to. But then I'd just feel inadequate if I didn't. Well, if you feel you must, the winners won't be announced until sometime in May or June probably, so you have time to think.

I was CONpletely at a loss for mothers...I must not have seen most of the movies with good mothers.
I should've seriously voted for her.
