I didn’t end up getting to sleep in, cause I awoke screaming. I shook my head, clearing away the battle smoke and the echoes of shells and mortars.
Thud.
I jumped to my feet, hands at the ready. My blood was racing, my fingers shaking, empty of the rifle I felt should be there.
Thud.
I closed my eyes. This was not the frontline. This was 2047, and we were currently at peace with pretty much everybody, at least officially. That was not a mortar explosion.
Thud.
Then what was it? I stood up and wandered out of my office.
Thud.
Celeste wheeled back and kicked the ball hard against the back wall again. It bounded back towards her.
Thud.
I leaned on the doorframe. “It’s a bit early for that.”
“Oh, sorry.” She said, with no real feeling. “Were you asleep?”
“Yes.”
“You should go to bed earlier.”
“Yes.” I said, because there was no denying that.
We lapsed into silence as she CONtinued smashing the ball against the wall, and I stood there and debated on going back to bed, or just getting on with my day.
Eventually, though, I zoned back in on my current company, watching her as she flicked the ball against the wall over and over.
I sighed, and stepped away from the frame. “You’re doing it wrong.”
“Huh?” She glanced at me, shackles raised and hostile already.
“Hey, calm down.” I waved my hands pacifyingly. “Temporary truce.”
She just gave me a weird, searching look.
I nodded to the ball. She kicked it to me after a brief hesitation. I simply trapped it. Now was not the time to show off. “You hesitated.”
“It’s my ball.” She said. “I was considering whether you were worthy.”
“No, you hesitate every time you kick the ball.” I said. “There’s a slight hitch in your wind-up, you reach a certain point.” I demonstrated. “And you pause there. Just a half second, but that’s long enough to throw everything off.”
“I don’t need your criticism.” She spat.
“You’ll never get better if you don’t want to learn.” I raised an eyebrow.
“You’re a goalie.” She said, dismissing me.
“I wasn’t always.” I shot back.
“What happened?” She said. “They finally got somebody decent to replace you?”
If she had been a guy, she would be lying on the ground nursing her nose. As it was, I turned away, and stalked back into my office. Why did I bother talking to her? Girls were a hardheaded waste of time.
Unfortunately, they were also half of the world’s population.
Better then the heat. Ah those are my favorite rival blaster. That's cool, I saw a youtube video about some.
If only it could be fall all year long. They look low capacity. These might've been the guys from the video, there were a lot of YouTubers there.
Personally I want winter all year long. They are but they have an internal mag. Cool, now I just need to search Youtube for a nerf video with you in it.
*gags* Agreed, I wear low ones and only when necessary for black tie events, because I don't want to destroy myself. Depends person to person, that's the whole point of the saying. XD YAY! *already starts smithing chains and handcuffs*
That's the main reason I go to theaters, that and the sticky seats. I just don't go to black-tie events. Sounds ambiguous. I think we're both going to be disappointed if somebody actually volunteers. XD
First of ew. Secondly, I actually slide my tennies off at the theater a couple days ago, but I kept my feet tucked up under me. XD I usually go bare foot or sock foot at hotels tho. *gives you the stink eye* I guess… Probably, how long should we wait?
Lol, awesome! Or night, since that's when you seem to be getting on lately. I liked the statistics, they were interesting. And the new chappys were awesome! I have a bad feeling about his education though. XD
Yeah, since I got my laptop I CON MB as late as I like, and normally I don't start till like 9, so yeah. And weird, yeah, I know. Thanks. I'm not worried, he should be though.

Ick, I'm glad you're not in CONtrol. Still, you're not gonna win any awards with four shots. I was in a photo from the event. Treading along like the determined zombie I was, pool noodle in hand and shield at the ready.
Didn't seen any Kronos, I think. I got to fire a 3D printed fully-automatic Rival pistol, though.
