a week ago, i started feeling really nostalgic about the old lmbs. i spent a lot of time on them, as i'm sure we all did. in that time, we all made a lot of memories.
on august 15, 2015, i was 12 years old and really excited about the new bionicle theme. so, after practically begging my parents, i joined the lego message boards. my username was UltraAgent03, but i asked people to call me Ultra (since i had already stopped caring about the ultra agents theme.) i was excited to be greeted by the users i had been watching for months (i swear it's not creepy
) i wrote my first fanfiction, bingzak's tale. eventually, i decided to look at the forums beyond bionicle. seriously, most popular users on the bionicle forum were ranks 8-10; imagine my surprise when i saw my first diglett posts
by summer 2016, i had joined other lmb-related communities. stuff happened, i got grounded. i didn't return until december 25, 2016. then, a few weeks later, the mods made the announcement.
if i could do it over again, i would do so many things differently. but it's important to remember that it's all in the past. one year later, i want us all to remember everything the lmbs have done for us.
the lmb coffee table made me who i am.
the summer of 2016 made me who i am.
meeting maj made me who i am. (let us take this moment to remember the fail whale that never was)
honestly, every user made me who i am.
thank you, molly, gandy, sweets, nya, con, mock, ben, nasa, td, baxter, pt, brian, skul, diglett, bgurl, apei, fg, varnika, ilaria, cat, flash, mrcqm, rocka, keplers, div, koren, emily, nintendo... honestly, these are just the users that come to mind. there are
so many more that i'm forgetting. i never really knew some of these users, but reading their posts shaped me. most of them aren't on this website.
one year later, we're still here. we're still a community. i don't know what will happen to all of us, and we'll all retire eventually. but no matter how weird this place is, it's shaped all of us. and though this is definitely the worst sentence i'll ever say, it's true: together, we like frodo.
(please send help)
so here's to another year of staying together as a community. -UltraAgent03
