I have to go with Rogue One. Because it shows that you can have a Star Wars movie without a lightsaber duel and Jedi. Also it shows more members of the rebel alliance since Admiral ackbar, Mon mothma , and Wedge are the only surviving members of the rebellion we see in the original trilogy. We get to see how the Death Star plans were stolen and Vader acted like a total boss when he took down the rebels at the end.
Ooooooooooooooooooooh, nice to see some variation in the first category! I personally prefer III to II but still find that II gets way more hate than it deserves. I mean so do the prequels in general, but calling II worse than I is a bit far.
Also, I'm not sure the last one counts, but meh, okay.

OOC: It's my favorite star wars standalone movie, so it has to count. You've seen it, right?

Sadly, no. I actually had the chance to watch it the other day while riding in a van on a Scout trip but I picked 1989 Batman first and then the rest of the group picked Home Alone 2 after that so I never got to.

OOC: Well, maybe someday. If you had seen it, you would probably know why it's my favorite.
Heck yeah. I see you are a true intellectual. You have my respect.
Lol. I just saw The Rise of Skywalker last night though, and it's my new favorite.
While I definitely don't agree (I don't hate it either but still), I get the feeling you're the type of fan who just enjoys everything when they watch it and it becomes their new favorite for some time. That is something a lot of people look down on, but I relate to it and respect it.

Not really. I can be that way sometimes, about some things, but generally not. I agree that TRoS definitely has its flaws (like how they stuffed too many unfinished plotlines into one movie instead of expanding the trilogy) but I really liked it. It had a lot of things I'd been looking forward to and hoping for, like revealing that Leia was a Jedi, Rey becoming a Jedi and (most of all) Ben's turning back to the Light Side.

Honestly it really wasn't that bad. There was no way it could ever have lived up to expectations but as you pointed out it really did have a lot of good things going for it, and despite the things that bothered me a little I really did enjoy it and I appreciate what it was. It didn't really leave a lasting impression on me in the same way that TLJ did but I think after a second viewing I will be much more satisfied with it.

Gotcha, that makes sense. What were you hoping to see in it the most?

I tried not to go in with any specific hopes/expectations because that leads to disappointment. However I really did want to see Hayden Christensen do a scene as Anakin's Force ghost and I also wanted to hear Duel of the Fates and/or Battle of the Heroes in the epic final lightsaber duel (which never really happened at all). Now we did hear Anakin's voice so I kinda halfway got my wish there but none of the prequel music popped up.
I still really enjoyed the movie, it's not like not having those things completely ruined it for me. However the whole time I was waiting to see what the final duel would be... and it never really happened. Kylo vs. Rey wasn't even a part of the third act so I assumed there would be another one and I was waiting the whole time but there never was. So that's why I think watching it a second time already knowing it won't come it will be easier to stomach.
