Chapter 4: In And Out
Captain America
We had been sneaking around the small Italian town of Bersaglio. Turned out the whole place had been turned into a base. HYDRA soldiers were on every street. Banners and propaganda were plastered everywhere. It felt like we were in Berlin, not Italy. We hid in an alley so I could tell the others the plan. “Okay, we’re going to use the sewers to navigate around this town. Garrett is probably being held in the town hall.” Logan opened a manhole cover and we were about to jump in. Bucky turned around and accidentally kicked a stone out into the street in front of a squad of HYDRA soldiers. They looked at us, shouted, and raised their weapons. I raised my shield to deflect the attack, when Flash sprinted in front of me towards the soldiers. In a few seconds, he knocked them out and dragged them into the alley. “Change of plan?” he asked. “Ich denke schon (I guess so),” I replied in German.
We walked towards the town hall wearing HYDRA uniforms. It was a modest building, but HYDRA decked it out with the same banners they put all over the place. The guards let us in easily, so I figured we had quick access to Garrett. We were in for a surprise. The room where they kept Garrett was empty, and the window was open. As soon as we stepped in, a blast of blue energy struck Logan, and he smashed into a wall. The attacker stepped forward. It was Dan Garrett. I removed my helmet. “Mr. Garrett, it’s time to go.” Suddenly we were surrounded by HYDRA soldiers. “Nein, Captain.” A soldier pushed through the crowd. I noticed the same badge we found days ago on his chest. “He will stay, along with all of you.”
did you put chapter 2 as chapter 3? or did you put chapter 2 as chapter 1? or did you put the prologue as chapter 1, and chapter 2 as chapter 3?
lol, great chapter, man. i think to tie everything together, the chain of souls was on that american convoy. not that it has to be mentioned, though; i just might write a one-shot about it after this story is over.

Chapter 5: The Blue Beetle
Logan
I bared my claws. Cap didn’t have his shield on him, so when the bullets started flying, I instantly tackled him to the ground and shielded him with my body. I looked at Dan Garrett. He was now wearing a blue suit not unlike Cap’s, blasting away at the soldiers with beams of blue light. We were sent to rescue the Blue Beetle. Cap shoved me off of him and picked up a rifle from a fallen HYDRA soldier. Blue Beetle made a hole in the wall and pushed Cap out. “Sorry, sir!” he shouted as he picked Bucky and Flash up and flew them down. I jumped out and landed on top of a car. I cut through the roof and motioned for everyone to get in. “Doesn’t beat a motorcycle, but it’s fast,” I said to myself. I opened the glove box and found a spare key. Once everyone was inside, I started the engine and took off, HYDRA soldiers screaming and firing at us.
On our way to the rendezvous point we picked up the gear we had left at the alley. “Feels like I’m wearing clothes now,” Cap muttered as he put his shield on his back. Flash stifled a laugh. Bucky frowned. “This seemed… easy.” Suddenly the tires on our car blew out. I couldn’t control it. We bailed out as it crashed into a tree and exploded. “Not so fast,” a heavily accented voice said. I looked up. Standing in front of me were five HYDRA soldiers wearing the stone badges. They were wearing decorated metal gauntlets. “Nothing leaves this place.” Cap stood up and rushed forward to punch one of them, but he blocked his attack and countered with a kick that sent him flying into a tree. “Captain America is not the only Super Soldier.”

Chapter 6: Winter Soldiers
Flash
I sprinted towards the nearest Super Soldier and summoned all the Speed Force energy I had, rapidly punching him. He raised his gauntlet hand. His gauntlet shape-shifted into a round shield, blocking my attacks. The Super Soldier whirled around and punched me in the ribs. I collapsed. Strangely, as I lay on the ground I could see the fight better. There were five Super Soldiers, all clashing with the team. Then I remembered something. Bucky! He didn’t have any powers! Mustering my strength, I zoomed over to Bucky. He was beaten up pretty badly, and the Super Soldier was about to hit him again. I body-slammed him into the wrecked car. He struggled to get up as I slowed down to ask him, “Who are you guys?” The reply was a sickly chuckle. “Wintersoldaten.” He gestured towards an oddly shaped grenade on the ground. My eyes widened. Suddenly, there was a terrible sound that brought me to my knees. The Super Soldier said “Hail HYDRA” and kicked me in the face, knocking me out.
4th wall commentary: Sorry for the long wait! I was distracted with potential ideas for a Superman story.

Chapter 7: Man With A Mission
Captain America
For the first time in months my everything hurt. I dragged myself off the ground. Blue was helping Flash up, and Logan was lying on the ground in a twisted position with his claws out. He had a large gash across his chest. “No,” I muttered.
Miraculously, Logan groaned and sat up. I limped towards him. “How did you survive that?” I asked.
“Well, I found that I can heal better than other people,” Logan replied. He retracted his claws and picked up his jacket. “A gunshot to you is a cut to me. It comes in handy when people are constantly hunting my kind down. ”
“Your… kind?”
He rose up slowly. “You ever hear about the kids left on the street ‘cause their parents don’t want ‘em? The mobs that swarm in and destroy a family just for having someone who looks and acts different? They call us monsters, mutants. And now Hydra’s pop launched a program to smash them all.” Logan slipped his jacket over his torn undershirt and gazed towards the horizon. It was like he could see the flare that marked our final destination from there. “But you know why I put this stupid uniform on, bub?” He turned his gaze on me. His eyes suddenly grew dark and angry. “I’m here to make them pay.”
“I would do the same for Bucky. He was my only friend back in Brooklyn. We’d pull out the couch cushions and jump on them, and just fool around.”
“Sir?” I turned around. Blue Beetle had a grave expression. “Sargent Barnes is… gone.”
Fourth wall commentary: I'm back! Due to the slow moving process of my other commitment, Mission: Hydra is continuing! Mods, could you change the "HYDRA" in this thread title to "Hydra"? Thanks!
