Without criticism nothing gets done. It is not “basic and unimportant”. It has the potential to change the whole RP.
OOC: I think a major point of confusion here is that you think we're breaking the rules. We're not. We're simply using items the rules didn't cover. I'd also like to point out the rules themselves have very little in regards to actual rules, mostly just a list of things, their price, and some things for collecting money.
To be honest, this really is a trivial matter at best. People can't use specially made ammo to destroy rigging and smash people. Instead they use normal cannon balls to do the same thing. If you think it's important then bring it up in the Roleplay Control Center so we can discuss it without cluttering up this topic.

OOC: One bomb would not do that much damage. Even with all the gun powder on the deck, because there isn't much. IC: The bomb smashes a few buccaneers and the force sends one into the sea. The pirates continue to raid your vessel and they begin to swiftly prevail. Captain Creetan approaches the captain, He speaks in French, "Capitan! It would be my pleasure to set you free if you would surrender." He is about three yards away from you, he has a pistol, and his cutlas in hand. There is about two pirates for you every one dragoon. Your numbers are depleting fast due to the amount of skilled fighters in your vessel now.
