It was revealed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair that Nexo Knights will be ending after the current wave, and no Summer sets will be released. There's an article on Brickset about it.
What do you think about this? About you pleased or disappointed? What do you think will replace it?
Personally, I think Nexo Knights was rather mediocre, but the world of Nexo Knights created an excellent setting. As anyone who, like myself, was in the Nexo Knights Roleplay, will tell you, the world was a very good base for a story. It allowed the Nexo Knights RP to develop and become far better than the show ever was. I wasn't a hater, but I feel like the people who made it didn't do the best job. Most of the TV episodes (at least the ones I saw, which was the first two seasons and bits of later ones) followed very similar plots.
As such, I'm not dancing for joy, but I'm not weeping either, as I'm not sure how much more it can be milked.
I'm hopeful that Nexo Knights going will create space for another Castle theme. Fantasy Era was cancelled due to Lord of the Rings sets, so we never got the wave featuring Elves, which I would have loved. The two Castle themes since then (Kingdoms and Castle) haven't featured more magic than one Wizard in Kingdoms, and a Wizard and a Dragon in Castle. I hope Lego will another good Castle theme, with Dwarves, Elves, Goblins/Trolls, Giants, Dragons, et cetera.
In addition to a Castle theme, I wouldn't object to another Big Bang Theme, but hopefully better than Nexo Knights. I don't want Ninjago replaced (though the Ninja better get their old hairpieces back, not these ridiculous Sons of Garmadon ones) but it would be good to have something else as well.
