Specifically and solely on the topic of pineapples. That's it. We don't tolerate any other subject matter.
Fantastic.
Do you know how pineapples got their name? Christopher Columbus discovered the pineapple on the island of Guadeloupe in 1493. He called it piña de Indes, meaning "pine of the Indians." Pineapple comes from the idea that they are spiked and resemble pine cones on the outside, but taste sweet like apples on the inside.

I now know more about pineapples than I ever expected to achieve.

*Shifts weight uncomfortably*
... So... You're okay with me using your username for the time being, right? Is there some sort of colaboration/running-gag-thingamy we can put together to make it comical, d'you think?

I absolutely don't mind. In fact, let me get myself back to normal real quick that way we match better. I dunno, I could steal your username for a bit, and we could swap avatars and stuff.

If you're game I'm game.

any fantasy writers here? i want to start working on my own universe (i have a lot of stuff planned out), but i need advice on naming characters
For me it really depends on what kind of fantasy it is, and what kind of setting you build. For the novel I'm putting together, for example, I won't have names laid in concrete for my characters until I finish the various languages/lore and can name them in their own native language, and possibly after a historical or local hero.
Do your best to name them for their personalities.

would you recommend that i name them using words from various languages as inspiration, or just come up with the best names i can?

Neither. Names have meaning in their own right. For instance, my username is Con, and in Celtic Con means wise, which is why I was comfortable switching from LolimonTheWise to TheGreatCon, because they carry most of the same meaning.
Con is also Irish for Hero, so yeah.
If it'd make you feel better, you could describe the character to us, and then we could suggest names or something.
