Leopard Imperial Knight: “In the Iron Mountains, just a little south of here. I believe there isn’t a barrier anymore, so the city should be visible.”

Leopard Imperial Knight: “In the Iron Mountains, just a little south of here. I believe there isn’t a barrier anymore, so the city should be visible.”
-The Panther soon sets off to go head over to the Tiger HQ to do something about it...-
King Erdrik arrives above the Valley of Balance in his personal Fire Eagle Flyer (painted completely black, but with glowing red highlights in the usual places from fire chi), and is cleared for landing. Erdrik and his guards meet with Lord Vamprah on the landing pad, exchanging pleasantries.
Erdrik: "It hasn't been long since the Tribal Summit, but I trust you and King Leodus are both in good health, Lord Vamprah?"
Still on his vow of silence, Vamprah signs, and an Imperial Knight vulture translates.
Imperial Knight: "Strangely, Leodus has still not returned here since the Tribal Summit. We haven't been able to get in contact with him, which is most worrisome."
Erdrik: "I'm sorry to hear that. Let's all hope we hear from him soon. Now, onto the matter I wanted to discuss with you..."
Erdrik and Vamprah discuss the matter in complete privacy, with their respective guards standing just outside the room.
OOC: I know there’s no point in putting it in jammers, but I guess that’s part of the RP experience.
{JAMMERS! -JGREAD2 and Guru- ONLY!} The two leaders discuss the matter of overthrowing Viona and reinstating Set-Ra as the Phoenix Emperor, and Vamprah agrees to support the Eagles in this endeavor through militant action.
Erdrik leaves the Golden City happily, and soon after, the Vultures release an official statement to the tribes of Chima, revealing Empress Fiona’s true identity, disavowing her as a member of the Vulture Tribe, and claiming that she wasn’t associated with the Vultures or Empire of Balance at all when she went to the Phoenix and “tricked them into thinking she was one of them.”
{JAMMERS! -Vultures & Leopards- ONLY!} Meanwhile, the Vulture Special Intelligence division regretfully but dutifully burns any and all records of Viona being among their rank.
Leodus returns to the Golden City, having called in a Sky Scavenger to fly him back here. After disembarking, the Leopard King is met by Vamprah at the end of the landing strip.
With a deadpan stare, Vamprah simply signs: Where the he[ck] were you?"
Leodus tells Vamprah the full story of what happened with him after the Tribal Summit.
Vamprah signs: Sounds a bit far-fetched, but I don't doubt you. I have a different matter to attend to at the moment, so you'll have to deal with... that situation.
Leodus:"Yes, well, I need a rest for now."
Leodus wearily retreats to his quarters, as Vamprah organizes the Vulture and Leopard armies for an operation unknown to the other tribes.
Vamprah and the now fully recovered Leodus (the Leopard King now wears Imperial Knight armor with the addition of a golden shoulder cape) receive a radio call while in the war room.
Vulture: "Your Majesty and Your Lordship, it's a transmission from Agent 4."
Leodus: "Patch him through."
The voice on the other end sounds watery through the chi-powered radio.
Leonard: "King Leodus, Lord Vamprah. I'm calling to make you aware of an important development. As you know, the Spiders under King Stannis Rax have secretly been allied with the Forgotten for some time now, and I've been keeping watch on them as instructed. Immediately after the Forgotten joined Unichi, Rax revealed himself to the new allies, and promised that he'd help Unichi drive the Icebears out of Crystal Crater, completely fuse the Spider Tribe with the Forgotten and revoke his crown if the Scorpions shared territory in the Outlands, and Crystal Crater's mining profits, in return."
Leodus: "Hmm. Obviously, we can't trust the Spider King who we warred with not long ago. However, if he is being genuine, than the Empire of Balance assisting in the retaking of Crystal Crater can get us on his good side and ensure that he won't resume that war, especially if we demand nothing in return. Plus, we need to get the Icebears out of the south anyhow. It's been too long; the quakes are getting worse little by little..."
Vamprah signs to Leodus: Yes, it seems that assisting Unichi in this battle will be beneficial for multiple reasons.
Leonard: "And that's not all, sirs. You've probably heard of Primordium's attack on the Lion City--"
Leodus: "I have heard, in fact we were just discussing what we should do about that."
Leonard: "With all due respect, Your Highness, isn't King Lycor a close friend of yours?"
Leodus: "He is, but joining the Chima Alliance against Unichi would break the Empire's stance on neutrality toward all non-Ice Tribes. Imagine if we joined the Second Chima Civil War just because I'm chums with the Lion King."
Leonard: "Yes, Your Highness, but Primordium has become a danger to Chima with the fire chi tax..."
Leodus: "Which is why we're conflicted over what to do. Give us time."
The Leopard Army marches out of the Valley of Balance and splits up into two forces. One standard assortment of air and land vehicles like Leopard Mechs and Leopard Mobile Commands, led by King Leodus, goes straight south. The other half of the army, comprised mostly of air forces such as Leopard-Copters, Vulture Sky Scavengers, and Ice Vulture Gliders (the latter two vehicle classes having been plugged with fire chi, removing them of their ice powers) flies southeast.
Lord Vamprah, meanwhile, takes a small, diplomatic entourage of Vultures in (non-fire chi transformed) Sky Scavengers up north toward the Frozen Tusk. The Vulture Army remains in the northern half of the city to defend the HQ.

With both leaders of the Empire gone, a lone figure, drawn to the Golden City by a power he can't describe, walks down into the Valley of Balance. He arrives at the west gate, and is met by Leopard guards.
Leopard: "Identify yourself, lion."
Lyrix: "Hm? Oh, I'm just a wanderer. I've taken a detour here because I felt... drawn to this place, or rather, to something in this city. It's some sort of deep connection... I don't think I can leave until I can at least find out what that thing is."
The leopard guards look at each other, having heard of such an occurrence before. They contact the acting Regents for the Leopards and Vultures, and both agree to let Lyrix into the city, on a tight leash.
Leopard guard: "Alright, you may enter. However, we'll inspect you for weapons first, and we'll not let you out of our sight. Understood?"
Lyrix: "Heh. Sure thing."
They remove a concealed dagger from Lyrix, before letting him through the gate.

("Tokyo Conception" plays.)
Lyrix briskly walks in the direction he is being "called", and the guards keep pace with him.
They stop at a vault deep in the city.
Leopard: "Sorry, but you can't enter this place."
Lyrix: "But I need to! It's... calling to me."
Leopard: "The things in that vault are locked away to prevent them from ever being taken! I'm sorry, but this is where your trail will have to run cold."
Lyrix: "...I see."
The lion spins around and manages to knock out the two guards after a brief battle. He retrieves his dagger, and uses it to pick the lock into the vault. He enters, and sees Malgus' former Fire Wing Harness in a glass display in the middle. Lyrix runs to it, and hungrily picks the lock, throwing off the glass and shattering it on the floor. He sheathes his dagger and picks up the Harness as power radiates from it.
Lyrix: "Finally... So I was the one who was supposed to wear this thing all along? I couldn't feel the connection when it was damaged, or when Malgus had it on. Well, if this thing won't leave me alone, here goes..."
Lyrix dons the Harness, and and the blazing wings erupt from it. Lyrix' left eye, formerly a pure purple after his ice transformation and reversion, now remains purple, with the exception of its pupil, which is now red. Lyrix grins and flies out of the vault, bursting through the ceiling and soaring away from the Golden City.
Lyrix: "Now... Time to proceed with what I came to the mainland to do."

Prologue/Origin Story: We are the Leopards, keepers of the elemental balance between fire and ice. Leopards were one of the first species to drink the Chi, but we had difficulty figuring out who would lead our newly established tribe, and there was even physical infighting. Eventually, a young leopard travelled up to Mount Cavora and completed the trials necessary to earn the species fire chi from the Phoenix. As he was the only Leopard able to do this at the time, this leopard was deemed the king of the Leopard Tribe. Eventually, the king's son, Prince Leodus, became the 2nd king of the Leopards after his father passed away from old age. The Leopards advanced in our technology over the years, but we wanted to escape the politics and wars that the other tribes got into, so we moved up north to the edge of The Iron Mountains into what would later be called the Valley of Balance. There, we built our Golden City, and our civilization prospered. Despite isolating ourselves from most of the southern tribes, we formed lasting friendships and alliances with the Phoenix, Tiger, and Vulture tribes (the latter alliance went defunct when the original Vulture leader met his end). We weren't able to save our friends the Vultures from the Vulture Plague, and most of that tribe was wiped out. The survivors were united by a Vulture named Vamprah, who was determined to conquer the entire Iron Mountain range. We fought back when they tried to destroy our city, but this caused even more tensions to form in the fragile relationship of our two tribes. When Icestrike convinced Vamprah and the vultures to join his rogue bear faction in a war against us, we knew it was too late to reason with the vultures. What would later be known as the Leopard—Ice Hunter War broke out in this very City and across the Iron Mountains (also in The West Sea, but our fleet was destroyed by the ruthless Ice Bear fleet), but we ultimately won due to the vehicles and fire chi given to us by our friends the Tigers and Phoenix. We became known as one of the Fire tribes after this. Vamprah and Icestrike were intent on conquering Chima, so we had no choice but to exile them from southern Chima, and Leodus cursed them to remain in the arctic north. However, an unexpected side effect of the curse fused the Hunter with the ice itself, just like what had happened to the Mammoths and Sabertooths before them. After the war, we'd been living here in secret and in peace for many years as the inland tribes slowly forgot about us, but we are wary that the Ice Hunters could return, should the curse be broken...
HQ Layout: To maintain the curse, we Leopards live in the middle, between the elements of Fire and Ice (both figuratively and literally). The valley at the edge of the Iron Mountains that our city is located in became known as the Valley of Balance, as it is right between the Ice Regions of northern Chima, and the warm regions of Southern Chima. A circular wall surrounds the The Golden City itself is of standard construction (not all the buildings are made out of actual gold, just most of them are painted gold), with all the buildings you'd expect in a city; houses, factories, armories, hospitals, a castle, etc. The Leopards are a creative and academic species with interests in art and literature, so many leopards are authors of fiction and nonfiction books, and many others are artists. Some time ago, the Tribe went through its own renaissance age, and precise from different eras fill the art museums and the houses of rich leopards. The Golden Castle where King Leodus and the high-ranking tribe members live is of similar construction to the lion temple, with a yellow leopard head and mouth shaped gate that can chomp down to close. In the castle are golden halls and a great library that could even rival that of the eagles. Leodus has, of course, a yellow throne room with a golden throne and a wall-sized mural behind the throne depicting the war with the Vultures and Ice Bears.

Leodus is also wise and artistic; he painted the mural in his throne room himself. However, Leodus has flaws; he is still plagued by the memory of his best friend (the original Vulture leader) being assassinated by Icestrike, and of himself not being able to save his friend. Despite knowing that he didn't have a choice, Leodus is also not proud of exiling the Vultures and Ice Bears to the north and cursing them, especially since he used to be allies with the vultures, and Leodus wishes he could've been able to negotiate for peace instead. Nevertheless, Leodus pushes all his flaws and emotions aside so he can focus on leading his tribe and putting his species first and foremost. Backstory: Leodus was part of the second generation of leopards, and was the second King of the tribe. He was also the 2nd wizard in existence (my upcoming Mammoth character being the first), and practiced basic spells and curses. He eventually befriended and allied with the original Vulture leader, a new wizard who gained basic control of the element of ice. The vulture leader gave Leodus an ice sword as a gift. When the Vulture Plague began to wipe out the original Vulture Tribe, the leader flew to the Golden City in order to ask for help from the Leopards. As Leodus saw his friend approaching, he came out of the city to meet the Vulture, only for his friend to suddenly be tackled and smashed from behind by Icestrike. Icestrike escaped before Leodus could avenge his friend. Vamprah suspected the Leopards of destroying the Vulture leader, and as such, the Vultures didn't ask the Leopards to help them during the Plague. Leodus later led the Leopards in the war with two of the future Ice Hunter tribes, and the rest is history...
Oof, so many completely wrong parts. I shouldn't have written such lengthy backstories back before the lore and chronology was worked out. I wish now more than ever that I could edit old posts.

Well at least we have the wiki to help us out with that.

OOC: Also forgot to mention that Leodus' force returned here after the Battle of Lion City.
IC: Leodus is called over the radio by Petricoff, who's requesting aid at Minor Tribes HQ.
Leodus: "The Empire of Balance is...being spread thin and drained of resources right now. I can't bring a force that anyone would consider an 'army' per-say, but...I can bring the knights and druids, perhaps."
Petricoff: "That's fine, any help is appreciated! Thank you, King Leodus!"
Leodus soon leaves the Valley of Balance, heading south with ten Imperial Knights and five Leopard Druids.
