I mean, from the beginning, he was such a funny, dorky character, the comic relief among his more serious peers. His relationship with Nya was adorable, and he showed his adorable sensitive personality even in his heated arguments with Cole. (I think I had a crush on him when I was a kid, even...)
And then character development struck. He's shown more and more caring for his friends, and it seems like he's wanted to make people happy. (He's certainly made me happy.) Seeing into his backstory, and the whole of Skybound, made me just appreciate him even more. Then Prime Empire, and we saw the whole caboodle of his sweetness and caring nature.
But it was really the icing on the cake when the wiki revealed that he makes birdhouses for nursing homes.
I smiled like I was getting married when I saw that.
oh, and did I mention his adorable redesign? yeah, that too. he has FRECKLES-
