Before I launch right in, I just have a query about how characters get from world to world? I know there are portals of sorts, but what I'm wondering is whether they appear on demand or if they're located permanently somewhere within the world that characters have to get to?
I'm also wondering if the characters themselves know what the portal is and what to do with it.

The way I was originally seeing it was that the characters discover the portal and quickly become accustomed to it as they explore different worlds; so yes, they do know what it is. As for where the portals are, I'm not sure. If they're in one fixated spot, we'd have to go through all the worlds deciding the best place for them to be located.

Sounds good. Thinking about it more it'd be pretty inconvenient to have it in one spot. So perhaps the character can 'will' the portal open when visualising where they wish to go..?
