Cole looked at the police station standing across the street to see two more huge cat-creatures joining the other three. They hissed and bared their spiky fangs, their teeth and eyes gleaming in the dim light of the city. They glared at them balefully from across the street, lashing their tails. “Good thing they can’t get over here, huh?” Jay chuckled uneasily. One by one, the cats turned away from the side of the roof and disappeared into the shadows beyond. The boys stared into the darkness of the roof searchingly, but there was no more sign of the cats. That was eery. “They can’t get over here, right?” Jay asked nervously.
One cat—a dark gray tom with a single dark stripe running down his back—stumbled to his paws and lunged at Jay, forcing the ninja to the side of the building. Jay battled the huge cat whilst balancing precariously on the very edge of the roof, where several stories down below vehicles raced and honked. Jay huffed and grunted as he swiped his nunchucks with lightning-quick reflexes to parry the blows of the feline, dimly aware of the yawning space behind him. Finally the gray tom lunged low and slashed at Jay’s feet, causing the latter to teeter and fall off the edge of the roof with a panicked shout. “JAY!” Cole and Zane cried simultaneously in horror. As he began to fall, Jay reached out with one flailing hand and snatched a nearby power line stretching over the buildings. The wire groaned and crackled with electricity, and it sagged under his weight. After a heart-stopping moment of Jay hanging on for dear life as the wires drooped lower, it fell still. Jay was left dangling over the bustling street of the city. He opened his eyes after shutting them tight, then looked down uneasily at the cars down below. His face paled, but he let out a chuckle. “Ah—ha, ha, ha. . . Whoo. That was close.” Snap. His smile wilted. “Uhh, what was that?” Snap. Creak. Jay’s gaze followed the sloping line to realize that the wires were popping free from the post holding them. “Uh-oh.” Snap, snap, BANG!
I endlessly pity Jay in this story...wait, when do we not pity Jay, right? He's basically the damsel of the ninja. XD
“Over here.” Cole turned to see Zane standing up a few feet away, brushing shards of glass from his uniform. “I am unharmed.” He answered their unspoken question. “Great. Let’s get back inside and—” Cole stopped when he heard yowling and caterwauling from inside the building. Jay’s eyes widened in dismay. “Are there MORE of them attacking?!” “How did they know where we were?!” Cole exclaimed. “What more do they want??” “We should get back inside and assist our friends in stopping the cat-creatures.” Zane said. The ninja turned to the window, only to realize three more huge cat-creatures stood there, their eyes mirroring the lights of the building on the city, making them glow in the dark. They glared at them and bared their teeth, hissing simultaneously. “Hoo, boy. . .” Cole muttered. One of the cats snarled and leapt toward them. “Earth!” Cole lashed a whip-like collection of pure dirt at the charging creature, smacking it in the face. The cat screeched and swiped at its eyes whilst the other two leapt down from the shattered window. One cat ducked from Zane’s arrow-like icicles whilst the other darted to and fro from Jay’s lightning. Cole resorted to using his scythe instead of his powers when the first cat attacked him at close range, swiping and snarling. He spun around while it darted around him, trying to hit the swift-footed creature. He realized the cat was deliberately trying to confuse him, running around in circles while swiping at his legs every few seconds. He looked up to see the other assailants using similar strategies, forcing Jay and Zane to spin about wildly as they tried to strike back. Well, if we’re going to be spinning around, Cole thought with a smile, we’re going to spin OUR way! “Ninjaaa. . . GO!” He whipped around and summoned a rocky vortex of earth. With a grunt he smashed into his assaulter, sending the cat tumbling head over heels. Zane and Jay saw him and did the same, their miniature tornadoes knocking over the cats, whom caterwauled furiously.

“AAIIEEE!” She shrieked when she saw him. “FRED! THERE’S A PEEPING TOM AT THE WINDOW!” Jay replied indignantly. “I’m not Tom, I’m Jay!” “Oh, all right, dearie.” The lady responded, then shrieked again. “AAIIEE! FRED! THERE’S A PEEPING JAY AT THE WINDOW!” **** “They can’t get over here, right?” Jay asked nervously.
1. That's so funny!! 2. * thinks of what could happen if the Yokai tired jumping for it* Let's hope they don't try anything.. for their sake.

That's one way of looking at it. Poor Jay. And trying to impress Nya half the time, too.
