I dunno why I am doing this, but I am doing a 60's Batman series! Yay...... On the old MB's I never finished a story, but I have circumvented this by making this an indefinite series. What a clever idea... This will be composed of episodes of (x amount of) parts, not based on the series, these are my own ideas that I came up with my self. Episode 1 Part 1 will come tomorrow. (inspired by a concept for a certain characters origin)
Harvey Dent was an ordinary news anchor. He had obtained a law degree in university, what with his ambition to become a district attorney, which had done him no good. But, he now had a great job. He was the lunchtime news anchor of the GNN (Gotham News Network)! All across Gotham, this would be watched in homes, workplaces, as well as cafes and restaurants. He would be seen, but never acknowledged outside of the newsroom. That was the way Harvey preferred it, really. He wouldn't be a target of anything or anyone, what with Gothams history of crime and seemingly inept police force, run by that incompetent fool Jim Gordon. Of course, he wasn't allowed to give his opinion on anything, he only had to say what came up on the prompter, no more, no less. He liked that also. He couldn't be blamed for bias, as the news was completely unbiased (or that's what they told him). Harvey was on his way to the news room now, for the lunchtime news.
He sat down right next to his co anchor Gilda. He had a deep affection for Gilda, but she didn't really like him, so he never really bothered talking to her. All the equipment was set up, the cameras, the microphones, the prompter, and a TV screen which showed Harvey himself, as he would show on TV. He had done this a thousand times, and nothing could go wrong. The cameras started rolling, and Harvey started speaking as he always did. "Good afternoon, Gotham, this is your daily news bulletin, from GNN." he started. But something was wrong. The TV showed, not Harvey, not Gilda, but an odd, clownish, smile. Gilda looked concerned, but she wasn't on air, Harvey was. He tried to remain calm, in front of the cameras, but he found that hard. Behind the equipment, the producers were off their heads. "What is he doing, why does he look like that, etc., etc." The smile disappeared, and for a moment Harvey shook it off mentally, and was just about to continue, when the television exploded.
Ambulances arrived soon, and took Harvey and everyone else affected by the blast to Gotham General Hospital. Harvey managed to turn to the right just in time to save half of him, but the right suffered some burns. Without surgery, they couldn't be removed. Harvey refused all that. He was going to find whoever did this. And they were going to pay.
(Part 2 will come soon, Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel!)
Bruce Wayne, and his faithful ward, Dick Grayson, were sitting on their living room couch chatting away to Bruce's Aunt Harriet, at Stately Wayne Manor. Alfred, the faithful Butler, had provided them with tea, which Aunt Harriet sipped while talking about something uninteresting, involving one of her friends and a hair stylist. Suddenly, the Bat-Phone (minus the Bat part, naturally) began to rang. "I'll get it!" said Dick. He ran to get it, and as soon as he picked it up he was startled by the voice of Gothams own Commissioner Gordon say "Robin! Thank goodness your there, a new villain has infiltrated a party at Daggett House, home of business man John Daggett, while he was hosting a party, and made off with some fine china! We need you down there as quick as possible!" "You can count on us Commissioner!" Dick reassured him, before he proceeded to hang up, and came back into the living room. "Bruce, remember we have that thing to do, y'know, that thing!" he said, not knowing quite what to say. "Ah that thing! Yes, I'm sorry Harriet, but we really must go!" Bruce filled in for Dick. They then ran into Bruce's study, Dick then proceeded to relay to him what Gordon said, Bruce lifted up the head of the statue, pressed the big red button that lay underneath it, revealing two poles marked "Dick" and "Bruce". They then slid down the poles.
Once they had finished sliding down they were in their Bat-costumes, revealing their secret identities of Batman and Robin. They were in the Batcave, their hideout, located deep underneath Wayne Manor, which contained all their crimefighting equipment, including the Batmobile. They got into the Batmobile, Batman in the drivers seat, while Robin performed all the routine checks. "Atomic Batteries to power, turbines to speed." he said almost automatically. Batman hit the accelerator, and they sped out.

The Batmobile sped away from the Batcave, and eventually found its way to Daggett House, where there were police cars, and spectators trying to get a peek, but to no avail. Batman and Robin came inside to find a disfigured main room, with the number "2" spray painted over all the walls and floors. The Commissioner and Police Chief O'Hara were looking at evidence: namely, broken china and glass. Batman went over to greet them. "Batman, thank goodness you made it! We were just looking at all this broken china, could you go and interview the witnesses?" said Gordon. "I sure can!" replied Batman. There was a man sitting in a chair mulling his thoughts. Mr John Daggett. Batman went over to greet him. He was a millionaire, rivals only by Bruce Wayne in terms of power in Gotham, even if Daggetts power had come about through questionable means. But that was of no matter right now, he had been the victim of an armed robbery by an unknown villain. "Hello Mr Daggett, you surely know who we are." Batman greeted him. "Yes, I do." he replied. "Could you relay to us the events of the robbery earlier?" Batman asked him. "Of course." said Daggett. "I was chatting to guests at my party, when suddenly," he began.
"A man whose face was scarred on one side came in and disrupted everyone, followed by what appeared to be his henchmen. He clicked his fingers and his men started to spray paint the number 2 everywhere, on the walls, and on the floor. He then went over to a collection of my fine china, and one by one he flipped a coin, which I noticed was scarred on one side, to determine whether or not he stole it, it seemed. After we was apparently done, he and his men made off with my china." "Can you describe him to me?" Batman asked. "Of course. He looked around his mid-thirties, with dark hair. However, the right side of his face was scarred, it appeared green, and the hair on that side was messy, and white." Daggett told him. "Thank you Mr Daggett." Batman said. Just as he was about to tell the Commissioner about his findings, Daggett called after him. "Yes, Mr Daggett?" Daggett replied with, "He looked like that lunchtime news anchor, Harvey Dent."
(Part 4 will be here tomorrow, Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel!)
After talking to Mr Daggett, they relayed their findings to Commissioner Gordon, who was stunned, to say the least. "I heard that Harvey Dent fellow had a television explode in his face. Half of it was scarred. He fits the description given, so he is now our primary suspect." said Gordon. "Robin and I will head back to the Batcave, I recommend you send out a search for Harvey Dent." replied Batman. "Consider it done, Batman." Gordon confirmed. "To the Batcave!" Batman exclaimed.

The Batmobile went smoothly into the Batcave before halting, and once Batman and Robin had disembarked, it began to turn on the platform it was on, to face the exit. Almost immediately, The Dynamic Duo set to work. "The number two sprayed all over the walls. A half scarred man, almost like he had... two faces!" Batman realised. "So, what are we going to call him... Two-Face?" said Robin. "That is a perfect name old chum! From now on he is called Two-Face!" said Batman. "Now, friend, if we are going to catch him, we need to see if he made any unusual transactions. To the Batcomputer!" They then went over to the Batcomputer, their crimefighting gizmo, which had helped them in many cases. After hacking the account, the crime fighters noticed something unusual. "Look Batman! Over the last two days, he withdrew $2 dollars, every two hours!" Robin pointed out.
"So an obsession with the number two, hm?" pondered Batman. "I've got it!" he suddenly exclaimed. "Tomorrow, he will commit his second crime, in two days! But where? There are dozens of buildings numbered two in Gotham." They thought about this for a second. "Oh! Batman, he will commit a crime at the number plate factory, on #2 22nd street!" Robin realised. "You're right old chum! Quickly we must inform the commissioner!" Batman told him.

Come back tomorrow, for the next part in this daring tale, Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel!
Harvey was lying in bed. He was still in hospital, they hadn't yet released him. Doctor Leslie Thompkins had recently visited him. He had ignored most of what she said, only muttering a faint "ok" when she addressed him. However he had decided that this would be the last day of his in the hospital. He wasn't supposed to be discharged, not for another couple of weeks. But he had a plan. He tore off the sheet covering the scarred side of his face. He looked at his reflection in a nearby window. He looked hideous. How had they managed to make burns look like green makeup? No matter. He, through some strength and determination, got himself out of bed, tore off all the wires connected to him, and left his ward, drawing looks from his nearby patients.
As he walked along the corridors, a nurse saw him. "Sir, please return to your-" she began to say, before she hesitated at the sight of his face, and Harvey punched her. He walked past many other doctors, who he had fought off to escape. Eventually, he made it out of Gotham General. Good riddance, he thought to himself. He hadn't liked it at the place. The patients around him annoyed him. He saw a guy about to take off in a car, with the window open. Perfect, he thought. He ran over, punched him in the face so hard he would need to go to the hospital behind him. He stuck his hand in, opened the door, threw the guy out, and climbed in. The engine was on, so as soon as he fastened his seatbelt and closed the door, he was off.

After relaying their findings to Commissioner Gordon, the Dynamic Duo raced to No. 2 22nd Street. Once they arrived, they found an odd sight. Two-Face’s henchmen, with a whole lot of number plates, cutting off “2”s. Two-Face was in the middle, watching over them. Then Batman jumped into view and shouted “Stop this, criminal scum!” At that moment, all the henchmen dropped their plates and ran at Batman and Robin. But they fought back. POW! A henchman gets socked in the face by Batman. BAM! Another goon flies back from a kick delivered by Robin. SHABANG! Two criminals faces meet, after Batman slammed them together. GUAM! Robin elbows a henchman who flies back into some crates.
They had dealt with the henchmen. Now it was time for the head honcho. Two-Face himself. They ran up to him. “Haha! You fools! You have walked right into my elaborate trap!” shouted Two-Face. Suddenly, the floor beneath Batman and Robin collapsed and they fell into a pit, with a bunch of “2”s made of sponge. “Haha! I shall trap you, bury you, drown you underneath 5 metres of paint! Paint, which I shall use to paint a giant “2” on the tallest building in Gotham! Hahahahahahaha!” The paint began to fall, slowly moving towards the Dynamic Duo.
Will they survive? Or are they destined to come to an unpleasant end? Find out tomorrow, Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel!
When faced with impeding doom, Batman remained calm, and pulled out his Bat-Grappling Gun, and got him and Robin out of there. “It’s over Two-Face!” Batman shouted as the police arrived. But just when it seemed all was good, a sudden explosion blew a hole in the roof of the building. A rope then fell down at Two-Face’s feet. “That’s my cue!” He screamed as he grabbed the rope and got pulled up into his getaway helicopter. “Holy helicopter Batman!” Robin exclaimed. “Quickly, chum, to the Batcopter!” Batman replied as they sped off. They got back to the Batmobile, and Batman pulled a concealed lever that sent the Batcopter automatically flying to their location. When it landed, they hopped in. And they were off!
Once they were in the air, they spotted Two-Face’s helicopter and sped after it. Thus began a thrilling chase. They dodged buildings, flew low and high, until eventually the co-pilot of Two-Face’s helicopter pulled out a bazooka and shot at the Batcopter! But Batman had prepared. In the Batcopter, there is 2 emergency parachutes for situations just like this. Batman and Robin grabbed them, then jumped out just as the rocket destroyed the Batcopter. As they fell, they activated the parachutes and slowly drifted to the ground. When they reached the ground, Batman pulled out a signal device for the Batmobile, and it soon was right with them. They hopped in, and sped after the helicopter, making sure to keep it in view. The Batphone rang, so Robin answered it, as you shouldn’t use the phone while driving.
”Batman! Robin! Where are you? We saw the explosion!” cried the Commissioner. “It’s ok Commissioner, we are in the Batmobile and in hot pursuit of Two-Face!” Robin reassured him. Eventually they saw the helicopter lose altitude, and they observed it landing outside a warehouse, which Two-Face ran into. Batman knocked out the goons protecting the door, and went inside. What they saw shocked them. The Joker. Tied up in a chair. “Wha?!” Batman said, speechless. “Mmmm, mmmmm. Mmmmmmmm!” said The Joker in a muffled voice which made him inaudible. “Haha! You have come to my evil scheme!” Two-Face exclaimed as a glass wall fell between Two-Face and The Joker and the Dynamic Duo. “I want $2,222,222 by the end of tonight, or he dies!” He shouted so they could hear him.
Will The Joker survive? Or is he cruising for a bruising? Find out tomorrow, Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel!
Harvey had made off with the car. It had low gas, so he knew he had to leave it eventually. He hadn’t been able to take much from the hospital, besides his burnt clothes and a coin. But not just any coin. It was his fathers lucky coin. A Peace Dollar. Harvey inherited the coin, and flipped it to solve decisions he couldn’t make. This coin was special to him, so he kept it throughout the years, and saved it from the hospital. Anyway, he drove, until a police car called on him to pullover. It appeared he had gone over the speed limit. But Harvey wasn’t having any of that. He sped away, leaving the police to eat his dust. That’s... until he ran out of gas. He was forced to pullover, and the police caught up to him. “Shoot.” Harvey said, under his breath.
“Get out of the car!” The cop screamed. Harvey obliged, but when the cop saw his half-scarred face, he was startled so much that Harvey could go up to him and sock him in the face. He was gonna feel that in the morning. Dent then got in the cop car and drove off. He went to where he wanted to go. The Stacked Deck Club. Criminals only. One of the most sketchy bars in Gotham. Everyone from petty thieves to evil masterminds hung out there. Once Harvey arrived, the patrons were startled by a police car outside. But no policeman walked in. Harvey Dent did. A bouncer came up to him. “You aren’t a criminal. You read the news! Get out!” He said, somewhat unphased by Harvey’s horrifying face. Harvey walked right past him, but not before punching him so hard he would feel the pain for a month.
He went and sat down at a table. He contemplated what he was going to do, before a patron came up to him. “Hey, uh, whaddaya want ‘ere?” He said, somewhat drunkingly. “I’m here to form a gang.” Dent replied. “Well, uh, I can get you some people.” He went off and came back with about 7 others. “Will this do?” “Splendid. Now, everyone, let’s talk.” Harvey said as all the criminals leaned closer, to talk about the formation of a gang.
Part 9 will be up tomorrow, to form the conclusion to this daring tale! Same Bat-Time, same Bat-Channel!
All was at a standstill. Two-Face had the Joker at gunpoint, asking for a ransom. Batman and Robin trapped behind glass. Just what will our heroes do? Suddenly, the GCPD burst through the door behind Two-Face. “Surrender Two-Face! You are surrounded!” Gordon shouted. Two-Face turned towards the police, still holding the Joker at gunpoint. “Give me the money!” He screamed. But while this was happening, Batman pulled out his Bat-Laser, and started to cut through the glass. Two-Face didn’t notice. He was too busy screaming at the police.
Batman eventually broke a hole in the glass and jumped through. This got Two-Face’s attention. As he turned to face them he was hit by a Batarang which made him drop his gun, as the Caped Crusader grabbed Two-Face and Robin grabbed the Joker, separating them from each other. “Take them away.” said Chief O’Hara. Two policemen came and handcuffed them both and took them their cars. “Well Batman, thank you for your hard work in thi season investigation.” Said Commissioner Gordon. “All in a days work, Commissioner.” Batman replied.
So this adventure concludes, with Two-Face captured and behind bars, another victory for our heroes! Join us next time, Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel!
(Thanks to the two people who read this, and apologies for the anticlimactic finale. )
Second, it is good grammar to start a new paragraph whenever someone starts talking.
Third, I liked the concepts you adopted from TDK, but you only used it for the flashbacks. That Two-Face was serious, deadly, and awesome. But you dropped all of that in modern-time. Also, why would he want all that money when he just wanted revenge on the Joker?
Fourth, I wanted to see Cesar Romero talk more. As well as how Two-Face captured him.
Fifth, That ending was, as you said, anti-climactic. I do not forgive you.
Sixth, I enjoyed all the aspects and references you adopted from the TV show. I watch it often, and I can confirm there is no Two-Face in that series. Is that what inspired you to write this? Also, I liked the part where Batman and Robin connected the miles-apart dots and solved the mystery. Yours was a bit of a stretch, but then again, they always are.
Seventh, you must do a crossover with the 1940's Superman.
