What do you want to talk about? How about the Space Race?
The Space Race was cool. It's a prime example of how war can play a huge part in progress, in this case being that the Cold War caused us to send people to space.
I know it was really fascinating. The US had a little trouble catching up with the Soviets. It was crazy when Kennedy said that the US would put a man on the Moon by the end of the decade considering the US had barely gotten anything in space.

I love the Space Race! It's just as interesting as a war, except with no death at all! Well, except all those times when rockets blew up. Yeah.......forget that earlier statement, there's still plenty of death. But at least there's not as much of it!
One thing that makes the Space Race really cool is both sides felt like they won in a way, and both did win in a way. The USSR launched the first satellite and had the first man in space, but 'Murica made it to the moon first! #MuricansOnTheMoon
If you had looked at what was happening in the early 50's you would've said the Soviets would win.

Yeah, I personally feel like the Soviets did win, but Americans will take what they can and say they won. Just look at the War of 1812. It didn't really accomplish or change anything, besides the White House being burnt down, and the Americans were like, "Yes! We won!"

"WE GO TO THE MOON, NOT BECAUSE IT IS EASY, BUT BECAUSE IT IS HARD!" Those words really sum up Kennedy's presidency, and his idea for the future. He knew that going to the moon wouldn't be easy, but he knew it would be possible. We beat the Soviets by doing what people thought would be impossible. That's the kind of mindset great people have.
