The flappers were bad, rebellious girls. Kind of nasty. I wouldn't be friends with them.
Rebellious for their time and you could say they were standing up for what they thought was right:P
I don't know if they cared about what was right. They just wanted to do whatever they wanted. They didn't want any guidelines, they just wanted to go ranting out of control.

That is an excellent way to describe it, I suppose:P

So you aren't defending them?
I'm half and half:P I see why they're doing it and they had a right of standing up for what they believe in but some of their reasons were kinda stupid

I just don't understand why they desired to hack of their hair, and shorten their skirts.

I cut my hair reaaaaaly short and I regret it so much so I see why you think that:P

My hair kind of medium-length, I guess you could say. It all depends on what standards people have for hair. And the short skirts thing, people's standards of modesty have been lowered greatly.
Essentially, the flappers wanted to ditch the 'old world' look. Their short hair and reduced skirt lengths have played a bigger role in modern women's fashion than most people realize. That's my opinion, anyway.

Huh. I wonder why I never heard of her before. But fear not, I looked her up.
I think the 1920's was the first venture into the modern world. WWI really pushed America into a new world, and everybody was starting to establish a culture.

This culture ain't that bad
Oh, I would disagree. It depends on what elements of the culture you are referring to.
