"This is news reporter Susan Sox, here with a special report! New Ninjago City was just attacked by a mysterious menace! Here is an eyewitness report." 
"Hey, Susan. I just wanna say, I love your work, and I love you." 
"Well, that is very nice. Could you tell us about the attack?" 
"Yeah, yeah, uh, well the day started out normal, then a storm rolled in, but no rain, no lightning, no nothing. Just thunder and wind. Then these jacked up vehicles all in black drive in with these creepy dudes. There was this big guy on a tank, and he was yelling stuff. 
"Then the black creatures attacked people. They pounced, and black stuff oozed onto them, and they became another creature! They also took weapons and ate food. 
"After a while, they packed up and left a good two-thirds of the city. The last third was wiped clean, and filled with weird black graffiti on the buildings. I was lucky they didn't come for me." 
"Thank you. And now, we have a... Ninja, I believe. She is named Equinox, is that right? And she is apparently a master of checkers. Tell me, what were those things?" 
"Those things were symbiotic creatures. They were created in a lab by combining venom samples from the Great Devourer, and Dark Matter located on the Dark Island. They merged, creating an ooz that can attach itself to a host and control it, enhancing its abilities. The host is a prisoner. The symbiote controls in full. It then replicates, feeding off the immortal life energies of its host. 
"The ooz was thought to be disposed of, but it wasn't. There was a traitor. It somehow ended up in the forest in your dimension. 
"My comrade, Jamanukai Foe, found the ooz. It consumed him, taking his body as his host. He spread, corrupting vehicles, animals, and people. 
"It calls itself Venom. It is extremely dangerous. And don't worry, something is being done to stop this menace."
