Basically, my moderator's plate covers up my other plate. So I CON demote myself briefly and see what rank I am. I have sort of threatened to demote myself for the entirety of Pirate when I get there.
It's actually possible to have moderator powers and for your rank to be up instead of the moderator plate. It's pretty cool, but the admins want the moderator plates to be up so people can recognize them.

I'm proud of you for being a savage dude. What you can do is add the pirate rank image to your custom title, so you have both.
