*The stealth force fires at the oncoming halberds, taking down the closest, and then disappearing into the forest, heading east.*
*The archers and Scorpions continue to fire on the attacking halberdiers, inflicting large losses. The formation continues to hold.*
*The attack continues as the phlanax continues to charge forward*
*The fighting is brutal, but the advantage of the many hidden archers aids the elves. The halberds take large losses before they can reach the line, and once they do they find their advance stopped.*
*The stealth team begins their attacks once more, this time in groups of five attacking at random locations and intervals. Some shoot the halberds from behind, while others try to drive back the enemy archers. Each group disappears after firing a volley, then reappears elsewhere to fire again.*
*The trebuchets fire another round of flaming projectiles into the fortress, increasing the fires already within.*

OOC: How are your halberdiers "easily" protecting them? They'd have to be surrounding the from all sides (which would take a considerable amount of halberdiers to accomplish), and then they're just sitting ducks for the swift moving stealth units.
IC: The strategy continues as before, the archers continuing to make their presence felt.

OOC:Because the phlanax is around the archers, did you think I would leave my archers unguarded? *The attack continues*
{JAMMERS! -GOOD- ONLY!} Welcome to the party. The enemy force is a short distance west of the fortress, engaging my army in the north. I have another small force fighting their right wing, while a stealth group is giving his archers a hard time. Move your elves in to attack his left wing, and the army should crumble. Then I can get on with this siege.

OOC: Oh, wait now, the archers are in the middle of the attacking phalanx? That changes my strategy a bit.
IC: Time freezes as the overlords commanding the battle try to understand each other.

{JAMMERS! -GOOD- ONLY!} Sounds good, and will do. My only thing is that I wouldn't occupy or destroy the HQ yet, since otherwise he just waits 3 weeks and then he can regen all his troops. Which would not be good for my empty homelands.

OOC: They've always been, I thought I made that clear at the beginning, obviously not though.
OOC: Alright then, I thought the archers were behind the phalanx. My strategy doesn't change too much, aside from this:
IC: *The stealth team makes quick attacks on the enemy from behind, moving high in the trees and raining arrows on them before disappearing into the foliage to a different position. This occurs frequently, with no seeming pattern in the movement of the attacks.*
*The force attacking the enemy's right flank from a short distance shields the archers and scorpion crew from return fire.*
*The main force fights on, taking advantage of their superior weapons and training to push back the halberds. The Warders take down leaders and any archers they see.*
*Several days ago, 100 Arandond and 100 Silvan archers (about 800 MWE) arrive from the VOA. They now join the Lorien elves in attacking the enemy's right flank.*

*The Phlanax attacks the forces on their right*
*The halberdiers are first shot at by the archers of the new force. This is the first sign of an approaching force. As they turn to face the oncoming Arandond, the right wing of the force they were already fighting sweeps forward with renewed vigour, the Maethyr I-Thewair moving into close range where the halberds are of little to no use. As this happens, the elite Arondond crash into the halberds coming to meet them. They lop off the heads of the halberds before finishing off the orcs. The archers shoot down any halberds that try to back up the first wave of halberds.*
*The force on the enemy's right wing charges forward in a loose shield wall, the spearmen wielding pikes now. A volley of arrows is fired at the enemy just before they charge into the enemy lines from the side.*
*The stealth team continues to fire at the phalanx from behind, always trying to remain hidden and adding to the enemy's confusion.*
OOC: Your army is going to have a hard time counterattacking on three sides. More than likely their morale will be lowered by the increasing pressure and they'd being fighting defensively.
