At the end of rogue one Darth Vader takes down Rebels who are handing off the Death Star plans to the Rebels on a Rebel cruiser. Vader could of easily just used the force to grab the plans but here is a (weird) theory why he didn't grab them -
Vader could of sensed Leia was on the ship.
Vader sensed Luke was alive so Darth Vader could of also sensed Leia was alive and force sensitive.Which is why Leia was captured and Alderran was destroyed so Leia could turn to the Dark Side and become Vader's apprentice. Well that turned out in Failure because Luke,Han,and Chewbacca rescued Leia.
He knew it is a closer step to defeating the emperor.
When Vader tells Luke that they are father and son he talks about him turning to the dark side. Also he mentions (if my memory is correct) defeating the emperor with their powers combined. So Darth Vader never really liked the Emperor
