Anyone up for an Easter egg hunt? Because lemme tell ya, this movie's full of them. Just to be clear, these are only the ones I know about, but y'all might have found some others that I missed.
1. During the climatic battle on the bell tower, Pumbaa makes an appearance as a gargoyle.
2. When Esmeralda is looking at the dolls Quasimodo has made and comments that one resembles the baker, it's actually none other than the baker from Beauty and the Beast.
3. Then we have the "Out There" sequence. Right as Quasi sings the line "Out there among the millers and the weavers and their wives," this one single shot is just FILLED with easter eggs.
-First off, there's a man shaking out the Magic Carpet from Aladdin.
-Walking nearby are two people carrying a pole between them, and tied to that pole is none other than Pumbaa... yeah this one disturbs me too
-Finally, perhaps the best of all: right through the street walks Belle, reading a book. I really like this particular easter egg, because it actually makes sense. At the beginning of Beauty and the Beast, sure, Belle doesn't live in Paris, but it's implied that she hasn't lived in her little town all that long, so it's reasonable to think that they could have lived in Paris before moving to a small French village. And maybe the baker followed them too XD Pretty cool, actually.
These eggs are as well-incorporated as the deeper meanings to the story. (O_o) Definitely ones I's have to look up or stumble across the web to find. I looked out for Belle (who was super-tiny watching it on a TV) and that one is definitely mah fayvrit.

Wow! That's a lot of Easter Eggs I weren't aware of!
1. I may have seen Pumbaa somewhere, but I probably have forgotten. 2 and 3. Wow, I'm missing out on a lot of them, especially the Beauty and the Beast Easter eggs. I need to watch the movie again. Poor Pumbaa. He ended up in Paris, Scar ended up in Greece in Hercules, and now I wonder where all the other animals of TLK ended up.
I guess this isn't really an Easter Egg, but I've always confused Phoebus and John Smith from Pocahontas. They look too similar despite having different hairstyles.

That's kinda funny, because I always got John Smith and Phoebus mixed up too

Ah, nice. I'm somehow more familiar with John Smith, so when I see Phoebus I think "It's John Smith!"
That's true as well. He's definitely more familiar than other characters.
I also didn't know Phoebus's name until last year when my sister did a play about teens doing a play, which was The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Ah, interesting. A play about teens doing a play on The Hunchback of Notre Dame. That's an interesting kind of play. I would never know Phoebus' name off the top of my head.

Yes, it was an interesting play. The funniest thing I remember from it is that the kid who played the kid that played Phoebus wore a bathrobe. And everyone said Notre Dame differently...

Yeah. That's pretty funny. I wonder why a bathrobe was good enough for a costume to represent Phoebus. That must've been pretty annoying for the audience to listen to many versions of "Notre Dame".

They put him in a bathrobe because the boy that plays Phoebus is supposed to be vain and is in like a hair and makeup bathrobe... I think that's what it was. Yeah it was either "Dom" or "Dame"
