So after some consideration, I've decided to go ahead and post the next meet so that we'll hopefully have free time over Christmas break. And we'll also have an extra week to watch it, so hey, there's that.
Anyway...do y'all know what January 6th is?? You've heard of Topsy Turvy Day, no? I hope so, because our next assignment is:
The Hunchback of Notre Dame! (1996)
We'll have three weeks before meeting back here on January 10th to discuss it. Happy movie watching, and happy holidays!!

I planned it so that hopefully he'll see it when he pops in after Christmas...but if not, he'll still have a few days after he returns.
Cheers, Bun!
Oh, whew, you did see it in time! Welcome back! I was going to postpone the meeting for a bit so you didn't miss out on your favorite movie, but no worries now. ^^

(ÓwÒ) Thank you!! Yes, you set the date in plenty of time. (^v^)
Good evening, Disnerds!! I would say "good night" but that always sounds like something you only say when you're going to bed so that's super inconvenient
So since it's still technically today, where I am, I'm not technically late in posting this. XD I hope you all had magical holidays-- including, of course, Topsy Turvy Day and welcome back!! Our last assignment was The Hunchback of Notre Dame, so let's get right into the meeting.
1. Favorite scene? 2. Favorite song? 3. Favorite character? 4. Most magical moment? 5. You've just been caught sneaking into the Court of Miracles! Quick, what's your plan of escape??
1. I think the scene where Esmeralda saves Quasimodo at the festival is definitely a favorite. So epic. Magic-chills, every time. Plus the ensuing chaos that follows after is also quite fun.
2. This movie has a fantastic soundtrack, so it'd actually be easier to list mah least favorites, but... XD Probably "Out There," "Topsy Turvy" or "The Court of Miracles"? I literally don't know
3. *rubs head* why is this all so hard I think it's Esmeralda, though of course I also love Quasi and Phoebus. But hey, ALSO a shout-out to Djali, who's criminally underrated and just makes me laugh anytime he's onscreen. XD
4. Copy-and-paste the answer to #1. Or I would say the ending of the movie, particularly that moment when Esme reaches her hand out to Quasi inviting him out into the sunlight..? OwO That...that...geez, that shot speaks volumes in so many ways.
5. I'd be in over my head, but I'd just hop up on the proverbial stage, whip out some sort of magic trick and try to convince them I was a gypsy. When all else fails, bLeNd iNNN *swishes cape*
There are also several fun Disney easter eggs in this movie which I'll post about soon, so stick around to discuss those!!

Ah yes, it does seem to be quite late as of the time you posted this.
Yay, I get to participate much better now that I've watched it without technical difficulties.
1. Definitely the part when they "fire" the catapult. It makes me laugh every time how they can operate a catapult so clumsily yet successfully.
2. Either Hellfire or The Court of Miracles. The Court of Miracles is really catchy and fun to sing, and Hellfire is a really deep and one of the most well made Disney songs I've ever heard, especially the deep lyrics and the melody.
3. I think my favorite is either Quasimodo or Phoebus. Quasimodo is the most relatable character of the movie, and Phoebus is a really cool character, especially how he saves the family from the burning windmill against orders.
4. I'd agree with you on that one, but I also like the part where Quasimodo swings from the church to start the revolution against Frollo and shouts "Santuary!" The whole revolution afterwards was also really fun to watch and really well done too, still sends shivers up my spine.
5. Probably hide under a table or hide inside one of the stalls or something. Maybe try a disguise too.
1. Ah yes, that scene. For some reason it makes me depressed seeing Quasimodo bullied like that until Esmeralda comes.
2. I'd agree, every song is very good and well done. I'm pretty sure other people have adapted those songs into a good single or something.
3. Djali is a fantastic Disney Sidekick. Djali and Esmeralda are definitely quite the dynamic duo.
4. That's probably the most magical it gets, to see Quasimodo finally step out of the cathedral knowing that his future is so much brighter than what it used to be.
5. Good plan. They can't find you that easily once you look like everyone else.
I think I remember seeing some easter eggs, but I've forgotten unfortunately. I can't wait to see what you found!

1. I guess the beginning, where that one guy in introducing the story to the kids, with the song, and then the flashback sequence... it's a very enchanting way to begin a story.
2. "He[cc]fire". It's so epic, and such a great villain song. (Random: I think it's interesting how Frollo is one of, if not the only Disney villain who does not consider himself evil, but believes he is right and everyone else are sinners. It's very unique to Disney. )
3. Phoebus, I think. He's super-cool but also a pretty fun guy.
4. Same as Zach: the climax, when Quasi saved Esmeralda and shouted "Sanctuary!". The setting, the fire, the music, the action, the characters. . . ! One of the most incredible climaxes to a movie I've ever seen, and I love it.
5. Throw a smoke bomb, throw some rocks in one direction to make people think I'm running one way when I'm actually running in the other direction.
This looks really fun and like a way for me to get back to some classics. Can I join?
Of course!! We're always happy for new Disney fans to join in!
Currently we're discussing The Hunchback of Notre Dame -- if you've seen it anytime recently and would like to hop in that chat, feel free to do so! If not, I'll add you to the list and you can hop in at the next meet.
Anyone up for an Easter egg hunt? Because lemme tell ya, this movie's full of them. Just to be clear, these are only the ones I know about, but y'all might have found some others that I missed.
1. During the climatic battle on the bell tower, Pumbaa makes an appearance as a gargoyle.
2. When Esmeralda is looking at the dolls Quasimodo has made and comments that one resembles the baker, it's actually none other than the baker from Beauty and the Beast.
3. Then we have the "Out There" sequence. Right as Quasi sings the line "Out there among the millers and the weavers and their wives," this one single shot is just FILLED with easter eggs.
-First off, there's a man shaking out the Magic Carpet from Aladdin.
-Walking nearby are two people carrying a pole between them, and tied to that pole is none other than Pumbaa... yeah this one disturbs me too
-Finally, perhaps the best of all: right through the street walks Belle, reading a book. I really like this particular easter egg, because it actually makes sense. At the beginning of Beauty and the Beast, sure, Belle doesn't live in Paris, but it's implied that she hasn't lived in her little town all that long, so it's reasonable to think that they could have lived in Paris before moving to a small French village. And maybe the baker followed them too XD Pretty cool, actually.

1. I have way too many, because, heh y'know, favourite Disney film 'n all, but presently the ending one where the child embraces Quasi. I don't know why it didn't before but the deeper meaning of that hit me like a bus upon full realization. ~ You too?
2. "Out There", parts 1 & 2 ~ "The Court of Miracles" takes the award for catchiest song
3. Quasi-modo by far ~ Djali is a PAINFULLY underrated animal sidekick.
4. I really believe that the scene where Esmeralda stops the crowd dead-silent by helping Quasi is the most magical moment. A hopeless situation of jeering and humiliation absolutely blown away by a single, small act of kindness. ~ Actually tho XD This film has way too many quality moments.
5. Escape? I came to join them! Which is actually a cover to not get a nice new uhhh necktie. And if I get caught again after leaving I'll say I'm a spy often away. ~ Not bad not bad
