Somehow The Last Jedi has became the most despised Star Wars movie ever made. The Star Wars fan base is split over whether it was good or not, but this is getting out of hand. Since the Last Jedi director 'apologized' for the Last Jedi. Also directors and fans 'boycotting ' Star Wars? Fans are making videos on why The Last Jedi was a total train wreck cinematic disaster or why the Last Jedi was good. Just saying I enjoyed the Last Jedi and all the other Disney canon films. Some people are calling the new canon fan fiction. Which I am pretty sure Legends is also fan fiction from a certain point of view. Honestly the I think only reason why the new canon gets so much hate is because it is made by-Disney. Ever since Lucasfilm was bought by Disney in 2012 , fans have been saying Disney will ruin Star Wars. The only thing I am mad at Disney about getting Lucasfilm is the Clone Wars getting cancelled. Well Disney had to cancel the Clone Wars since it was on a rival network (Cartoon Network) and probably had to go through legal work since it wasn't on Disney Channel or Disney XD. There is much more I can say so this is my two cents.

I like all the new canon films aside from the Last Jedi which I had because it had some terrible troll style plot turns and decisions from Ruin Johnson like killing Luke off in a dumb way in the 2nd film when we hadn't really got to see him much again nor the true less miserable version of Luke. He should have died in 9 at least like George would have done perhaps saving Rey in a sacrifice and the future of the Jedi order. Also the TLJ had no plot TBH and was a dull space chase for the entire duration more or less. Also why didnt Finn and Rose go off to find Resistance reinforcements or support of another kind like New Repbulic remnants or aligned Manderlorian groups then bring them back to finish off Kylo and the First Order fleet rather than some dodgy double crossing Lando copy. Killing off Snoke was a surprising and interesting revelation though. However I think like Lukes death it happened too soon and we didnt get to know anything about him. His death and Kylos takeover should have been left to episode 9 without killing off kylo perhaps and saving im for the next trilogy and killing off Rey by his hand but she has a child with Finn or something. It felt like Johnson wanted to make his own and whole trilogy in this single film.

In-deed. Disney should spare us all and just stop making Star Wars.

Killing off Snoke was a surprising and interesting revelation though which I sort off agree with as nobody was really expecting it. However I think like Lukes death it happened too soon and we didn't get to know anything about him for example perhaps him being Plaguise. Just a reference to him being Sidious's master and the true air to what was left of the empire and the original orchestra-tor of it or just a mention of him revealing his true name would have been nice touch. Also I feel his death and Kylos takeover should have been left to episode 9 without killing off Kylo in 9 and saving him for the next trilogy and killing off Rey instead by his hand but she has a child with Finn or something to give the trilogy an unexpected darkside victory with Finn and Reys child perhaps being the future of the Jedi and savior of the galaxy to come. In conclusion It felt like Johnson wanted to make his own and cover his interpretation of the whole trilogy in this single film which did not work. This trilogy had so much potential to work with like having the Yuzhan Vong instead of darksiders as the main villain and storm troopers again which would have been really interesting and done fan service. The idea of galactic outsiders who cant wield or being affected by most force techniques is really interesting. An we could have seen Han team up with Boba Fett to protect Mandalore from their galactic invasion and cleansing. Who wouldn't want to see that. Also in the first film an enemy could have been Rotta the Hutt who is seeking vengeance against his fathers murderer in a noir gangster thriller way whilst Leia has to deal more publicly and brutally with being discovered to be the daughter of Darth Vader as does Luke damaging their reputations with the new Republic.

I'm with Gree on this one.
I think the only way they can save SW for the vast majority of the fan base, is if they create either a Thrawn or Boba Fett movie. Other than that, they are pretty much doomed.

I agree completely with everything said here. It's okay if you don't like every single decision Disney has ever made with Star Wars. I don't, and I don't think anybody does. But refusing to enjoy anything they put out in any capacity is just immature. It's okay to prefer Legends over the new canon, or not like your favorite video game being un-canonized, but you can't pretend like Disney has done nothing but bad with Star Wars.
People are just sad TLJ didn’t pander to their expectations in every way and blame a company that probably doesn’t care and send death threats to the director who made a decent movie, but it wasn’t “a good star wars movie” or whatever rubbish people come up with to justify their bias and hate.
