The scene awaiting my return home frightened me. The front door had been smashed in, plant vases knocked over, and black SUVs were leaving down the street. I landed smoothly and raced inside, collapsing my helmet into the neck area of my armor. I found the interior in shambles. There were various traces of blood smeared everywhere. A few rifle magazines lay empty on the floor among shards of destroyed dry wall. Obviously my wife opted to resist the intrusion which may have cost her and my daughter their lives. Sweat drizzled down my face as I frantically began searching for them.
“Tamsen!? Talitha!?” my voice rang throughout the halls with no response, “HONEY! It’s ok, it’s me! I’ve come to get you guys out of here.” I took a moment to scan some of the rooms around me and I realized that the intruders had purposefully designed the place to look like a random street gang had attacked the house. “Sweetheart, where are you!?” I leaped, literally leaped, up the flight of stairs that led to the second floor with my new abilities, scaling it in under a second. I burst into multiple rooms and finally our bedroom. Kerfuffle lay motionless on the floor by my side of the bed. I knelt over him and checked to see if he was still alive. He had been fatally wounded and I knew there was nothing I could do. He whined softly as I patted him.
“You’re gonna be alright, boy.” I stood up. No one was here. With a thought, my helmet rebuilt itself around my head.
“At your service, sir.” Carson’s voice possessed a calming effect on my nerves.
“I need to catch up with those SUVs we spotted when we approached the house.” I exited the house onto our rooftop porch and leapt off the building, ejecting my suit’s wings and igniting the jet pack.
“Right away. System calibrating best route… here you are sir.” A mix of orange and blue holographic images presented a detailed map showing my target’s location.
I followed the directions and caught up quickly. “Ok, scan it down. I need to know where everyone is.”
Holographs swarmed over the vehicles and placed images of what was inside on them, allowing me to see who was who.
“It appears that they’ve put your wife and daughter in different vehicles. One’s in the first vehicle while the other is in the second. As you probably can tell, there is a total of five vehicles. The last three are heavily armed.”
“Thank you, Carson.” I growled, focusing on an inner rage.
“It also appears that they’ve been alerted to your presence.”
Light flashes sprinkled the third and fourth vehicle, sending bullets zipping past me. I weaved to make myself a hard target and then steadily lowered my altitude, quickly catching up with them. As I hovered next to the last vehicle, small metal packs on the back of my calves burst into large three-toed talon-like claws that attached themselves to the bottom parts of my boots. I used these to land firmly onto the vehicle. Then I flicked my right wrist and a blade ejected from the underside of my forearm, becoming a pretty decent weapon. I stabbed it into the roof of the car and carved a large “C” into the top area. I then lifted it off and shot the two men driving the vehicle with my left hand holding my semi-automatic pistol. The car veered into oncoming traffic, so I leapt from it onto the SUV in front. This time I just fired into the roof with my pistol and powered toward my next target. For this car, I decided to fly next to it and take out its tires which worked quite effectively, sending them speeding into a storefront. A bullet smacked me on my right wing, but the wing didn’t sustain any damage. I hurled a small gadget from my belt onto the back doors of the second SUV which exploded them off a moment later. I landed in the trunk, yanked one of the men’s rifles out of his hand, and stabbed him with my left-handed blade. Without hesitating, I fired my right blade into a second man’s head before he could shoot at me. I then leapt over the seats in front of me to find my wife tied up and gagged on the floor of the car. There wasn’t a passenger, so I didn’t have to fight anybody else.
The driver looked back at me and my wife and then screamed, “Hail Hydra!!” at the top of his lungs and steered the car straight toward the side of the road, intending to crash.
“No!” I cried and attempted to stop him, but we crashed before I could do anything.

If folks are interested in me continuing this story, i'll be happy to. I wrote this but after I returned from inactivity, I didn't think anyone would want to keep up with it.
