A hole is smashed through one of the walls, and a being strides through. Every trap in the room triggers, but they crumble to dust in an instant. A blade swings out from the wall, but it passes right through him.
He continues his walk down the hallway, disintegrating traps or simply letting them pass through him. At one point, he simply seizes a blade in mid-air, then bends it in half and rips it from the wall. Throwing it to the ground, he continues. More traps go off, and he walks right through them.
Eventually, he reaches a certain room in the very depths of the complex. It is filled with complex machinery. Suddenly, something moves. The being hurls something to his left without looking, and someone screams in pain. There is a thud as a strange being falls to the ground with a spear in his chest. His killer pulls the weapon out, and looks to his right. Another being similar to the first lunges at the intruder. He meets nothing but cold, hard protosteel in his jaw. The instant the fist connects, the Glatorian crumbles into dust.
"Mata Nui should have used better guards."
The being walks over to one of the machines and drills a small hole in it with his spear. He then pulls a vial from his armor. Inside it is a single red crystal. He removes it from its case pushes it into the hole. Once it is solidly in place, he taps it with one finger. It melts into liquid at his touch and seeps into the machine.
"It is done. Now all that I must do is wait. In one hour's time, Mata Nui will fall asleep.... and never wake up."
The being vanishes as the machinery begins to die.

The only reason he was able to make it was because Kratark's Toa Hagah were relieved of their guard duty until further notice, and were told to patrol any area of Metru Nui besides the Coliseum

And because the Kanui are kind of wrecking half the city, and Ko-Metru is under attack as well.
*Mata Nui begins to panic, and it doesn't help that a virus is currently working against him. He attempts to use his gravity powers to create a wormhole back home, but is unable to muster the strength to do so. He begins to formulate a plan.*
*Two Glatoran can be seen frantically working at the controls in an attempt to reverse the virus as the Core Processor enters "critical condition" as if this whole thing wasn't taking long enough to happen as it is.*

*Retrieving a map of the cosmos from Mata Nui's databanks, they begin to plot a course home to the Solis Magna system. However, they do the calculations and realize that the fastest route isn't short enough to get them home in the time they have remaining before the virus completely takes over.*

*Suddenly, the GSR's sensors reveal a nearby plothole wormhole. Probing further, the Glatoran find that the GSR's gravity powers can be used to redirect the wormhole to just outside of Spherus Magna's orbit just in time to land for maintenance. What they don't realize, however, is that their star maps are not up to date.*

If Emarcee were at the Queue of Em, he'd fix this XD

*The two Glatoran are trying and failing to navigate into the wormhole and sirens wail and random error messages pop up on all the screens. Seeing no other option, they turn two a large lever labelled hibernation. After a lengthy discussion of the dangers of pulling said lever, they pull it, putting Mata Nui to sleep. This halts the progress of the virus and restores manual control of the GSR, but the only way to pull Mata Nui out of hibernation is the Mask of Life; but if anyone takes too long to do so...*

(They take too long beacuse legendary masks such as the mask of life are banned.)

I'll allow the Mask of Life as it plays a pivotal role in the canon. Besides, everyone left so it doesn't really matter.
