"Captain's log... stardate... uh..." The Captain, Kirk was his name, could no longer remember what the date was -- not that it mattered. "Captain, need I remind you that logically, there is no longer any need for you to remember the current stardate, let alone make entries in your Captain's log." Said the ship's first officer. "I am well aware of that mister Spock, but one cannot be blamed for failing to forego a long-honored routine." Responded the Captain. The first officer, who's name was apparently Spock, shook his head, and declared the situation to be "most illogical." In an outburst, Capt. Kirk shouted in an outburst, "EVERYTHING is illogical nowadays! The ENTIRE Federation fleet destroyed! Our government, groveling at the feet of the Klingons for help and protection! Why -- I can't even believe our own course! Let alone what we'll end up doing when we get there!"
As it happens, the ship was on course to the one place that it should never have seen: Kronos. Like it or not, it was, and hopefully still is, the most heavily armed, and heavily fortified planet in the galaxy. As it is, there is already an entire fleet of Klingon ships in orbit around it. The U.S.S. Enterprise, in a shocking turn of events, has been sent to Kronos to assist in its defense, as it has been predicted that the enemy will logically strike there next. "You know what we're up against, Captain. Logic demands that we bring this ship to Kronos, and defend it from attack." Said Spock in an effort to console his Captain using logic. "Don't talk to me anymore mister Spock... just... ugh, I'm going to be in my quarters. You have the bridge, first officer." Mister Spock took the bridge, as per his orders, and in the name of logic: ordered that the Enterprise be set to a healthy warp factor, rather than continue attempting to make its journey on impulse power.
After much debate between the Vulcan first-officer, and the Scottish chief engineer, it was finally decided that the U.S.S. Enterprise would attempt to make this journey at a warp factor of 9, seeing as how it has already been operating for hours on impulse.
Meanwhile, the mighty Captain Kirk lay huddled in his bed, trying to forget the horrifying image he had seen.
The door was kicked down, and the Rahkshi platoon that stood guard over it was charged at by no less than four Toa. Bright flashes of light permeated the room, and unbearable high-frequency sound was accompanied by it. If the Rahkshi didn't shatter, they were vaporized. Each Toa was completely focused on their fight, and did not bother at attempts to communicate with each other: this would be the most intense battle any Toa in history had underwent, and each of them already knew exactly what they were doing. The group finished off the platoon of Rahkshi that failed to bar their way, and sprinted through the long corridor that was ahead of them. They rounded a corridor, and were confronted by a Makuta that was just as surprised as they were. The look of shock on its mask belied the anger and frusteration it felt as its chest armor was sliced open, and the antidermis inside incinerated with a furious blast of light. These Toa meant business: each of them carried protosteel weapons. From that moment on, no Makuta attempted to bar their path. The Toa expected the worst -- this could only mean there would be an ambush later. "Wait, I think I sense something." Said the Toa of sonics. "It sounds like..." he stopped talking. A look of deep horror creeped upon his face. The Toa of light kicked down the door on the wall of the hall, and were confronted with a Makuta-sized staircase. Without a moment's hesitation, the Toa of light rushed down. The Toa of sonics, however, stared vacantly at the open door before him, and began to ponder just what he had gotten himself into.
The Toa of light had reached the bottom of the staircase, and were right in thinking there would be an ambush: no less than 5 Makuta stood before them in this room. From here though, they could hear what Krakua had heard. An intense, cracking sound. A whip. "Takanuva!" Screamed Solek, he rushed in blindly, forcing the other two Toa of light that were with him to follow. He easily blasted one Makuta to dust, but the next knocked him aside into a nearby wall. Tanma and Photok locked swords with it, but an eruption of shadow energy sent both Toa careening toward the doorway they had just emerged from. Suddenly, and without warning, all 5 Makuta simply shattered. Before the doorway stood Toa Krakua, of sonics, his sword was pointed toward where the makuta had once been, and, furious, their respective antidermis clouds charged the Toa of sonics, aiming to destroy him in whatever way they could. Photok however, regained his senses in time to fling a final blast of light toward the disembodied antidermis clouds, incinerating them in the process.
The team took a moment to recover, then walked over to the opposite end of the room, where Takanuva, Toa of light, was prominently displayed, his arms and legs bound by manacles. His armor was severely scuffed, scratched, and damaged in general. Takanuva soon opened his eyes, and though barely conscious, was able to see his rescuers. "It's too late for me." He declared. The Kanohi Avohkii received a prompt slap on Tanma's part, "None of that, you! You're getting out of here alive, and that's an order!" Takanuva shook his head, "What you witnessed them do to me was the least of their sadism, I will not leave this place." Tanma sliced apart Takanuva's restraints in a blur of motion and demanded his fellow Toa get up from the ground, and accompany them. "Not going to happen," insisted Takanuva, "For a long time I morbidly wondered what the Makuta would do if they ever captured a real Toa of light -- now, I wish I never knew." Tanma grasped Takanuva by the scruff of the neck, and pinned him to the wall, "Enough of that! Don't be weak! You're coming with us, and that's final." Takanuva shook his head, and spoke about something other than himself, "I know where they're going to strike next." He declared. "Good, then you can tell us about it on the way out." Insisted Tanma. "Kronos... a planet called... Kronos... where is Mata Nui?" An annoyed sneer was splatted all over Tanma's miru, "Still dormant, like most gods tend to be when their spirits are bound to ancient artifacts of incredible power." Takanuva began to try and create a globe of light in his hand, but his wrist was slapped, "No! None of that! Quit trying to be a martyr! Don't waste your energy or I swear I will- I'll- Ugh! Just don't do that!" Takanuva was genuinely beginning to show worry at this point, "But- Kronos!" Tanma rolled his eyes, "What about it?" Takanuva again began to channel light energy into a globe. This time, he was slapped in the face, "Forget I asked! Now come on! We're getting out of here!" A portal suddenly appeared, and a golden being stepped out. "Good, you're here." Said Tanma to Brutakka almost immediately, "Where does that lead? New Odina, right?" Tanma stepped through the portal, and before him lay a black, barren wasteland. Floating rocks were scattered about, held together by flashes of yellow lightning. "Very funny Brutakka, new Odina. Now. I mean it."
"Kronos..." Takanuva said, struggling to stay awake.

"No. Seriously, why did you bring us to this miserable Karz-hole Brutakka?" Demanded Tanma, "We have a wounded man! Nay -- you KNEW we'd have a wounded man!" Brutakka's steely gaze met Tanma's, and it did not change. "Answer me you big brute!" Yelled Tanma. The gold-armored Order operative sighed deeply, "There's no use in taking you to New Daxia, because the only people left who would know how to save Takanuva are not on our side." Tanma scoffed at this, "As if! Gavla is still-" Brutakka's expression didn't change. Tanma cut himself off, because he knew what it meant when beings like Brutakka didn't change their expression. "No... she wouldn't have..."
New Daxia was the Order of Mata Nui's second base, after the first one from the Great Spirit Robot had been dismantled. It was a walled fortress built on an artificial plateu: an island in the midst of a flat desert, one might say. Since the fall of Teridax, the Order knew that their services would still be needed. In fact, New Daxia also happens to be built upon the new Pit. The second prison of its kind. Below the new Pit in fact, is the Order's darkest secret. Guarded by no more than 8 completely air-tight Maxilos robots was an artifact that could never again be suffered to see the light of day. It was a small chamber, with one entrance on one side, and another on the opposite end of the room. They weren't doors, but rather, rectangular opennings in the wall: any enemy that could get this deep would clearly not be stopped by a door, so there was no point in building one. As it so happens though, these were not just the only entrances -- they were also the only exits. And just for the sake of making things seem precarious and intimidating: the room was suspended atop an almost bottomless pit (because an actually bottomless pit would be metaphysically impossible). Indeed the entire room was just a long stone bridge with a bigger section at the center of the room, where of course, the artifact rested. Atop a pedestal at that.
Only two Order Operatives under Helryx know of the artifact's existence, or rather, that it still exists. And only they are ever allowed into the chamber, if at all.
Unfortunately: somebody besides those two didn't get the memo.
The being was Toa sized, and it wore a mask shaped like a noble avsa. Its armor was mostly blue, with silver as a secondary color. The being raised its arms as it silently crept just past the entrance, forming an 'X' with them across its chest. In its hands, it held a set of twin curved blades. The blades were jagged, almost crude-looking, but that belied their deadliness. The Toa-sized being suddenly swung both its arms out completely horizontally, and the two Maxilos that were unfortunate enough to be standing in front of the doorway had their robotic heads removed. The Toa marched forward, easily dispatching two other Maxilos with ease. The four remaining ones charged her, but then suddenly, a dark-red armored Toa skated- yes, skated onto the scene, lept into the air, and kicked one of the Maxilos with the blade of his skate-like feet. Another Toa, armored in black, posessed a pair of fist-weapons, and brutally punched the remaining 3 Maxilos into the ground with his brute strength alone.
Gavla stepped forward, the artifact at the center of the room, her prize, awaited. A voice, however, suddenly ringed out from behind her and her team. The voice was gruff, manly in every sense of the word, and was meant to be intimidating. "Just what do you think YOU'RE doing here, you three? Have you so quickly forgotten your heritage as Av-Toa?" Though their forms would otherwise suggest them to be the opposite, they were indeed Toa of light. They did, however, bear the scars of a corruption that had taken place long ago. "This is something we have to do, Axonn." Said Radiak, making no excuses. "That's what they all say." Said Axonn, as he hefted his almost titular axe, "I won't enjoy this." Gavla swiped her blades across each other, before enterring a fighting stance, "That's what they all say. But for what it's worth: neither will I."
Axonn roared and barrelled forth, swinging his axe wildly as if it were in fact, a sledgehammer. Radiak and Kirop jumped backwards from this attack, dodging. Gavla, on the other hand, actually swung around to the backside of the titanic Order Operative and thrusted one of her blades through a gap in his armor. Immediately, his assault was interrupted, as he suddenly realised that he had just been wounded. He fell onto his knees, uncharacteristic of his strength, and Radiak immediately took this opportunity to kick Axonn's kanohi Rode off. This was followed by Kirop punching the titan squarely in the face. With that, Gavla pulled back her blade, and allowed Axonn to fall over onto his back. He didn't move. An expression of slight mortification was soon strewn cross the three Toa's faces. "Is he going to be okay?" Asked Radiak almost timidly. Gavla squinted at Axonn from behind her mask, and made a judgement based on what she saw, saying, "He'll live. But he won't be the warrior he once was."
She turned from Axonn's unconscious body, and turned to the artifact. She triumphantly stepped toward it, and sliced apart the pedastel that held it. Even as there was nothing below it, the artifact still remained in place: floating in the air eerily. With an air of calm and poise, Gavla outstretched her arm, and allowed the kanohi Kraahkan to gentley fall into her clawed hand, where it rested seethingly. "At last," she said, "I will now do with this mask what the Order should have done with it in the first place."

Destroy it? Use it?! Eat it?!?!
Better question: how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll?
The answers to both questions are the same: the world may never know.

James T. Kirk cowered In his bed, but deep in his heart: he knew there was no escaping what he saw. A pair of seething red right triangles, pointed right at him, they were eyes. The eyes peered at him from behind a pitch black mask that turned evil itself into a simple, yet incomprehensible image. The mask in fact, had not one, but two faces. The one Captain Kirk saw, and the one on the top of itself. One side of the mask could stare at you for hours, and burn into your very soul. The other, was more subtle. The mask betrayed in physical form the two sides of evil: the one that simply destroys, and the one that appeals to the mind. Together: they are a force of darkness that could surely crumble anything so long as it goes unopposed. This was the kanohi Kraahkan, and Kirk will never forget the day he saw it.
It simply appeared out of thin air on the viewing screen. Or at least, its image did. First: all the stars in the horizon vanished, leaving only darkness in their wake. Then, all power on the ship inexplicably went out: nobody on board could see anything. Then, very suddenly, it appeared. The mask of shadows. The kanohi Kraahkan. It was a terrible thing, and yet, it wasn't really there. A voice spoke, however, to all the inhabitants in the crew, and this is what it said: "Surely, you will all perish. And your vessel, shall belong to the Makuta race, FOREVER!!!!" There was no laughter following these words -- only the threat itself. Whoever said this wasn't some crazed maniac, it was a truly malicious being. Even First Officer Spock conceded that, against all logic, it could have been a spirit of some kind. To be driven to that point clearly meant he was just as rattled as everyone else on board, in his own strange, half-Vulcan way. "Whatever it is," he said, "It means to do us great harm, and it can." The mask on the viewing screen vanished -- but the impression it left on the crew's mind did not. The seeds of doubt had been sowed, and indeed, planted. It would only be a matter of time before they were reaped.
KRAKABOOOOOM!!!!! (As they say in the comics) a massive explosion rocked the entire ship! "Wh-?! Full power to shields!" Blurted Spock suddenly. The attack had come without warning, and was completely unexpected. The two people on the console before Spock quickly scrambled to raise the shields, and they were indeed put up. Another volley hit, and nearly all of the shield's energies were already absorbed. "Computer! What is hitting us?!" Shouted Spock. After a series of loud almost typewriter-like sounds, the computer finally came back with a response, "Unable to identify."
Captain Kirk remained huddled in his bed, hugging a pillow, still unable to put the terrifying image of the Kraahkan out of his mind. The distinct whirring sound of the ship's comm could be heard in Captain Kirk's quarters, and it was followed by Spock's voice saying, "Captain, we are under attack, we need you here!" Kirk didn't say anything, nor did he move. He remained in bed, scared. "Captain! It is your duty to report to the bridge unless you are ill!" Said Spock in an effort to remind the Captain of his duties. The Captain, in fact however, still remained unmoving. "I'll go get him," said Dr. McCoy, who happened to be on the bridge at the time, "I know Jim, he would of responded by now unless something was wrong." Spock nodded in agreement and got up from the Captain's chair to try and analyze what was happening around the ship.
When McCoy got into Kirk's quarters, he immediately said, "Get up Jim! They need you up there!" The Captain however, still didn't move. Dr. McCoy then entered the room, and saw the state his Captain was in. With great sorrow, McCoy activated the communicator in Krik's room, "Spock, you're not going to believe this." He said. Spock, as he often does, arched his eyebrow, and asked the doctor what had happened, "Is he dead, Doctor?" McCoy's response revealed that there would be no such luck. Instead, it would be a far deeper truth. One that was wholesomely more disturbing, "It's worse than that: he's in shock, Spock."

"You can't tell me that we're not going to try to save Takanuva's life." Said Tanma, stubbornly. Brutaka, not in the mood to suffer stubbornness, protested of course, "What use is it? All you will end up doing is getting into a fight with a former friend, and sealing Takanuva's fate before he can give us the information we need about the impending Makuta attack!" Tanma grumbled for a moment, but suddenly, had a thought, "she stole the kanohi Kraahkan, yes? Shouldn't we stop her?" Brutaka at last saw wisdom in Tanma's words, and opened a portal for him. "Fine then. Go! Quickly now!" He said, "she will run if she suspects something." Tanma stepped through the portal, dragging Takanuva with him. Photok and Solek followed, and Brutaka also went through. When they emerged on the other side, Gavla and her team were right in front of them. Gavla furrowed her brow at this development, and was just about to signal for her team to run, when Brutaka suddenly groaned in pain. Tanma's Katana had found a gap in the titan's armor, within short order the golden Order operative fell forward, and Tanma took his kanohi Olmak. Tanma at this point turned his gaze to his former friend, and said, "Come now, Gavla. You didn't REALLY think we would go against a fellow Toa of light, no matter the circumstances?" Gavla, unconvinced, crossed her arms, "Tanma, you and I both know you want something from me." Tanma frowned slightly, "you're right... actually..." he admitted. he was quick to show Gavla the rapidly fading Toa of light, Takanuva, "The Makuta did something to him, and you're the only one we know of who can fix something like this." Gavla, at this, almost rolled her eyes as she said, "It's always the females who have to heal somebody, isn't it?" Tanma shrugged benignly, and there was a brief moment's awkward pause. Eventually though: Gavla relented, and motioned for Tanma and his group to follow her, but said nothing else.
"Doctor, please inform me on why you think that being in shock is worse than death." Logic demanded Spock say this, and it was a question McCoy was prepared for, "Because, Spock:" he began, "It means he has failed in his duties to command this ship. He may never be our captain again." A loud explosion, louder than ever before, rocked the entire ship. "Weapons bay! Prepare all torpedoes! Fire in random directions! Do not worry about aiming -- there's so many of these creatures that we're bound to hit something!" As always, Spock was right: and thanks to his quick thinking, the Enterprise's attackers were being blasted out of the sky one by one. The hideous swarm of creatures then retreated, vanishing into the blackness of space. "Engineering! Get us out of here! Resume our course to Kronos! It is our only hope!" Within minutes: warp factor 9 was achieved, and the Enterprise sped along into the cosmos once more, having gained but a short reprieve.

New Stelt was just as desolate, and run-down as its predecessor. It is not at all an ideal spot for anyone to hide from those who would be looking for them. That said, Gavla made it work, and this is in spite of the well known fact that the people of Stelt, just like the Makuta that once served as overseer to their land, are incurable snitches. When asked questions, they gladly loose their tongues, hoping the worst for whoever it is they've been asked about. As such, Gavla made it a point to be completely unseen, and completely unheard. She had found a hiding spot in old inn that was no longer in use. Enter it while invisible, and nobody would even know that there were Toa of light hiding there. Fortunately, no such coordinated effort would have to be made, for these Toa possessed a kanohi Olmak after all. They entered directly inside the inn via a portal, and were quick to place Takanuva somewhere remotely comfortable. They managed to find a table of solid construction that hadn't disintegrated with time, and put Takanuva on top of it. It was at this point that Gavla began to inspect Takanuva's injuries, "Gosh. Just what did they put him through, Tanma?" She asked, noting that Takanuva's armor hadn't been significantly penetrated anywhere. "We don't know. The only thing we heard was the cracking of a whip -- but beyond that, we have no idea what they did to him." he answered. It was at this point Gavla consorted with her teammates on the nature of various kraata powers that could have caused Takanuva's present condition. They immediately struck down poisoning, because there was no signs of infection on Takanuva's body, and his kanohi Avohkii was clean and unblemished as always to boot. Disintegration and fragmentation were ruled out as well, because Takanuva would not survive such an attack. "What if..." Tanma began, "what if... they just shadow bolted him?" The 6 Toa of light could do nothing but stare at Takanuva's rapidly deteriorating form, unsure of what to do. Gavla, thinking of nothing else, created a globe of light in her hand, and held it aloft, "only one thing to do that might work. Fill him with light, assuming he's lost any." Shrugging in a way that communicated "here goes nothing." she gentley brought her hand down and placed it on Takanuva's chest. As is customary with such exchanges of elemental energy, his body began to glow brightly, very brightly. Suddenly, Takanuva grasped Gavla's arm, and began shouting at her. "You! Traitor! After what I did for you back in Karda Nui! How could you?!-" Gavla, quite shocked, could think of nothing else to do but pull her hand away from the raving Takanuva, who promptly got off the table and brandished his staff. "You've betrayed us all you monster!" Tanma, at that moment, punched Takanuva straight in the face. Knocking him out cold. At this Tanma dusted his hands off in the way one does after having punched somebody in the face. "Maniac." he said in profound disappointment.
Several Klingon warships hovered in orbit above Kronos -- one of the last free planets in the galaxy. Its military might was unparalleled. Not even the Romulan empire could hope to overcome its defenses -- let alone the bloodthirsty lunatics who inhabit it. However... the threat it would face today is unlike anything that had ever come before it. The enemy is so strong that the mighty empire has been forced to withdraw all of its forces to the mother planet. Indeed, the Klingons are no longer concerned with protecting their lands: they are concerned with protecting the very existence of their species.
They were also practicing their skills in the English language... another act that nobody would have expected of the Klingons.
Indeed, their comm chatter was rife with orders being shouted in English, demanding that their ships be in better condition than when they were first made -- as if that were even possible.
They had gone as far as to eat those stupid little colored cubes that Humans aboard starships liked to eat. But they often found the flavor to be sorely lacking, which increased their respect for the Humans: they reasoned that any race that is willing to eat terrible food in the line of duty must be brave indeed.
Of course, colored cubes were taken off the menu after short order, and replaced once again with traditional Klingon delicacies.
Out of the inky blackness of space, a flying saucer revealed itself to the Klingon warships. It bore the name Enterprise, and it lacked the rest of its body.
"Tanma?!" asked Gavla, completely in shock, and not able to think of anything else to say. She remained dumbstruck as Tanma began to bind Takanuva to a nearby wall. She spoke again, having managed to assemble a thought, "What the actual Karzahni do you think you're doing Tanma? That is THE Takanuva! Toa of light!" "He's also an idiot," answered Tanma, "and we have no need for martyrs in our line of work." Gavla thought of this for a moment, but immediately was able to poke a hole in Tanma's logic, "He's right though, Tanma... I am a traitor." Tanma ignored this statement, and began constructing another set of makeshift manacles to bind Takanuva's ankles to the wall, "Hogwash. All you did was steal the Kanohi Kraahkan from the Order of Mata Nui, and I can't imagine them doing anything that actually helps the universe. You must of had a good reason -- and I believe you." In spite of Tanma saying this however, Gavla: in a defiant attempt to justify her guilt, made one last logical assumption, "...he is the Toa of light though..." Tanma struck down Gavla's supposition with one last flawless piece of evidence, "Takanuva is also the one who mercilessly blasted Krika. It is a truly dark day when a Makuta is willing to show mercy, but a Toa is not. I'm not even going to ask you what you're doing with the Kraahkan Gavla -- you've got this." Takanuva was at last bound to the wall, it was at this, that Tanma grabbed Tanma's arm, "Now listen, that is only going to hold him for about 10 seconds once he wakes up. Before we forced him here -- he told us the next planet the Makuta were going to attack." The brow of Gavla's noble-shaped avsa suddenly arched upwards, "Where?" She asked. Tanma took off his noble-shaped miru, and put on an Olmak, "Kronos, apparently." He said, creating a portal.
Gavla and Tanma, at this, motioned for their respective teams to follow them through the gateway.
