OOC: It probably could be. Either way, it's not something to fuss about.
"Indeed..." Karthon replies. "Perhaps I could ask a favour of you, sir? I am bound for Oruthal along with some acquaintances of mine..."
OOC: Oh well, I'll spell how it was from now on anyway.
He shakes his head, "I'm afraid not. I can't take the risk with my crew or my ship. But I might know someone who will." He points over at a mean-looking man with a bushy beard a few docks down. "See him? That's Captain Ferran. He's been itching to join the fight against those Xains, but his crew abandoned him, seeing as they want to keep their lives and all. If you have enough men to crew his ship, he might take you."

"Thank you sir." Karthon said shaking the man's hand. With that he bid him farewell and turned back to Alpida. "You were right when you said none would take us, save that Captain over there," he said pointing a few docks down, "but we'll need a crew to secure the chance. You wouldn't happen to know any who would be capable enough..?"

"No problem."
"I can, but for a ship of that size we will need ten or so. We will have to look around, start asking if anyone is interested in fighting the Xains. Assuming he has no crew at all, we will need a sailing master, a boatswain and maybe a carpenter, a few riggers, and some regular sailors."
OOC: Of course Alpida knows how to sail. She grew up on an island.

Karthon's reply was sweeping his hair back with both hands, and letting out a long, steady sigh. "Right. Where should we start?"
OOC: I'm back. What do you want me to do? As far as I can tell, this group isn't on the island.
OOC: They're not, but your reinforcements are.
IC: With the aid of reinforcements from the east, especially several riders of Orodrakus, the Oruthal army is able to hold its own against the Xains. Still, the Xains greatly out number them, and their spellcasters are able to limit the effectiveness of the Orodrakus.

OOC: That's one.
"See if they have any taverns nearby, I suppose." Alpida leads the group to the nearest tavern. It is dimly-lit and not particularly clean. Groups of sailors sit at the tables, taking up most of the available space.

Karthon looks about, not feeling very confident of acquiring a crew hardy enough for the journey ahead. Attempting to fend off against the hopelessness rising about him he weeds out the friendliest looking table and approaches the crew cautiously. "Good day, gentlemen. This crew isn't for hire by any chance..?" And, with that that said he shot Alpida a concerned glance.
