OOC: howdy gang, I'm back, sorry about that. *Aaron has been standing a little away, studying his notes and samples while keeping half an ear on the meeting*
OOC: anything of note?
OOC: No problem. Not really.
OOC: ah, I was hoping I would find samples of dinosaurs that roamed Castle years ago
As soon as Logaire begins the meeting, a tall, bulky minotaur stands and says, "Who are you to call us here? What clan do you call yourself the chief of?"
"Do none of you have a guess? I am Logaire Adarcafad, chief of the Adarcafad clan, the last Great Chief."
There is a moment of silence as they all process this, and then the same minotaur speaks again. "Even if you are who you claim to be, and you have lived a thousand years to call us together once again, you are no chief. The Adarcafad clan is no more, destroyed in the clan war that you must remember all too well."
"My clan was broken, perhaps, but not destroyed. The Adharc clan, the Hammer Horns of the north, still bear our lineage and much of our name. They are still my clan, and when the war I have brought you together to fight is over I will bring them home."
The other minotaur is silenced for now, but he looks displeased. Logaire continues. "I understand that many of you may have concerns, but I will allow you time to bring them forward despite the urgency of the matter I have brought you here to discuss. Before I do so, however, I must tell you what I can about this war. To do so, I bring forward Amion Orn Melar of the Forest Band, for he knows best the threat we face." He ushers Amion onto the platform where he stands. Before he steps down, he whispers, "Tell them what you know, and then answer any questions they have. I will be here if you need any assistance."
OOC: LegoBuilder : I hope you don't mind my use of Casur's name. I just thought it would help bring some stuff together.
Amin steps forward. "I am Amion son of Amduil, part of the Forest Band. I stand before you today because of events happening in the East. An army of around 6000, possibly more are marching upon this continent. They are powerful men with great magic behind them. They want one thing: this continent for themselves. I... We are asking you to aid us, fight with us, against their power we are strong, but not strong enough. Fight for the sake of freedom.
The chiefs all begin shouting, a garbled mess of words, but a few questions are clear.
From the tall minotaur that spoke before: "Why should we trust you?"
From a smaller male minotaur with dark fur: "What is in it for us?"
From a male with reddish fur and sharpened teeth: "Is that all the information you have for us?"
And, finally, from the female with so many painted markings that her fur is all but entirely hidden: "What other preparations have you made to fight this force?"

"You should trust me because I am telling the truth. What's in it for you? Your freedom for one. As I said, these Xains, as they are called are out to conquer anything and everything So you are probably not excluded from their list. We are stronger together, otherwise they'll pick us off one by one. I know a bit more, but the leader of the Dragon Knights or Alphida, the grayling, will know more about them and our plans, but if you want more information I might be able to answer a few questions later. I know the Dragon knights were planning a large plan involving dragons and many of the groups are joining."

They seem pacified for now, but he might want to keep an eye on the first two. Logaire steps up onto the pedestal and nods for Amion to go back. "I think it is time for a vote. On the matter of going to war against the Xain Empire, I, Logaire Adarcafad, vote yes."
The same tall minotaur stands up next, "I, Damhan Cruladir, vote no." Immediately after him, three others stand. A smaller male with white fur: "I, Fionnlagh Finnasnet, vote no." An old, dark-eyed male: "I, Odhran Sulegal, vote no." A female with a wide snout: "I, Neasa Smulathan, vote no." A young, pale-furred male with many decorations tied into his fur stands: "I, Torin Co###ha, vote yes." An older male with a twinkle in his eye stands: "I, Daith Alsulor, vote yes." The smaller, dark-furred male stands: "I, Goban Clochbrisir, vote no." A dark-furred female with a sad look stands: "I, Aobheann Finnasoch, vote no." The female with the painted markings stands: "I, Sairse Pintalit, vote yes." The red-furred male with sharp teeth stands: "I, Faolan Matrifacla, vote no." A young, short-tailed female stands: "I, Rionach Irebagar, vote yes." A smaller female with thinner, paler fur and wide hooves stands: "I, Ide Ganamitir, vote yes." There is only one more chief left to vote. There are six votes yes and seven no. Logaire whispers to Amion, "In the case of a tie, the Great Chief's vote is the decider." The last chief stands, a huge, bulky male: "I, Cathair Nertmore, vote no." Logaire waits a moment and then says, "On the matter of going to war against the Xain Empire, the decision is no." He is visibly saddened as he steps down from the pedestal.

"I have heard the answer and yet I do not understand it. Why have you chosen this? Why have you chosen to hide while darkness falls upon this land? Why have you chosen to conceal your great strength and courage from the rest of this world. Are you not the minotaurs I've heard of, always seeking adventure and honor? But, if that is your decision, I must honor it. If that is your choice, I can not change it."

Logaire places a hand on his shoulder. "Actually, there is one more thing we can try. But it will be dangerous for all of us." He gestures at Aaron and the soldiers. "I can invoke the right to trial by combat, but I am not allowed to fight myself. I will have to make the four of you honorary members of the Adarcafad clan and one of you will have to face their champion in unarmed combat. And just as importantly, it will take another vote that we may not win."
OOC: ah, I was hoping I would find samples of dinosaurs that roamed Castle years ago
OOC: No such luck. Maybe if you do an Event someday. Out of curiosity, do you happen to have a name for Aaron's father and does Aaron have any titles of any sort?
no, I haven't gone that in depth really, but I could.

'Out of curiosity'? Don't you mean 'Out of the need for more information to use for future events'?

I mean "Out of the need for information to use in this Event, right now."

OOC: I cannot read Logaire's name without thinking of Logain from the Wheel of Time series.
