It wasn't particularly crude, just... boring. I also got pretty sick of Jordan's treatment of women as either inferior submissive creatures or nagging authority features.
Apparently he based them off his wife I do feel as though that changes after a while, but yeah, although the first and second are some of his best, the books at the start just aren't as great as the later ones. The last three books have an amazing plotline, in fact even the last four or five have a much better story in my opinion. Maybe because he stops focussing on character build and actually moves the story forwards.
Have you read anything by Brandon Sanderson? If you like the last three books the most and Androl is your favorite character, you really should.
Roughly, yeah, but the last few books are longer, and much easier to read. If I could of found them all I would have read them all in a year. Unfortunately I found book 12 and book 13 before most of the others, so I think I ruins some of it for myself But, since I didn't find the rest for a while I had more or less forgotten what had happened in them I'm surprised at how many people here have read them
The first few books aren't the easiest thing I've read I have had school and I have been vary busy and will be gone every weekend this month again. I found the wiki. I tryed to stay away but I all ready know to much. I just can't stop myself. I need to know whats going on, and what will happen. So I have defently runed some of it for me. Though its not as bad as when I looked at the timeline in the back of RotK to see if the ring was destroyed .
When I was reading them and I saw something/someone that seemed like it might be important I always looked at the Wiki. I have a weird view of spoilers though, so it didn't bother me too much.

I love Brandon Sanderson... Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to read the Mistborn series, but I've read a few of his others and they were excellent. Have you read the Kingkiller Chronicles, by Patrick Rothfuss?

I haven't read Mistborn either because it's not at my library. I have not. The first two books are at my library, so maybe I'll give it a try when the last one comes out.

I always mean to read some of his books but I always forget. Do you mean that there are more characters like him?
One mod to rule them all and in the darkness ban them - Lord of the Mods "I am the Mod Reborn!" - masterlegobuilders I'm the real boss

I just realised I never replied when you asked me if I had read the Kingkiller Chronicles. No, I haven't. Are they good?

But it's the Wheel of Time. Everyone is important somehow. You usually hear of a character more than once.
{JAMMERS! Wheel of Time Completers ONLY!} Like the village where they come back to life every day. After they escape you never expect to see them again. And then, in Tarmon Gai'don, my second favourite character, Matrim Cauthon calls them up to retake the dam at the top of the river.

With no exaggeration, they are the best books I've ever read, even though they are fantasy books. They are genuinely brilliant, and nothing has ever competed with them for first place. I'm quite a fan. The writing is excellently done, the story is smooth and easy to get into, there are all sorts of themes and ideas floating around, and so much ground is covered so quickly and so well.

Unfortunately, the ext one isn't likely to come out any time soon. I'd heartily recommend you read the two as is. If you're a decently fast reader, it won't take you long, even though they're big books - it took me a day or two to read each.
