So, I just watched season 14 yesterday. It's only four episodes, but I really didn't like it.
First, it was extremely rushed. Episode one could've been three different episodes, and what's really weird is that there's some unnecessary filler despite the fact that it's so rushed.
Second, I felt like the dialogue and everything as a whole was just weird. It didn't feel like Ninjago at all. Only Lloyd and Jay had any significance in this season. The plot was all over the place. I can't even tell what the main conflict is. The main villain is revealed in like the last episode iirc, and they did him a dirty imo.
I liked all the seasons better than this, including Day of the Departed. Before I watched this, my least favorite season was season 11. It was okay, but it really felt like a little kid's show. Season 10 was amazing imo so that was a bit disappointing. Though, after season 11, I really liked Prime Empire and Master of the Mountain (it felt like old Ninjago to me). The Island feels a lot like Ninjago, but just for little kids, tbh.
Anyway, tell me what you thought of this season, if you'd like. I'm happy for anyone who enjoyed it, and I hope the next season is more enjoyable.

Where can I watch it? Is it just on YT? Also, are the episodes only 11 minutes like the previous seasons? It's sad that that was Kirby Morrow's last performance as Cole, if it's as bad as you say.

Yeah. It's there. The episodes are like 10 minutes long and there's only four episodes in the season. Yeah, it's really sad, especially since Cole barely has any lines in this season.
OK, I just watched it. And uhhhhh, I basically agree with everything you just said. Why did they have to rush it? Wouldn't Lego or whoever's in charge of the show had made a better profit if they'd taken more time to create an entire season as usual? I keep wondering if this was for some sort of special or something.

I just watched it, and...it doesn't feel, real, somehow? Like, it doesn't feel like Ninjago, I dunno. It just felt so weirdly rushed and awkward.
{Spoilers!} And really, Ronin? I just really don't believe he would do that after...everything, ya know? I actually kind of thought it was an interesting concept, just badly executed.

Right?? It felt more like watching a Wattpad fanfic, minus the shipping.
{Spoilers} I know, I was like "WHAT THE HECK! THAT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, DOWN THE TOILET!" They did my boi dirty. -,- And you're right, it's not as if the concepts are bad, they're actually fine and potentially really interesting... I just don't know how they keep messing it up. XP

I mean, this is still not a season in my mind. It was so weird. Have you been up to date with Seabound though? Man THAT season is great so far.

Wait, season 14 and Seabound aren't the same season? Man, I'm so out of the loop...

No, I actually haven't watched it yet. I'm looking forward to it though since it seems like people like it.

So, having watched The Island, I can agree with a lot of Henny's points about the season, but here are a few of my thoughts on The Island:
First, why did the ninja approach a storm belt in what looked like flimsy, sail-powered crafts?
Second, it seems like the action escalated really quickly.
Third, how much space does the Bounty have? So far they've launched three water vehicles and three huge motorcycles.
Fourth, it feels like there's too much going on in each scene. Like there's action scene after action scene and you never get a chance to process the action.
Fifth, the dialogue wasn't awful, but the way it was read was very bitty, as if someone chopped up the conversations and stuck them back together again, leaving spaces, or as if the characters were reading a script, I mean, you know, obviously the voice actors were reading from a script, but I don't think it should sound like they're reading from a script.
Overall, season 14 reminded me of one of those videos you get on YouTube, like ''Season 14, The Island, all actionscenes'' and the fact that it was so short and kind of thin put me in mind of a Special, like ''Day of the departed'', especially the ending.
All in all, it wasn't that bad, and I would probably watch it again, but it's a huge contrast with ''The Mountain'' and other great seasons.

To answer your first question, probably the Ninja were inspired after watching Moana...
