Season 9 makes place for A LOT of fanfics, and I mean a lot. I also have A LOT of short story drafts about what happened before, during, and after the first episode. Of course, my instincts tell me to make these as CanonTM as possible, so these short stories are more of a fun way of just making Hunted more rich in story. Also, to add in the Ninjago Stories pile.
Here's one I made about Skylor and the Masters before Firstbourne. Enjoy!
The master of Amber stood among her peers, all of them huddling around her inside the Ninjago City garbage depot, their new base.
The ruling of Lord Garmadon and Harumi and their lackeys had taken attention from the elementals, knowing that the city Garmadon is turning into ruins is the city they'd once fought to protect against Master Chen and his anacondrais. Some had chosen to help, while the others remain hidden, out of contact.
Skylor appreciated what they had now, with only seven of them, helping by their own good will.
"Trucks ready, Karlof?" Skylor asked the master of Metal. His grin appeared, wide.
"Yes, ma'am!"
Skylor turned to the mysterious old lady who told her and the Masters about the Ninja's hideout. She was sipping an odd smelling cup of tea, appearing tranquil as ever.
"Are you sure they're there, Miss?" Skylor asked. All the elementals faced the old lady.
"Mistakè, Skylor. And, yes, I'm sure."
'Well then, if you say so,' Skylor thought.
She turned back to the Masters, drawing a deep breath.
"My fellow elementals! Again, I thank you for joining me and Karlof on helping the ninja. Now, we can fix this city! We will take down the evil Garmadon! Rescue Bolobo from the SoG! Free Ninjago!"
Cheers erupted from the Masters six. Skylor shushed them.
"Remember, this is a secret base. Our mission begins. Shade, Turner, Karlof, board the trucks." The three did as she told them. Skylor went to the other three.
"Tox, Neuro, Mister Pale, are you sure you're staying back?"
Tox opened her mouth to argue, but then was held back by Neuro.
"Someone's got to protect the base," Neuro said.
"Ffffffine." Tox crossed her arms. Skylor laughed.
"Thank you, Tox," Skylor said. The master of Poison showed a thin but sincere smile.
"They're not here!" The master of Speed ran to the garbage truck his friends were in, bearing the worst news Skylor has gotten all day.
The Amber elemental panicked. 'This is where Mistakè said it was, right?' She thought. Yes, it was exactly what the old lady had said. Near the cargo hauling place, in the old, dark, and cold building. She didn't know where else to look.
"Did you find that symbol thing?" Karlof asked Turner while Skylor stood silent, pondering on where to search next.
"Yeah, the old dude with a beard symbol, right? I saw it on the door. When I went in, there was just this big, bulky suit-armour thing, and nothing else."
"Big bulky suit armour thing?" Skylor asked, snapped into reality.
"Yeah, it was like, samurai style. So creepy," Turner shivered.
'Nya's suit!' Skylor smiled. 'Although,' She just remembered, her smile turning into a scowl, 'Isn't Nya the water ninja now? And wasn't she obsessed with who the new Samurai X was? Didn't she think it was me?'
Skylor remembered the night where Kai had discovered the truth about their father being evil and sharing his disappointment with Skylor, who knew exactly what it felt to have an evil father. They had a moment then, Skylor remembered sweetly, until Nya barged in to tell him that the 'new Samurai X' was Skylor herself.
"Uh.. Skylor?"
Skylor noticed she was smiling all by herself. She blushed, shaking her head.
"The ninja can't be far," She said, trying to put herself in Leader Mode again, "Search out!"

Can't wait to see all these.
A Skylor short story, yes! Nice!
Mental note: Put away all the Tox short stories and make more about Skylor

@bold Heh, I was so mad at Nya for that. XD
Yeah, when I figured out Kai was talking to Skylor, and Nya interrupted them, it kinda reminded me of when it was Jay and Nya were having a moment, then Kai interrupted them. I was all

It's great to see more Elemental Masters content! They are definitely the real MVPs behind the scenes.

Yeah, and it's so much nicer that they get much more screen time in season 9! Tox even talks, isn't that great?

They are truly siblings.
Ikr. I wonder if their parents had that trait too. That'd be adorable.
"So, where were we?" Neuro asked Tox, after the others left on their mission.
"Where were we on what?" Tox said coldly, suddenly so interested in the depot's walls, studying them closely.
"You know, about the masters of Form and Smoke, Chamille and Ash?"
"Oh," Tox scowled, "That one."
"What happened with the lovebirds anyways?" Paleman chimed in.
Tox refused to answer, still watching the walls, so Neuro instinctively used his element. He put his hands on his temples, tapping into Tox's mind.
"Tox was best friends with Chamille," Neuro described her memories out loud, "Then, they had a fight. Ash intervined and made it worse and-"
"Do you mind?" Tox asked, crossing her arms and turning to Neuro with a 'seriously?' look on her face.
Neuro stopped, putting his hands down. "Sorry."
Tox sighed.
"Yeah, she was my friend. Though, when she unlocked her elemental dragon, she got really..cocky. She started horribly misusing the dragon to scare people to get what she wants and stuff. So did Ash, always in sync. We stopped talking after that.
"When I got to her doorstep to ask for help in the Resistance, telling her how Ninjago City was, she just upright slammed the door in my face."
"Then what was that fight Neuro said was about?" Paleman asked.
"Oh, that was when Chamille started threatening people with dragons. It's horrible what she's doing. She knows that the ninja helped us unlock our elemental dragons, and she wont help them now?"
"That sounds..pretty evil," Neuro said.
"Are you sure she's not part of the Sons of Garmadon?" Paleman asked.
"No, of course not. They're not that insane. I miss 'em too, those selfish jerks," Tox admitted crossly.
Paleman softened, nearing Tox. He mustered up enough courage to put his hand on her shoulder, and surprisingly, Tox didn't react or tell him to back off. It was a good sign, he thought.
"They're not your only friends," Neuro said, Paleman nodding.
Tox smirked. "That's really sappy," She said, "But thanks."
