Hello! My name is Drake. Drake Cahill. Those of you who don't know me, I was an old LMBer and participated in every single RP. Those of you who know me, well, I feel sorry for you.
You may have noticed I've been putting up some new topics and areas. I'm just trying to help make this roleplay more active and popular. I hope you don't mind, which I think you don't, because nobody's told me otherwise. Uh, I think.
So, as I understand it, this RP is a dimension that lack four key characters: Kai, Cole, Jay and Zane. To a further extent, Wu, Garmadon, Misako, Lloyd, and Nya. This opens up a variety of opportunities for a new world, but we need to set the stage.
You all know the continuing story of Ninjago. This is not the situation in the RP. We need something simple, like, ah... well, Ninjago is basically a big island, filled with evil... the elements are forces of nature that give chosen ones it's elemental power... and special weapons allow the elemental masters to use that power.
Sound good? Good. A basic outline to keep things open.
Now, the old elemental weapon dungeon system was too complicated, as I've heard. I think I've come up with a solution.
BTW, if there was already a better solution, let me know, and I'll keep my yapper shut.
If there isn't, or my idea is better, than cool, we'll go with that.
Okay, so basically, I got the idea from this game I play. It's called MARVEL Puzzle Quest. Great game, I highly reccomend it.
Every few weeks or so is classified as a season. Each season has special points which can be earned via special events. The points are applied to a meter, and the higher you get on the meter, the better rewards you get.
Another game: Star Wars Commander. Highly reccomended. Every month or so is an event. Each event brings new items and unlockables to the game. BUT you can only unlock these items during the special event. You unlock them by gaining points on the leaderboard.
A combination of these similar tactics will give us the perfect RPing weapon upgrade system.
Below I will post an example of the system and how it would work.
I am Kai, Master of Fire. I have a simple sword, but I need a new weapon to further enhance my powers.
To see what weapon's availible, I check to see what the current event is.
Below is a list of specific events and weapons unlockables, along with the weapon's unique ability.
>Golden Weapons Event - Reward: Gold Weapon (Can transform into a custom vehicle.)
>Fangblade Event - Reward: Fang Weapon (Gives the wielder a chosen Sepentine power.)
>Elemental Power Event - Reward: Elemental Weapon (Gives the user pure elemental powers.)
>Tech Blade Event - Reward: Tech Weapon (Allows the user to hack technology, such as vehicles, computers, and Nindroid NPCs.)
>Jade Blade Event - Reward: Jade Weapon (Unlocks an elemental dragon.)
>Obsidian Weapon Event - Reward: Obsidian Weapon (Special event: players lose their powers and must find their Obsidian Weapon without powers. Only when the event is over or when the Obsidian Weapon is found can the player have their powers back.)
>Deepstone Event - Reward: Deepstone Weapon (Is effective against all beings, mortal or not.)
>Djinn Event - Reward: Djinn Weapon (Wielder must defeat an NPC--skeleton, snake, Stone Warrior, whatever--and the NPc will be absorbed into the Djinn blade. The wielder can then call the NPC into battle to assist.)
>Time Blade Event - Reward: Time Weapon (Once unlocked, the user picks an ability. The four possible abilities are move time forward, move time backward, pause time, and slow time down. Each power is only temporary. Once the wielder picks a power, he can use that power as long as he has the weapon.
Now, it is currently the Golden Weapon Event. Kai wants that Gold Weapon.
So he goes to the Golden Peaks, which is where he'd find a Golden Weapon. But he must face trials, which are fairly easy. After all, it's a Level 1 weapon. He fights a guy, solves a puzzle, and builds a device that gets him to the top. Then he forges a weapon of his choice, and voila, he has a custom vehicle. In this case, he chooses a bike.
Now, he goes out into the world, does some stuff, until the next event comes along.
He wants a Fangblade. So, like before, he scales Torchfire Mountain, where he can get a Fangblade. But wait, before he begins on his journey, he realizes he doesn't have a Fang. No Fang, no blade.
Where can he get one? Just so happens a merchant is selling Fangs for only two Gold Tokens.
Ah, Tokens. You see, when you get a weapon, you got it. That's it. You can't get more than one. But the seasons will repeat eventually. So what happens?
If you repeat the challenges for a weapon you already have, you recieve a certain number of valuable Tokens. Below is a list of Tokens and how many you will receive if you complete the challenges.
>Gold Token - 10 Tokens
>Fang Token - 9 Tokens
>Elemental Token - 8 Tokens
>Tech Token - 7 Tokens
>Jade Token - 6 Tokens
>Obsidian Token - 5 Tokens
>Deepstone Token - 4 Tokens
>Djinn Token - 3 Tokens
>Time Token - 2 Tokens
The next list will list the Token, followed by it's worth.
>Gold Token - 3
>Fang Token - 5
>Elemental Token - 5
>Tech Token - 5
>Jade Token - 5
>Obsidian Token - 10
>Deepstone Token - 10
>Djinn Token - 10
>Time Token - 10
What do these mean? It means two Gold Tokens are worth more than a Jade Token. Gold = 3, 3x2=6, Jade = 5, 6>5. Math, bruh.
Anyway, Kai goes back to the Golden Peaks to complete the challenges and returns with Tokens. He gets it notified at an OOC topic, and then he can go trade with the merchant for the Fang.
Kai has the Fang. He then climbs Torchfire Mountain, overcoming slightly more difficult challenges than before. But he finally makes it, and forges a Fang Weapon. He chooses the power of the Venomari.
But now he's got two swords. Dilemna? If this keeps up, he could end up carrying, like, ten swords on his back. Solution? We look to history.
In Bionicle (the classic one, not the rip-off from 2015), the Toa could merge their various masks onto their faces. I'm not sure if that was exactly the case, that's just what it looked like in the comics.
Anyway, the weapons could all just merge together into one weapon. Whenever Kai needs a specific weapon, the weapon simply shifts to that color and power. Bada-bang, bada-boom.
This continues forever until Kai perishes.
So, that's about it for that. I hope you understood/enjoyed/survived my well-thought out ideas. All and any questions, comments and critiscisms will be read and thought over, and possibly, adapted into a single, solid idea that is fun, easy, and enjoyable. All insults to my personal being will be ignored with extreme indifference.
Thanks you for reading, DC13
