Percival, an exceedingly vain peacock who once served as third-in-command of the Minor Tribes, was wandering through the Great Forest, admiring his reflection in the surface of a small lake. He really look rather exquisite, positively gleaming in this exuberant sunlight, his wonderful feathers mirrored so well in the water and ice- Something touched the back of his head, and ice enveloped him. Percival tried to move, struggling uselessly against the solid ice around him. There were two of them, he could see, blurred shapes hefting the ice block into the air. They were moving him...down. The brown earth seemed to swallow them up...were they underground? The circle of light overhead vanished, leaving Percival blind in the dark of the tunnel. After months of inaction, the second wave of the Sabretooth Invasion has begun. *** Byrum enters the outskirts of Great Forest, but a random arrow chips the front of his motorcyle. Screeching to a halt, Byrum inspects the damage and takes into account the spot where the arrow landed. The ground below it was becoming white, void of life.
He turned tail, pushing his motorcycle into overdrive. Above him in a nearby tree, two yellow eyes watched Byrum drive away like a mad creature. Like a shadow, it returned to the thick foliage of the trees...

OOC: All he had to do was stay with the other citizens at the camp at Forever Rock, but no. =P OOC: Oh, yes, the camp. About that... OOC: It is guarded, don't even think about it. =P

A large Gorilla Army of many hundreds marches into the Great Forest from Lion City, bearing east into the Great Desert.(Retcon Previous Post)
Playfully dashing through the Forest was a young Eagle wearing a cloak of blue. Plucking a flower out of the ground, the Eagle finds comfort in its sweet scent---a familiar memory in the midst of a world wholly different from when she had left it.
Halting in front of a fallen tree trunk, the Eagle kneels down to inspect its upturned roots. Catching a drop of sap with the end of her spear, she smiles and begins to scoop up the rest of it into a jar. Noticing a single blossom petal stuck to her sleeve, the Eagle feels sentimental and starts to recount past events.
The sound of crackling branches returns her to the present as she disappears into the night.
The loud hums of machines grew closer, and from amongst the trees a large squad of Gorilla Mechs swung from branch to branch. Two of their pilots straggling at the rear mutter to one another about their troubles.
Catching hints of their conversation, the Eagle decides against staying any longer and departs for the Nomad Outpost.

~Eliaphet checked her pocket watch for the fifith time that night.
Sitting alone atop of a high forest branch, she quietly observes the far of lights of various tribe camps. Five weeks had passed since her last encounter, and the present harsh winds threaten to push her out of the tree. Wrapping her cloak tight, Eliaphet shields her eyes as a wandering bear tribe member comes into view.
She smiles while thinking to herself. "The poor fool is sleepwalking."
In the midst of swaying trees, two moving shadows circle around him. Inching closer, the shadows grab hold of the bear, one on each shoulder, and quickly drag him to the ground. Behind them, a third shadow emerges, brandishing twin bulwarks.
Whacking one on the head and tripping the second, the twin bulwarks glow a faint blue as they dispatch the two would be thieves. On the hilt of the weapon, is the faded insigina of the Eagle tribe.
Helping him onto his feet, Eliaphet lowers her bulwarks and nods to the bear, greeting him in a low voice. "Safe travels, and be careful when wandering the forest at night."
The Bear does not respond. Instead, he raises a large hammer above his head and sends it crashing down in front of her. Jumping backwards, Eliaphet raises an eyebrow.
The Bear charges forward.
The Eagle makes for the trees.

Meanwhile, a shadowy figure smiles. Lifting a necklace above the flames of his campfire, he dangles it playfully before setting it down to look on at the rest of his souvenirs. Pulling his hood closer to his face to shield himself from the wind, he pokes the dwindling embers with a twig in an attempt to rekindle a fire.
The swish of a branch followed by the shuffling of leaves startles him. Dousing his fire with water, he quickly places his trinkets back into his sachel and covers his tracks, melting into the shadows of the night.

Nearly losing her footing in the coils of a mossy vine, Eliaphet fumbles with her satchel. Jumping from branch to branch, she momentarily turns aside to see the two hooded figures skillfully swing steel chains, gaining ground in their pursuit.
One of them attempts to pin Eliaphet by her wing, but narrowly misses as it brushes her cheek and hits the tree in front.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Eliaphet couldn't help but mutter a small insult. "Well, at least they're a good shot..." Tripping on a branch, she falls down to the ground below. Sensing an opportunity, the pursuers throw their chains in her direction and capture her by the legs but before they can reel her in, she grabs the chains and pulls them towards her.
The two are yanked forward and become stuck on a limb, which Eliaphet uses to swing herself into position and grab another large tree limb. Clawing her way onto solid ground, Eliaphet is about to let out a sigh until she notices only two of the pursuers have been knocked out.
"But what of the bear?"
Crack! A large club hits Eliaphet's square on the chin which leaves her reeling. The culprit jumps out from behind the bushes and catches her. Now locked in a chokehold, Eliaphet decides to try and reason with her attacker while fighting for breath.
"Now now, must we really employ such crude tactics? *cough*"
The attacker responds by tightening their grip.
Rolling her eyes in annoyance, Eliaphet digs her talons into the arm of her pursuer and wrenches herself free from their grip. Massaging her neck, she notices that in her hand are a few scruffy raven feathers and quickly dodges a weak punch thrown at her.
Fixing her satchel and regaining composure, Eliaphet chuckles and begins to tease the cloaked figure.
"I am beginning to realize why you have such few customers, and why they are so...unusual."
Appearing behind her, the Bear takes off his disguise to reveal the wicked smile of a raven scarred beyond measure. He replies, "Of course, friend, and you can't blame us can you? After all, if you want to make it big, then you'll have to take quite the risk...right Rylee?"
Eliaphet is surprised when the other purser takes off her hood and begins to jump up and down in a childish manner. "Yeah, did you see how I threw the chain? Did you? Would have got her too if the big old Eagle would've stayed still." The young Raven girl then sits down and crossing her arms begins to pout.
Extending a leg, the scarred Raven bows. "Ryd, at yer service."

The inhabitants of settlements wihin the wood begin to fear going even short distances from their homes unaccompanied, and start moving in groups of two or three. It's not long, however, until these groups start to vanish as well, only increasing fear of the wilderness and placing further stress upon the rapidly dimishing population of the Great Forest.

The hums of Wicker's speedor echo throughout the quiet forest, bringing his mind calm as he looks over the reports left to him by Rhino Intelligence.
Common information any wolf worth his fangs would know of the character that is Whit. Wicker suspected something integral to his hunt was being kept from him —a fact that would damage the brittle tale woven by those uncouth administrators.
"Hmm, not even his love for music could allow him to stay anywhere near here. The fool has a brain and something of value the Monarchy can't live without."
Pointing his nose upward, Wicker sniffs the air —an unfamiliar scent was approaching. Remaining calm, he glares at his speedor's mirror and notices a growing dust cloud. He slows down, holding out a Stakuku sideways.
Huffing and puffing and in a complete panic, a figure covered in a white robe kicks up his sore feet and pushes himself onward. "Must get to Rufus, must get to Rufus...puh!" Frozen for a moment, the figure coughs before falling backwards...the impact of the Stakuku to his stomach knocking the wind out of him.
Reaching out, Wicker grabs the poor figure by his neck and hovers the sharpened Stakuku over their face. The figure weakly blurts out their business. "The Eagle Spire has been attacked by bombers of an unknown origin, I survived and ask for mercy! PLEEEEEAAAASE!"
The ear splitting screech forces Wicker to growl at the figure for silence. Flicking off their hood with his Stakuku, Wicker raises a brow. An Eagle?
Eagle: "Oh thank Cavora! A Wolf! Please, I must report to the Rhinos! The Wolves are allied with the Rhinos right? The Rhinos were to meet the Eagles, but the bombers, it's not safe to bring officials there!"
Digesting this information, Wicker ignites his Stakuku and shocks the Monarchy Informant. Picking him up, he carries him on the shoulder as he drives off on his speedor for a suitable campsite.

Muffling squeals break the Great Forest's symphony of nighttime ambience. Squirming, the Monarchy Informant wriggles in a futile attempt to break free from the ropes that bind him. Dangling upside-down from the end of a stout tree branch, he sighs at his predicament.
He stiffens. Something was here with him. Swinging back around, he sees the outline of a figure. It turns to meet him, its eyes revealing its canine background.
The Informant gulps, opening his mouth a creak to scream...yet his voice left him.
Wicker grunts. "Have you no mind in that thick skull of yours? You are to tell me your business and I will serve you food. If not, I shall withhold it. And, do not threaten me with death. I will ensure you stay alive to tell me all that you know."
The Informant's lower beak trembles. Eyeing the food, its smells caused his stomach to groan. He blurts. "I...I am an informant for the Rhino Monarchy, sent to make sure Administrators carry out their duties exactly as their told and I ran because something hit the Eagle Spires enough to cause an explosion. I don't know who or why!" Suddenly, the Informant begins to cry.
Wicker is taken back, disgusted by his behavior. He grabs the rope binding the Informant and shakes it. "Enough! You have answered me truthfully, for I searched your belongings and found the Monarchy Insignia, the same worn by those Administrators. Now tell me what are the Administrators suppose to be doing?"
Dizzy, the Informant's voice quivers. "Repairing relations with other tribes, finding a traitor."
Wicker's brow raises. "Traitor?"
Informant: "Yes, a wolf with a love for music was spotted with a Rhino that had been missing for some time. Must get the Wolves to agree to his capture, gotta find the Rhino. Ugh."
Wicker steadies the rope and turns aside as the Informant drops the contents of his last meal. Looking upward, Wicker shakes his head.

A group of speedorz zoom by, the frantic speech between two of its rider's suggesting trouble.

I mean after everything they've gone through won't they suspect trouble?" ???: "Nothing we can't handle I'm sure."

Wicker breaks a small piece of incense, holding it up to the Informant's nose to keep him quiet.

Dragging the Informant's unconscious form, Wicker procures Gorilla Vines out of his supplies and weaves them together to form a carrier. Placing the Informant in it, he straps it to his back and thinks to himself. "So, the Rhinos believe themselves to have us at a checkmate. Best to keep up the pretense then."
Meditating for a moment, Wicker stills his mind before stealthily bolting up a tree and shadowing the moving caravan.
The Eagle Spire awaits...
