Alpha Team had orbs that could bring people back from the dead and Ultra Agents had superpowers.
I wouldn't call the orbs "magic", I would say heavy sci-fi science. As for superpowers, I don't really remember them. TBH I never really followed UA much.

There isn't any indication it came from Sci-Fi origins and it dosn't fit Agents anyway. Literally all the villians in UA had superpowers except, like, one.
