On my flight yesterday, one of the available films to watch was Jurassic world so i thought - why not?
And wow, it’s actually such a masterpiece, I haven’t seen it in a couple of years but even though i know the plot inside out, it was still incredible to watch and the way all of the storylines fit together, and how the park progressively falls apart is so satisfying to watch. It actually shows how badly they messed up with the sequels because none of them compare to the magic of the first because of: pacing, characters, story progression and enviroment.
Also, watching it again reignited my love for MASRANI 1!!!!!! HE WAS A KING!!! And also lowery too - its actually respectful how he stays at the end to help out and for some reason, apart from Owen, hes the only one actually speaking sense in the movie? For once, a billionaire CEO (masrani) is not the worst person in the film. He actually has good rationale why he doesn’t escalate to killing the indominus, but after seeing it killing the entire tranc squad, he escalates appropriately and tries to take it out himself
Anyways - maybe we completely reject the trilogy as a whole and only acknowledge the first one
I'm down for this idea. Anytime anybody brings up the other films we just stare at them blankly and pretend like we've never heard of the sequels.
There is no Jurassic World sequels, there is no live action The Last Airbender, and there is no queen of England.
Yeah, this topic has been full of JW3 hate, you are introducing a much-needed differing opinion.
I need to rewatch JW2 now that JW3 didn't build off it very well at all...I only thought it was decent because it was a bridge movie but it turned out to be a very shaky bridge.
To be fair - it doesnt really build off of it well - but i have disregarded 2 from existing and rather think of it as a duology than a trilogy now
Yeah 2 wasted way too much time adding nothing of substance to the series. It was honestly what really single-handedly killed off my Jurassic obsession.

It holds up as a very solid movie. There was a reason we were so into it back in the day after all. Still though, looking back it doesn't really match up to how good the original Jurassic Park is tbh.

2 is like eating mac and cheese with no cheese ... yeah it sure is something but nothing great - and bland - and whats the point

I havent watched the original ones for a long time... perhaps my next quest shall be rewatching them to compare
