Every Lego theme has problems or issues with their lore and story. Personally, I'm not much of a fan of Ninjago's story as its lore is very inconsistent and contradicts itself a lot. G1 Bionicle does have a lot of strange and illogical things in its lore, especially considering its timeline. And so on and so forth for various themes, but, never has any Lego theme come with such a broken lore that it fundamentally destroys the entire point of the story altogether. Nexo Knights is the most pointless and broken story theme in Lego's history thus far and here's why. The heroes aren't needed.
Why do I say this? For one simple reason, all it takes to defeat the Monsters is a simple tap with some Nexo Power and poof, they're gone. After Merlok became digital and so did his magic, we see that it can be uploaded into what are essentially large iPads called shields. And in one of the early episodes, it is established that the Nexo Powers are transmitted through Wi-Fi. And that presents a huge problem. Why? Because the kingdom has an army of robots. And no, I'm not just talking about the Squirebots, the useless machines they are; no, I'm talking about the Royal Soldiers. The real robot warriors of the kingdom. If the magic just instantly destroyed the Monsters and it can be download via Wi-Fi, why not just use the robot army and wipe out the villains? It would be incredibly simple. Even if for some reason the robots didn't have a Wi-Fi adapter/connection, which why wouldn't they when they build "shields" with them, then they could easily install them into the robots.
Now, this problem could have been easily fixed by one line of dialog. Something like it takes the skill and creativity of trained human warriors, something robots lack and everything would be fine. Explanation given and now we have at least a thin excuse for why the heroes are the only ones who can use the Nexo Power to save the kingdom. But no, they don't say this. In fact, they show quite the opposite. The Nexo Knights lose a tournament to the Tighty Knighties, as the opposing team of knights has more skill. But when the Monsters attack, due to being scared and also unable to harm the Monsters in any way, the Tighty Knighties are unable to defend the people. But as soon as the Nexo Knights use their downloaded magic, they defeat the enemy easily. So any excuse that skill or creativity is required is blown out the window. All is needed is one-hit magic and the Monsters are defeated.
When in doubt, read the instructions.

This is very true, imo. Why make a series where the protagonists serve no role at all, aside from simply doing protagonist duties which could be done more efficiently by other characters? The story simply doesn't make sense if the protagonists don't serve any real function.

...Wow, never thought of that. Of course, I mostly follow the theme to fangirl Clay so...

I just thought it was bad because all the characters but two were obnoxious.

May I ask who is being called annoying?
Because if it's Clay or Ava, someone just might get whacked with this frying pan here... Just a possibility though [a]

This is why Chima should return with smashing success! You have verbalized what I have been thinking ever since the series came out. Thank you for making this topic. If only Lego could see this...

Probably not. Chima most likely failed due to competition with Ninjago and the strange look of the minifigures.

Found another problem: Season 3 Looks like Seasons 1&2 with the villains in different forms. And this time Jestro was zapped and made evil, which will ruin his whole guilty side, which is what made him cool. I mean, he turned good, just write him out into a minor character or something.
Also, I've caught word that something bad happens to Clay...
