When Sabretoothes bred with some of the few friendly Lions, their offspring, the White Lions, were shunned by the Lion Kingdom, and have been forced to live with us instead of wherever they choose. When one of their number, who married King Finglor and is now our Queen, was lost in a storm, she and her baby son found civilisation after days of wandering alone; she thought she was saved. But no, she had unknowingly entered the Lion Kingdom; she and her baby were refused food and shelter, and told to go; some even threw stones. Fortunately, one of the last remaining Lion families not overcome with hate managed to get her back to one of the Sabretooth search parties sweeping the wilderness for her, and she lived. Then that same lion led a sizable force made up of lions and other species, to rescue us from the Icebears' glacier. Additionally, I've heard that the old Lion King has disappeared and been replaced, so technically that ends the bloodline of the dynasty that enforced anti-sabertooth laws, right...? I don't know... The Lions nevertheless still provide us with regular chi, which, while we no longer use for combat purposes, is essential for construction work and the like. Before the Lions started delivering us chi, we had to steal it from Mount Cavora, and we don't want to get on bad terms with them again; we'd no longer legally get chi, and I've heard the Lions crushed the Crocodiles' army of the time during the Chima Civil War."
