As do I. It just works so well... His entire 'schtick', if you will, is being able to prevent people from dying, so it'd make so much sense if he resurrected himself.
Yeah, but it's hard to tell, because she's the only female storm trooper we've heard talk, plus she could just have a slightly different helmet or whatever... Though I still hope you're right.
Its a bit different, because one means it's probably going to happen, and another means it's just possible... That's a big difference.
Mhm. The EU did that, too, in some cases, I think.
Yes. One of the least covered topics in Star Wars films is all of the orders that formed around blue milk. The rumored title for Episode IX is STAR WARS: The Blue Milk Awakens.
Who said he's dead? All we have in canon is Sheev's word, and you can't trust that guy.
There was another female Stormtrooper in TFA, and she didn't sound quite like Phasma. Maybe I'm just being hopeful, though.
Maybe.
I believe it did, yeah. The EU was a little messed up.
I heard the 2020 anthology film will be a documentary about Banthas and why their milk is blue.
That's true... But would that make Vader technically not a Sith, then, because it breaks the rule of two?
I didny even notice. I'm hoping the same thing, though... Not sure if we'll ever get a confirmation. Might just leave her mysterious. Are you gonna read her comic?
Maybe?
Yeeeeeah... In the EU, Han and Chewie landed on Earth and met Indiana Jones or something like that.
That will be the first movie I see three times on the same day, opening day. They can take all of my dollars.
Yah. There's a regular spot where they show old monster movies and there's been a patch of Godzilla ones recently.
Well, it's probably not that bad.
Cool, I should try and find that spot.
It's a Mothra movie with some Indiana Jones and Godzilla thrown in, I doubt it's great.
It's only weekly... Saturday nights. I think they're phasing out of Godzilla now though. There hasn't been one in the last couple weeks, but before that they had a solid six weeks or so with Toho flicks.
It is a wee bit hard... I've been working on this in some form in the back of my head for like two years, and the script format I eventually want to form it in, when I remove the superhero stuff and mix a few things up, adding and taking away certain stuff, is STILL not near done even being plotted out. The current superhero series version is pretty much all plotted, and I've started the actual writing, but once you remove some stuff, it'll be off and I'm going to need to do major replotting for the second act... Come to think of it, it's probably going to be a majorly different story in the script format, for which I'm just going to take certain elements from the superhero thing. To a certain degree, it can't be all that original, as every time travel story has certain elements, so you really need to try and put a (hopefully) interesting spin on it. That was a longer tangent than I expected. I DEFINITELY will. That probably isn't going to be for quite a while, though.
Ooh nice. I've seen a couple of Rian's interviews, and he seems really awesome as a person, so it's good to see his work is awesome, too. He seems to be an absolutely brilliant writer... Close to every cast member in VIII, plus Kathleen Kennedy, have complimented his script as being amazing, so I fully expect one of the best Star Wars movies yet.
Wow, sounds cool. Even Rian Johnson's movie actually has some superhero-y stuff in it though. Definitely watch sometime.
Yeah, the tons of compliments on the script help too.
I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want to. It's like number one on my list of movies which have already been released which I want to watch. I don't know if you're into this type of thing, but in case your interested, Rian Johnson's got all three of his produced scripts on his personal website, free to read.
Definitely. I think it's going to be the most 'different' SW film ever.
Well, I'm not going to be totally inactive, I'll just be on a lot less... Not sure how often yet, as I just got back, but it'll probably be dependent on HW and tests.
True. Is the end of the Jedi a bad thing? We don't know.
I think it's just Luke... He's referred to as the last Jedi a couple times in TFA, and I think Rian said that it was Luke, and the translation just messed it up. I'd love to hear your theory, though.
Well...consider...what were the Jedi? They were peacekeepers...sort of balancers of the Force. If the Sith and darkside was entirely eliminated.....I dunno. Are they necessary?
It is officially canon that The Last Jedi is plural.
Yeah, but the thing is, the Dark Side, and Dark Side users still exist, just the order called the Sith don't. So it's a weird situation.
Its definitely not... If anything it's the opposite. Here's the exact quote from Mr. Johnson:
"In my mind, it's singular. In my mind it is. ... As to whether Luke is the 'Last Jedi,' they say in The Force Awakens he's going to find the last Jedi temple and Luke is the last Jedi." (via IGN, though you can find this quote all over the interwebs, and even the actual video if you google it.)
I DO think that she's not quite as powerful as people think she is... It's just that she took to the Force really quickly, so people assume that equates to her having a lot of power in it. Which might be true, but isn't necessarily. Maybe she just picks stuff up easily.
Maybe. Everybody says Rey is NOT a Skywalker because she picks up on things way faster than Luke. Fact of the matter is.....I don't think Rey is that good at all.
That's doesn't make sense... How would the fact she picked up on it quick mean she wasn't a Skywalker? I mean, Anakin channeled the Force really quick. Rey's definitely a very powerful Force user. She's untrained, and probably not Anakin or Yoda level powerful, but I'd put her up their on Jedi Council level powerful. She's not OP, though, nor is she a Mary Sue like some folks think.
Yeah, I know about her, and she's kinda cool on her own, but I was never a fan of her relationship with Luke... Luke, as you said, doesn't seem like he cares much about romance. I don't mind Rey Solo so much, but it's also a bit obvious. I still love the Rey Palpatine theory, as unlikely as it is.
I haven't seen either, because I don't have Cable or Netflix. I believe they'll go into it a bit in VIII, but I don't think he'll be revealed to be anyone else in it. I think he'll just be left as if Smoke is new character, but they won't confirm that entirely, so that Colin Trevorrow can do what he wants in IX. That's 100% speculation, though.
No, no, no, you misunderstand. I'm just willing to bet on the accuracy of the source by betting that this character, who was not confirmed by any other source, is, in fact, in the Han Solo film.
No one really knows who he is, but I don't think he's human.
Oh, yeah, Harrison Ford hates doing Han.
Whatever. Luke is going to be harder to read in this new trilogy. And Rey Solo could be possible, remember what Daisy said. Rey Palpantine is a little weird, rather interesting.
I don't have Cable either. But I do have Netflix. Rebels isn't on Netflix, just the Clone Wars. I think Luke is going to tell Rey the whole story. The dirty truth, which will be much deeper...I have my pet theories.
I see. I am looking forward to the Han Solo film. And in 2020, we need a Princess Leia film!
I thought it was canon that he was human.
Yes, but he seems to like Indiana Jones. Personally...I think it's deeper than he just hates Han Solo.
Probably. I mean, we still don't know too much about him, but I think you're probably right, judging from what we've seen. Which I like, because it makes him different from Old Ben or Yoda. Yeah, I know. I think your probably right. I just don't want it to be true.
I'd like to watch it. I will eventually, as I want to get Netflix sooner or later. I don't think he's going to tell her so much as maybe show her? I think she'll find out in force visions which Luke will probably induce, whether by bringing her to a certain place like in ESB, or some other way. What're your pet theories?
I am, too. A Leia film would be cool! Not sure if it's possible, though... Carrie Fisher was 18 years old when they filmed the first SW, so not sure they can really do a younger version unless she's like 10, and we saw how well child Anakin was received. :/ It's a shame though.
I don't think anything about Snoke is canon except what we know from the film and a couple other small details, like that he was around since before the Clone Wars.
Well, now, I've seen it already. I'm actually very confused with my opinion about it. In the first quarter of the film, I was thinking, is it already better than the first, or am I just enjoying this a lot? It took me a long time to think about it, and I'm still thinking about it up to now. I'll just give a temporary rating of 9.5/10, though it could become an 8/10. If you have low expectations, either you'll still be blown away or your (low) expectations will be fulfilled. But if you have higher (and maybe different) expectations, either you'll really like it or you'll be disappointed. Some fans have already spoken, and it seems that they're a bit disappointed. But just see it anyway. You'll laugh and cry a lot.
Ah nice. So you liked it a lot overall? Let me know if you're rating changes at all. I'm definitely going to be seeing it, and I'll let you know once I do (though we don't get it for awhile yet), and then we can discuss it in detail. In the mean time... Is Rooker as awesome as in Vol. 1?
I'm 8legos, a member of the LOTR RP, you may or may not remember me from your time leading Rivendale. But if I remember correctly you had a brother on the boards 9ringwraths, is he still around? And would he be intersted in joining the RP again? We have much of the old group back together, rex, CC, bobbie, mace, KK, EE, myself and others. Would he be intersted in that? We would love to have him! Thanks, 8legos
He is indeed my brother, but he hasn't been active on the LMBs since months before they old boards closed... I can definitely ask him if he's interested in returning though, if you'd like me to.
{JAMMERS back!}Well, the stuff you were talking about sounded like Legends... Do you know how long ago you read it? If it was a long time ago, as in pre-2015, it's prooooobably not canon.

I did enjoy it a lot. But if I say I liked it more than the first, then I must be only enjoying it more and not looking at the flaws. If I say the first is better, then my opinion is valid. I really don't know. All I can say atm is that it's bigger and more of everything. More comedy, more action, more complicated, more emotional.
He was more awesome here. In fact, he's in one of the best action scenes yet!

Here's some more I can say about GOTG Vol. 2:
Basically, this movie is bigger and more of everything. More comedy, more action, more personal, more intense, and more emotional. Part of the flaws I noticed is that there were about two or three comedic scenes that killed the tension/moment. It was funny, yes, but they could've done it either later or they shouldn't have done it instead. I also realized the vibe I got when I first watched Vol. 1 wasn't really there. Yes, the characters are still the same, but what made this sequel feel very different is that it's just more personal. The first was obviously about bringing the team together. In here, we dig deeper into each team member. There were cliches, but they only worked here and the twists really came out of nowhere. I'm really scared to admit that I enjoyed it more than the first. There, I said it. Smash me now.
This was more intense and emotional (in fact, I cried). But hey, I think the only way to enjoy this is by having very low expectations like I did. If you expect this to be better than the first, don't. You'll surely find the first one better. Maybe it's just that I'm in the minority of everything.
