OOC: One castle (this one) is relatively close to Minas Tirith, while the other one is just south of Pelargir. Dozens of Haradrim are smashed with every volley from the archers. The Pikemen twiddle their thumbs and wait for orders.
OOC: Oh. Regardless, looking at the map they are unlikely to pass very near Pelargir, and anyway they stayed out of range. I didn't think you could attack from adjacent regions anyway
*CoughCough* "Out of arrow range" *My siege weapons continue to smash down the wall, destroying more of it, which then collapses on your troops (In places)* *My Red Shields and Linesmashers continue to slowly advance towards the castle, but they are untouchable to your archers*
OOC: OK.
As the walls crumble, the archers enter the Keep, but continue their volleys. The Pikemen are still unseen.
OOC: How are your slow-moving troops invincible to thousands of arrows?

*Many of my siege weapons turn to blasting a hole at the bottom of the keep, but some still focus on the walls and breaking a hole in it*
OOC: First of all, the Red Shields have 2 massive shields each that they can stay safe behind, and the Linesmashers can also stay safe behind them. Secondly, if a few arrows were to get through they would have little effect on the Half-trolls. Have you read the description of them?

OOC: Actually, there is precedent for things firing from another region, though only in very controlled enviroments. basically, due to the location of the Dimrill Dale, The Morian Gate is in the first few feet of the Morian Region, thereby able to have troops fire at troops on a wall or the ground within range. However, I cannot think of any other region that this would be possible with, except maybe Dale and Erebor.

*An army of Umbarian soldiers crosses the Anduin on rafts and lands in the North of the region, out of sight of the troops here* *They begin to advance towards the Rohirrim. The Rangers act as scouts, smashing any enemy troops they come upon*
OOC: This army is worth 6000 MWE and is made up of:

As soon as the discover this, they raise the alarm and fall back. The mounted archers release a volley towards the enemy, and the staff ents begin to advance.*
So, which of your troops are ineffectively operating the siege weapons, as you haven't included the crew cost in that? As far as I was aware you always used the full cost when building them but sure, I haven't RPed much recently

I will.
*As my rangers are quite ahead of the rest of my troops the arrows fall short, although it does make my forces fall back a little. Troops with shields form a shield wall and others hold up their shields in case of another barrage.* *My rangers split and go to either side of your forces (In front of them and out of sight) and melt away into the forest, finding good hiding spots that ensure they won't be found* *A large force of Haradrim breaks away from the main force along with some siege weapons and goes around the castle, out of arrow range. They go towards the Umbarians, but stay back from your advancing Ents. They are out of range of your siege weapons* *The siege weapons are loaded with flaming bolts and large jars of oil and open fire on your Ents, burning up many* *All archers fire fire arrows towards the Ents*
This is only my second or third land battle that I have fought in by myself, and will likely be the only one I finish I was a bit of a pacifist back in the day And that naval battle against LB was by first ever

A little clarification while I'm over here: Any moves that are being made must come from troops within the same region. The borders of each region are rather fluid, however, to allow for battles to take place on the edge. In these cases, though, you simply have to agree which region is more relevant to the battle, and then all troops must fight in that region (basically the borders of the region will extend to include the entirety of the battle and the land in which reinforcing armies would be arriving at on its outskirts). But since it doesn't take any time to travel to an adjacent region (well, one day/post between arriving and attacking, but leaving/arriving is virtually instant), there's no reason why troops in the adjacent region could move over to the one that the battle is actually in.

IC: *My Linesmashers and Red Shields halt their advance and stay still, completely safe behind the shields*
OOC: I belive those trops are worth 8 each, so their pretty robust and strong
OOC: Don't get ahead of yourself, you haven't won yet. And though you've moved the Haradrim force, it's large enough that my troops would have time to react, so no ents are lost. Also, what forest? To my knowledge there are no significant forests in Lebennin, and the general description doesn't seem to support their existance. Trees? Definitely. But no, there aren't any forests. I'll concede that they can find cover, but their presence is definitely known to the main Rohirrim force and getting within arrow range would be next to impossible without being noticed.
IC: *The entire force (Rohirrim and ents) falls back some distance and sets up in a defensive formation.* *Incendiary projectiles are loaded into the trebuchets and prepared to launch.* *The scorpions are placed on the top of a long hill (in front of the army), loaded, and aimed in the general direction of the enemy forces.* *The Rangers take hidden positions some hundred-odd feet from the hill, scanning the area with keen eyes.* *The cavalry moves to the right and left of the army.*
