The Wilderland is the untamed land in the north between the Misty Mountains and Mirkwood. It is mostly grasslands, with rougher terrain towards the mountains in the west and north. The Anduin and its primary tributaries run through the center of the region.
This Wilderland borders Gundabad to the northwest, the Grey Mountains to the north (insurpassable), Mirkwood to the east, the Carrock to the southeast, the Gladden Fields to the south-southwest, High Pass to the west-southwest, and the Misty Mountains to the west (insurpassable).
This region provides the usual 1,000 MWE and 100 SWE.
{JAMMERS! -GOOD- ONLY!} I planned on sending all my cavalry here, where they might be of some assistance. I'm not claiming the region, though, since I believe we planned on giving it to the Beorning HQ. Let me know how I can help here or in any surrounding regions.

{JAMMERS! -GOOD- ONLY!} URGENT! MUST ADDRESS TODAY! An army of Goblins should be passing through here from the Gladden Fields. Intercept them at all costs. You should be able to move troops from the Gladden Fields to here to finish them off once they're trapped in the region.
Assuming that the army isn't still in Gladden fields *The beornings here attack the goblins*
MM before you say that they are stealthy. Its an army of 5000 orcs and goblins which are loud, plus I have scouts and outposts, and your troops are here for a whole day, more than engough time to find and attack your troops.

Several points:
1. While you might have scouts, you have not said that you've built outposts, nor had enough time to do so. Therefore, the scouts would have a large area to search through, and it would include going back. 2. Goblins can be quiet if they try, and it's actually only about 1,500 actual units, I believe less even. Add to the fact that 50 of them rarely speak (trolls) and another thousand are hard at work pulling a large box of metal. 3. Most of the time I'm here, they will be mostly sleeping, meaning that their is LESS possible noise.

So my fortress is just north of the Rimdath river half way between the mountains and the Anduin. If you look at the scale there is only about 25 miles there, so that you could easily see from a tower, that whole area. And your troops would have to pass a river.
1. as above I only have 25 miles of area to cover have a few scouts with horns, and I will most defently be able to find your troops. 2. Trolls, they are loud, they may not speak, but that doesn't mean that they don't grunt or roar. And again dragging mettle boxes. Those are going to be loud. 3. So you mean to tell me that your troops are going to cover around 175 miles, in a day, and sleep? And then be in peak combat readiness the next day?
MM your troops are not getting through. I hope you can get that through you head.

1. Outposts would hardly be necessary. A few (mounted) patrols on the southern border could easily keep a close enough guard to spot any sizeable armies (a few hundred troops or more) coming through. I believe this area is also sparsely wooded (a few scattered trees, nothing too thick), and these could easily be climbed and used as lookout towers until more suitable structures were built. 2. You listed 2,625 infantry, plus fifty Trolls and two hundred of your tanks/cable-cars. Even if Goblins are quiet, Trolls are by no means so. The idea of some of the troops being "hard at work pulling" and "stealthy" also don't go along very well together. 3. That also means that they'll be sitting in one place, more likely to be found by patrols. Also remember that you've got an army of Beornings on your heels. The more you stop to sleep, the better their chances of catching up to you. If you try to move stealthily, that'll make you move slower, making them more likely to catch you. Same goes for hauling those metal boxes. Given the fact that, with decent conditions, a horn can be heard from several miles away, the army chasing you could notify the nearby sentries, who could in turn notify other sentries, who could in turn notify the main garrison of your presence. Throw all of these together, and you're attempting to hide from sentries while being chased down by another army that's notifying anyone and everyone within earshot of your presence. Oh, and this is in a stretch of land about twenty-five miles wide, and a hundred and fifty miles long. Sorry, but you're not getting through. Oh, and I did the calculations, and sound can travel a mile in about five seconds. Assuming that there's always somebody there to hear and repeat the horn (which really isn't a big stretch, given that there are scouts and would also be people gathering materials for the fort), it would only take about twelve minutes for everyone from the Gladden Fields to Gundabad itself to be aware of your presence. And it'd probably take you about two days at least to travel the same distance.

Fine. let's say that They meet up near the fortress, at the Ramdoth River right by the Misty Mountains. My army: 200 Zwangliders (1K MWE) 1,000 Pike Crew (1K MWE) 50 Cave Trolls (1K MWE) 625 Flight of the Uruks (1K MWE) 1,000 Goblin Snipers (1K MWE)
*The Zwangliders and their Pike Crew set up a Perimeter as the Beorning catch up.* *The Flight of the Uruks and Snipers get a slightly higher position with the Mountains, using the Uruks shields as protection.* *The Cave Trolls duck under the Zwangliders for now, on their hands and knees.*

OOC: Gentlemen, can we all just agree that MM's troops successfully left the Gladden Fields but upon arriving here were stopped by 8L's troops? I think that's a reasonable conclusion, and frankly this arguing is taking up unnecessary time.
