OOC: What if the stones rolled down the riverbank?
They caused damage, but bounced off after causing said damage.
The siege engines are moved around. They fire a round, then move again, never to the same place.
OOC: Considering the size of stuff trebuchet fire, it would be mor elikely that the bank would collapse.
IC: The siege engines keep firing, changing their trajectory to ensure all bolts either go over the wall and destroy the buildings behind them, or hit the upper section. The Onagers focus on sending rocks over to hit your siege engines, while the Trebuchet keep firing on the same areas of wall, swiftly sending parts of the walkways and uppermost slabs of stones into the streets behind. They are slowly moved along the bank, so that their fire travels along your wall, creating growing areas that cannot be traversed.
OOC: Poor riverbank. JSYK, there aren't any soldiers on the wall.... or siege engines.... or even a walkway for that matter. It's a wall, not a rampart.
IC: The Siege engines are not hit, because they are moving. There are too many close calls, though.
The Mangonels return fire, and the trebuchets focus their firepower on the siege ships of masterlegobuilders.
My archers fire massive volleys, sending thousands of arrows through the air at the siege ships. After firing one volley, they move and fire again so they are not caught in the same place.

OOC: RIP riverbank. Ah, hat makes my job easier, as your troops are all firing blind.
IC: *My siege engines focus on tearing the streets behind the wall, obstructing movement and smashing;wounding those caught in the falling buildings.

OOC: LB, I don't know what Sham thinks, but that is an awfully large and strong wall to build in 10 days, especially among ruins where rubble would be have to be cleared first. The strength you look to be saying you have is more than many HQs have by default, enough that it is almost invincible. Also, 30 feet is really high, like 9.1 METERS, so for it to be like that and at that strength is nearly impossible given the amount of time spent building it. Not to mention that it is all the way around a whole city. So, I present my arguments, and like always, I summon KitKat
IC: *Because there is a delay from after you fire to when your trebuchets begin moving (They must face forwards to shoot and then turn to move down the wall, unless your troops are carrying them or they are built strangely ) my siege ships lay down a line of fire against where they fired from quite far to the right and left along the wall. They fire these flaming projectiles at a high angle so they clear the wall, and the trebuchets are damaged or destroyed* *All my ships keep moving and firing blankets of flaming projectiles over the wall towards the archers, smashing many and lighting many of the buildings on fire* *My other siege weapons do what Sham's are doing*

OOC: Should we start crying and flood the topic, as we did when Con was banned? It's fairly easy to tell where giant flaming rocks are coming from. They're being flung from Mount Doom, obviously.
A moderate amount of soldiers are caught in this attack, but the rest retreat. The siege engines continue to fire at your trebuchets, moving after each attack.

OOC: a) I changed it to 20 feet after you complained about it. b) Your siege ships seem to be almost as strong as this wall when I attack them. c) It takes a while to batter a stone wall down, even if you are firing other stones at it. d) I could say that it was built at 5% per day, as the battle here didn't start until now. e) I will change it so that it runs the length of the riverbank which a slight curve at each end, rather than encircling the city.
What? You don't think that my strapping Gondorians could carry a couple hundreds pounds worth of wood and rope several dozen meters?
The trebuchets are set aflame. The operators get a few more shots out of them before the rope burns through and they are rendered useless. They then flee.
Your siege ships have taken no casualties from this barrage? None at all? Few archers are smashed, as they are constantly moving.
Most of these buildings are made of stone, MLB. Wood buildings would have rotted decades ago. And stone buildings don't burn very well.

OOC: Yes. Wait, flaming rocks?
IC: Mine continue, reducing movement for yours.
OOC: Very well. That what I was assuming. But now that I think about it, flaming rocks are fairly unrealistic.

How much he has built kind of depends upon how many troops he had working on the wall; a number which I don't know. Depending upon what sort of rubble there is, some it could actually be used in the wall. Based upon the movies, most of Osgiliath now consists of the shells of stone houses, and said shells could likely be either used in the wall or restacked as part of the wall. Though, I would agree that thirty feet is awfully high. I'm not sure what LB claimed, but the wall could probably serve just as well if it just lined the riverbank, and maybe a small bit more. No need to surround the city when the other three sides are mostly protected.
But, uhh, how are lighting stone buildings on fire? By this time, all of the wood and other decomposeable substances would've rotted away, leaving only stone and other such materials.

I made a post a little ways up the page explaining the wall, if you want to see it.
I have 6,000 MWE here, and I don't believe they did anything until the wall was finished. The Rangers may have made their ill-fated strike during this time but I'm not sure.

OOC: a) So I missed another thing b) Well, my point is that 3 almost blind-firing trebuchets would struggle to to hit moving ships, although the larger siege ships would still be hit a few times, aye. If you think about it, a rock hitting the deck would be much less effective than one hitting the side of the hull, as it would have to smash through all the layers and supplies in the ship to breach the hull. I mean, the decks do now have some lovely boulders adorning them, which is a bit of a nightmare for walking around on it c) Yeah, but they typically do more than bounce off and leave a slight crack, at least in this RP, although I do acknowledge that you used some poetic licence there d) Yeah, but you didn't e) Much more feasible, my hunger is sated.
Nope.
*Some operator join the ropes on a trip to becoming carbon * None have sunk, no, but they have taken damage to the deck, and some weapons will be destroyed on them. Right.
Uh, yeah, I knew that I just meant the temporay ones your soldiers erected Another case of my brain not working. This is getting too common

*My siege ships sail down river slightly until they are out of range of your other siege weapons and land on Sham' side of the river. They begin minor repair works, such as removing the boulders and patching the deck slightly*
