I have some 11 year old unopened star wars sets at my parents', plus some near-worthless polybags from the 80s. I just collect circulated coins. I like to find joy in the mundane - look at your laundry money and you find something you've never seen before. I so rarely use cash anymore that all I tend to get my hands on is quarters, which I need for the laundry machines in my building. I've had great success in filling in my state and national park collections. I'm excited to start seeing some of the "american women" quarters which begin production this year.
Well, I live across the street from a grocery store. Every week and a half to two weeks I go to the supermarket a few blocks away because I like the deli and the prices are a little better than the local place. Sometimes I take my personal cart over there with me, but usually I just carry everything. It's not particularly difficult for just me, though I imagine if you have a family to feed it would be cumbersome to carry. I also think most urban areas tend to have a local grocery of some sort one can walk to, rather than take transport. Who knows
Wow. Those sound quite valuable now if they're in good condition. I see. I actually did decide to look at my piggy bank of coins to extract the quarters for laundry and found some familiar coins. I found a copper-coated nickel I made for a science project and a penny with cuts in it for that science project. Ah yes, I did hear about those new quarters. They'll be interesting to collect, though for me it'll just end up in the laundry machine.
Ah, I see. I remember when I was in college I took the bus to go to the grocery store and brought my own hand-truck with a large bag on it to carry it all the way back home. That would make sense, there's probably communities of smaller markets, or maybe the farmers market that happens on weekends.
I think they might be double the original value, or something. Perhaps eventually I'll bother selling.
My favorite trick was dunking old pennies in vinegar to get crud off them. The only problem was it would take some of the original coating off the penny as well. I just got back from spring break seeing family and a friend from high school, I was able to rummage through their coins (they pay cash a lot for some reason ) and found a bunch of coins for the collection, including one of those new American Women quarters I was just telling you about. I think I'll use one of the extremely small plastic bags bricklink sellers seem to love using to stick it in for now
That's quite the adventure. Earlier I had to haul my bag with goodies from my parents' / grandparents' on the train and the bus back to my apartment. I'm glad I decided to not work out yesterday, because I definitely got one today. I need to go to the farmers market near me more often, especially now that local produce will be coming into season again.
That is certainly true. Have you ever been in a dark room? They're always such cool spaces. If the weather could stick to a schedule that would be nice.
Oh nice. Do you have favorite kind?
And happy day after St. Patrick's day
Hehe, thanks. I recently got more mosquito bites, so I'll be doing that again.
I think I may have been in a dark room for film once or twice before on some special occasion, though I don't quite remember. Indeed. I think where I am is finally getting some stable weather.
I prefer the gummy candies, hard candies like life-savers, and some chocolates.
Thanks. Happy St. Patrick's day to you too.
My condolences once again, that sounds quite painful
Nice. Stable weather is good. Here it keeps fluctuating between 60 degrees and snow storms
Lol, then I guess it's terrible. Maybe I only liked it 'cause I was a kid. I ain't watched it since. I guess I was doing myself a favor.
I wouldn't say I have a house either
I liked it as a kid too. When you're a kid the fact that all the characters are annoying is easier to get over, and you just focus on car chases and hoodwinking crooked cops. There were a few funny jokes, but not worth seven seasons of it.
I'm in your abode. The only cool thing's the theme song.

The show doesn't deserve such an iconic theme song
