Which is true, except there is a ship battle going on at the same speed and time as this, so every individual turn will have to be taken destroying the barrier
How do you light metal spheres on fire?
They have oil soaked flaming rags tied onto them or attached in a fashion where they won't fall off or go out while it is in the air

*A large force of Breelanders arrive from Enedhwaith. Half of them go to the Eastern side of the city and half of them cross the river on ships that arrived from Cardolan* *Ships and a few troops arrive from Cardolan and halt north above the city*
OOC: Will post troop and ship lists tomorrow, unless I get them done tonight , which is unlikely.

OOC: I'm going to call stalling on your city based moves, and post another one.
IC: The corsairs have swept the central isle which seems to have no defenses at all. The western forces have dealt serious damage to the scant defense, and has all but taken the city once they climb the barricade. The eastern forces acted similarly, but are soon pushed back by the enemy forces.
The ships on the greyflood continue battling, and the wrecks are piling in the river, forming a barricade. The current of the river push the wrecks of the furthest ships onto the wrecks of the nearer ships, shoring up the barricade. Volleys of projectiles continue, destroying enemy ships approaching.

Actually, I was waiting for you to amend your previous move based on my argument or continue arguing, so...
IC: *The slow trickle that your forces come over the barrier in because of having to climb up the barrier in between your siege ships firing mean that the archers and guardsmen can deal with your troops with minimal losses incurred only with the guardsmen that actually enage your melee force (You have not fired any arrows at my forces nor sent any archers over the barrier that I can tell)*
*After the first 2 or 3 port rogues appear a few archers and scorpions are tasked with watching for their grappling hooks and shooting the port rogues when they eventually reach the top. Their attempted to smash the crews of the scorpions fall short when the scorpions are located further back than they expected and their mini-crossbows do not have the range to attack them. After a short while they are all smashed or stop coming over the wall for common sense*
*After defending the centre isle for a short while the archers pull back, sneaking across the bridge slowly and into the other sides of the city. Several Guardsmen do this as well, but many stay behind to hold the troops coming over for a while longer. The scorpions fight to the death against your troops, but once the guardsmen fall they are swiftly overwhelmed. They destroy their scorpions before the enemy takes them*
OOC: Now, the reason my Guardsmen take less losses than your Raiders and Cutthroats when fighting them is because firstly, several of them are smashed by the archers before jumping/falling/whatever off the barrier, and secondly, when they jump/fall/whatever off the 6ish foot barrier, they have to then regain their footing and immediately fight Guardsmen which are ready and waiting to smash them at the bottom, and are also of equal or greater worth to them.
I also am not going to bring my other troops in until later because it would be OP if I brought them in now
IC River Battle:
*After the initial two waves of ramming my destroyers halt doing it because of the blockage in the river and instead focus fire on your remaining destroyers with their weapons.*
*Your heavily outnumbered and outgunned battleships and frigates fall to my battleships, frigate(s?) and siege ships fairly swiftly, although not without incurring many casualties on my destroyers which bear the brunt of your fire*

OOC: The archers are raining arrows over the barricade in an arc providing cover for my shock troops. Also, the sheer number of them coming on all sides would overwhelm the scant defenders. I think you underestimate shock troops. Also, in the few places that the barricade is smashed in, the shock troops easily storm the breach with cover fire from archers, drawing guardsmen away from defense of other parts of the barricade. The simple matter is, there are too many corsairs.
The troops on the center isle cannot easily get across the river, as the bridge is collapsed, and under six feet or so of water, easy pickings for archers on both sides.
The barrier stormers on the west side push the defenders back, slaying many. On the east they do similarily
River
Fair, but all sunken ships, including your own make a barrier that is impassable

OOC: You never said so, and while we do often say "archers continue firing", they have to have started firing prior to that for it to be valid. Regardless, my troops are spread out and mostly behind cover, or up close to the wall so archers can't hit them. Scorpions are out of archer range at the arc they have to fire in to shoot over the wall.
I belive we decided that along with repairing the walls the Breelanders also built a basic bridge across the river to help with moving stuff. My hobbits would stay low behind the railings while crossing, meaning they are unlikely to be spotted and even less likely to be fatally hit.
I think you are overestimating your 1 worth shocktroopers skill against equal worth non formation fighting troops while at a disadvantage because they have just jumped off a reasonably high barrier. As far as I can tell, shocktroopers work best when assaulting enemy formations in numbers, not in one-on-multiple fights. I think guardsmen are fully capable of either knocking them out over the head with their Goedendag when they fall, poking them violently with the pointy end of their Goedendag or letting them fall onto the pointy end of the Goedendag as they fall Not to mention that there are also scorpions and archers watching the barrier that will shoot some of them.
Fair enough, although I would say that given a lot of time a destroyer could navigate a narrow path through it. Not that I'm planning on doing that, because 1 destroyer vs 6 Siege ships won't go well for me

Can we pause this battle for a week?
Hmmm, depends if you're going to pause Minhiriath as well I'm OK with that, although I did want to finish up here quickly
