So, defenses, troops numbers, etc.! Hope to destroy you soon!
Ugh, sorry. Here are defenses:
From the High Pass, a path leads down, eventually entering a narrow gorge (~ 5 feet wide). Eventually, the path leads to a bridge over a stream, and after that leads to Rivendell proper.
Of my troops, most of my siege engines are set up on the cliffs, overlooking the path and the gorge. Most of the rest of my troops are in the gorge or at the bridge.
I guess my only move would be: *My siege engines fire on your troops if/when the come in range*

OK, so over the path, is the cliffs? Awesome.
*In the Dead of Night, most of my archer goblins sneak towards the cliffs, climbing them sneakily.* this includes climbers, which do have a melee weapon. The Heavy Archers and Archer crews stay with the rest.
*The other units move closer, the trolls carrying the numerous bridges that they took from Goblin Town.*

OOC: Your main body of troops would almost certainly have some torches, in addition to being probably quite noisy. So yes, I would be able to see and hit them, assuming they're in range (which it sounds like they are, based on your move).

they're actually just outside of range, it so happens. Before, they were just entering the region, and now they're ready to take advantage of your siege weapons being disabled as quickly as possible. However, yes they'd have torches and be quite noisy, they're not trying the stealth approach.
*The Archers continue to sneakily climb, and (starting with the climbers) they begin to reach the top of the cliffs. Climbers use their swords, while the rest of the archers attack with their bows. They start targeting the scorpions, and one blows a horn.* *The Rest of the army advances the remaining distance required to be in range, ready to fire if needed.*

Well, my siege engines aren't exactly right above your troops. They're about as far back as the rest of my troops, but just on the cliffs. So if your troops are climbing the cliffs out of range of my troops, they'll have to then spend a turn moving before actually reaching my siege engines. So they're not disabled just yet.
*My siege engines, unaware of the approaching goblins, fire on your main body of troops, aiming especially at the trolls and tanks.*
*My troops move into formation, and my archers (and all siege engines that stayed below) also fire on your main body of troops when in range.*

one problem with that logic: My commander (let's name him General Huzak ) estimated the amount of time the Archers would need to disable the siege engines on the cliffs, and then used that to make sure they weren't in range until the archers were engaging your troops, but so they would move in to provide a distraction for the siege engines. If you want to change your moves because of it, then go ahead, if not:
*The Trolls use the bridges as barriers for the troops in front of them.* *All ranged units fire when within range.* *When your operators are smashed, the archers then turn your siege weapons against you.*
say. . . We never discussed what happens with captured Siege Weapons after a battle.

Upon seeing the name of General Huzak I felt a sudden attachment to him. Make sure he doesn't get smashed.
I want to see him fight another day. By himself. Against EE's whole Noldorin army.

I doubt General Huzak will be smashed, considering my plan results in very, very few casualties for my side.
And I'd say that I'd let General Huzak fight EE's whole Noldorin Army. . . After their are only 10 or 12 elves left in said army as they attempt to reconquer Rivendell.

It's hard to impossible for Orcs to fight Elves without taking moderate casualties. Just watch the Battle of the Last Alliance again.
10 or 12 (why 12?) Elves could beat an Orc. Just shoot him in the mouth when he starts ranting about how he's going to stick them like a pig.
{JAMMERS! -GOOD- ONLY!} So, emeraldeddie, where do you want these guys? I've got some more on the way if you want them, if you can tell me what you want.

hmm. . . You're right. I'll wait until those 10 or 12 Elves have been captured, and then let General Huzak fight them one on one in an arena, the elves have no weapons while the orc has 2.
