How on earth do the DASTS blast the entrance open? This is solid rock we're talking about. Unless I'm mistaken, their only siege weapons are scorpions, which are in no ways powerful enough to do that.
Anyways, guess I should prepare to see a lot of goblins.
I was thinking Armor Piercing bullets up at the top. I mean, if they can get through metal, then they should be able to go through rocks. Also, that's why it'll take 5 IRL days.
Whether or not they go through it, they're not going to blow it open, they'll just drill a bunch of holes. And I seriously doubt whether they could even do that, but I'll have to do a little research on it first. Or I could just call KK in here.

Heavily Armored Trolls. Which have flails. So I think they could do damage, even if it still takes a while. If you really need me to, I can change the Climbers to Sod Boxers, which dig holes a lot, and should be able to take on this task.

Exactly. Just like it takes weeks to build a fortress, or months to go from the Shire to Mordor. Time goes faster in this RP even out of Battle-Time, to keep everything fun and interesting.

It's Pony-sized, that's the only description we know. I'd say that, since it was a large cavern in the books, it is pretty thin to the side of the mountain. And they're basically bashing/digging or whatever they need to do to get through.
