"The goblins couldn't have known either, they where hidden in the tustedo. " "no they weren't. They were behind a line of Tanks, not hidden in a tustedo. " "No, my beornings were. "
My beornings where in a tustedo where they couldn't have been seen by the goblens.
So your arrchers where fireing into this and hitting them? Plus there wouldn't be any noticeabal difference from a beorning to a defender.
Your Skinchangers would be the obvious weak points in the Tustedo though. And the Defenders and Skinchangers have one big difference: Shields.
But the troops all around them have shields that would cover them and protect them. If you have a large engough tustedo, not every single memember needs to have their shields. Besides, they could borrow some.

You would need some pretty big shields to completely cover them if they don't have them. And who are they borrowing them from? also, I don't believe all of your troops even have them, therefore unless you brought extras, specifically stating so (which you didn't), then you wouldn't have enough shields even WITH the Skin Changers not having any, for everyone except your Skin Changers have them. Their is also the fact of the size of the lines. Their would be, at most, 20 in each line. in 2 or 3 lines, you can probably field. . . 15 Skin Changers in the first 2 or 3 lines.

Have you guys made any progress? Also, MM, I'm still waiting for you at Gundabad. You're obviously here, so soon I'll just have to proceed with my attack without you.
Anyways, back to why I'm really here. It really depends upon the size of the shields that you're using. If you have a proper testudo made of tower shields or at least scutum, the shields held above cover enough extra space that you could fit extra troops in between rows of those holding shields. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure what troops 8L has, or what shields they'd have with them. I found some sort of list a page or two back, but the guardians of the vale mentioned on it I couldn't find in the A&U list I found. However, it looked like only one other present unit of 8L's had shields, and they were merely bucklers, which aren't exactly enough for a testudo. So if 8L could bring up more details on his units. . .

All right. Well, their is still the fact that their will only be 15 or so in the first couple rows, which would drastically effect their efficiency in destroying the trolls. And, because their so closely knit, they wouldn't be able to jump over the tanks. Either they jump in human form and don't get enough force behind it, or they smash some of your defenders as they grow two or three times the size before jumping.

How wide is the pass here? In feet. There should be roughen room, that they can jump over the defenders and then change and jump at the trolls.

I don't know feet. I'm going off of previous RPing, where we decided that due to no concrete knowledge, 20 ranks can fit on the pass at once in the widest areas. And even if their is a hundred feet in front of them, the Skinchangers would still need to expose their human bodies before jumping or else the Defenders are pushed off. Even when they do do that, the Skinchangers still cannot attack the Trolls en masse unless they were the only ones charging, therefore relieving a number of Defenders their shields.
