Let me try again. *points wand at Hugh* STUPEFY! *nothing* I'm hopeless:(.
Okay *Tries not to get excited* *Is so focused on not being excited, points wand at the chandelier rather than Dig* STUPEFY! *Watches as it crashes to the floor.* Sorry. We're absolutely dreadful.
Um, yeah, is there any spell to fix that:S:P?
~l)~/\/~/-\~ The tie between real life and legos is imagination .
In a good way or a bad way? We're quite socialist, though no where near radical. Most, if not all Commonwealth members are the same. I know Britain and New Zealand are.
Pretty sure we were founded as a social democracy. We've since moved towards a liberal democracy. University used to be free in the 70's, i.e. paid for by the taxpayer (everyone who spends a cent) as most things still are.
No offense, but bad way. IDK, it just seems like your economy is horrible right now if you can't find ANY jobs. And it also is confusing why older people get paid more for the same work. All I know is that in the USA we have TONS of jobs all the time in most fields!
None taken, everyone's economy is horrible in one way or another right now, it's the GFC... Still.
There are a few reasons for our terrible economy. IMO - Red tape. So many rules and regulations which prevent people from starting a business. USA is ranked in the top 5 for ease of doing business. Australia is 15th. - Unions. Businesses need to pay the union to regulate them through OHS. They lobby higher wages for people who earn too much anyway. $80,000 p.a. to assemble a car. - Woeful governments. 5 Prime Ministers in 5 years, 5 rubbish budgets. We had $20B surplus prior to 2007 and a deficit of more than double that 5 years on. - GFC. This made the above a million times worse than what it would have been without the GFC.
In the case of our car industry. Who wants to hire expensive Australians to build their Holdens/Falcons when they can hire people from the USA? Holden was an Australian subbranch of GM while Falcon a subbranch of Ford. You'll build us Chevrolets/Fords and stick a different badge on it.
That $80,000 wage for an assembler is part of the problem. Not everyone wants to or can spent $60,000 for a sedan. Instead they bought a Hyundai sedan for a third of the price.
As for youth unemployment. I did mention the farmers before (that's a outback issue, not a national one) however, self-serve checkouts are "Riddikulus". There are maybe six in every store. That's a potential loss of six jobs. Not awesome jobs, but jobs just the same. Westfarmers (Australian grocery giant) scored a 9.2% profit increase after tax over a six month period during late 2014 to mid 2015. Funny how the union claims to look after jobs, they force grocery store workers to pay a $5 weekly fee, but they did nothing to save their jobs.
The thing with the governments is... We don't have anything new, if we're actually losing government funding. We have the same bills as prior to 2007 right now. Nothing is improving. I don't claim to understand a global economy, but these are some of the things I feel contribute to Australia's economy.

Meesa Back! What's going on? I would try to figure it out, but the colors are messed up for some reason, green and pink. Anyone know why?
April Fool's Day. Anyway, pair up with an imaginary student and start practicing Stupefy. If you want to know more about, just go back and find my post about it.
I honestly don't know what you're doing wrong. Maybe you're too over-excited and your wands are getting jumpy. Try focusing more on the spell itself and not doing so much foolish wand-waving. The motion is just as simple as pointing.
Let me try again. *points wand at Hugh* STUPEFY! *nothing* I'm hopeless:(.
No, no, you're saying it WRONG. It's "STOOP-i-fie," not "stoop-i-FIE."

*points wand at chandelier and floor* Reparo. *it repairs itself*

Aw, OK.
*attempts to cast Stupefy* "Stupefy!"
Tul Generas of the Orcs, Darthraxx of the dragon Knights. I RP, and have lots of fun.

Bit of rant, but that's Aussies for you.
That sounds like heaven compared to Greece or Cyprus (Where I live) or Venezuela (where I have friends from). In Cyprus minimum wage is 2$ 25% of ppl here and in Greece ive below the poverty line, youth unemployment is anywhere from 40% -50%. Income inequality is ridiculous. In 2013 the government took everyone money from the banks (not a joke) they took all your cahs if you held above 100k in the bank. The euro lost half of its value in just 14 years. Strikes are pretty frequent (all civil servants strike about twice a year).

I remember that happening. If we didn't have a proper social security in Australia, a lot of people would be living below the line here too. Greece and Cyprus is in huge debt to the World Bank, as are some other countries, there is more of this to come unfortunately. Everyone's bubble burst with the GFC and government were rubbish at handling it. Greece and Cyprus were the first to crack. I believe China falsified their economy to survive. Not that any economy is ever actually "real".

We'll get back up on our feet It only took two Prime Ministers (John and Paul) and 16 or so years to get us out of the black. We had the Olympics in 2000 and still managed to save the budget. Even today 2000 is still regarded as one of, if not the best summer Olympics games. It is considered "benchmark for the spirit of the Games, unquestionably". So we didn't do it on the cheap.
It can be done, we just need to stop the blame game, accept that we're in some trouble and elect a numbers man/women. So many places to make money, no one brave enough to have crack.
