I feel like we're destined for a tie. Well, the bad news happened, I got in a fender bender today.

Only if we both play with the goal of winning. Uh-oh, what happened?

Well I personally refuse to be bested in tic tac toe, it's a matter of professional pride. My car didn't stop in time, and thus I ruined two vehicles and two people's days. Quite unhappy with what happened, but can't go back and fix it and I wasn't doing anything wrong, just bad traffic.

Dang, so much for that plan.
That's very unfortunate. At least no one was hurt, it sounds like.
My eyes may be a bit less starry now, but I still don't have a problem with taking the position. At least, I've been there long enough that I may as well be in the role of "person who knows what they're doing." Someone's gotta do it.
Someone does indeed gotta do it, and it's better if it is someone who actually knows what they're doing. I'm sure they'll appreciate your service.
I certainly hope so. Next year I'll basically be getting the summer-camp equivalent of tenure; imagine if they fired me now.
Oh yeah, perhaps. I kind of wish more shows would go the LEGO Movie route and have everything (water, explosions, etc) made up of LEGO bricks.
True, true.
Ain't that the truth.
That is 100% the best way, but I'm still impressed that The LEGO Movie managed it, I didn't even know it could be done.
I've only seen it done well once or twice.
Definitely, The Lego Movie was incredible for it's time, and still is, to be fair. I can't believe it's been a little over ten years since it came out.
Growing up can be like that. A painful but necessary transition period. Uhhhh, financing, obscure history facts, and woodcrafting.
And yet I look back on it with such rose-tinted glasses. I'll add time-management to the list.
Most people do. I learned in one of my psych classes that apparently children grow up with a chemical compound that makes their experiences feel extremely safe and happy for a certain number of years. That's why even many childhood abuse survivors look back on most of their childhood memories with strong positive emotional connotations. ☝️ Excellent.
Honestly, yeah. There are some new formats that still appeal to the common user, but it's kinda fun having layers of internet culture weaved into this bizarre form of communication. It's weirdly nuanced.
I am afraid that I will soon be the stereotypical parent and become out of the loop, I had to stop CONsuming them due to their unfortunate tendency to include rather not child-friendly language.
Saaaaaame. I don't want to become a cringey boomer who doesn't get pop culture linguistics. (;- That's why I'm still trying to keep my eye on the trends and such. Hopefully I can stay in the loop for at least another decade.
Definitely. It's sad because I'll see him around and be like, "Aww, what a nice and sweet guy! .... I want to punch him."
What's your least favorite class you've ever taken, that you can remember?
Hopefully your pain will fade with time and eventually you'll see him and be like "Aww, what a nice and sweet guy! I hope he has a good day and has quit teaching painting."
Ooh tough question...I think I'll go with one of my philosophy classes. It was discussion-based, and a complete waste of time (this was my last three hours of the nine hours required my college and I was over it) so I sat in the back and read the homework during the class. I think I got a B+.
Give me like four years and I'll get there.
Oooof, those can really be hit-or-miss. Sitting in the back is always smart. Sometimes you end up with the obnoxious people, but if you're just looking to survive, it's practically like a cozy hidey-hole. Niiiice XD
Um, uh, when your child is being a brat, don't.., throw them out a window. Even if it one on the first floor, the child could hurt their head and get dumb, which would make them do not as good in school as they could be. ☝️
I'll save this for if they ask. I'm sure they'll be astounded by its profundity.
Oh, yeah, I call it the Pee-Pee: Practical & Profound™.
That adds up. I feel like a fake literary fan by admitting I don't really enjoy reading his books, but man.
Don't worry it's not you, they're just bad.
You know about digital footprints, right? Some psycho-literary fan will hear of this and track you down because you blabbed on the bargain-bin Lego site.
Exactly. Do you ever think about all the phrases, jokes, and ideas you switch around depending on the people you're around and wonder how much of those things are intrinsically related to your personality? Like- how much are you actually shaping and re-shaping bits of your personality for the sake of connecting other people?
That's an interesting thought. I really have to tailor things to certain groups because they just won't really get it.
I was on a voice call on Another Platform the other night in a big group chat and there happens to be another LMB veteran in there with me.
The perfect opportunity came up to say "I like Frodo how's yours?" And we found out after the call we were both thinking it but didn't want to seem weird.
Oh no way, that's rad xDD You should've, that would have been perfect! It's so fun existing IRL with other LMB veterans and just.., sharing that sub-culture and knowing we share that sub-culture. It's such a bizarre experience on its own.
