*Shamrock Industries uses corporate lobbying to make the government pass an oddly specific law, making it illegal for anyone with an account on this website to own mannequin hands*
*Boom Enterprises counter lobbies to add a mannequin hand license that applies retro actively into the law*
*Shamrock Industries is unable to stop this but adds a clause saying your mannequin hand must be superglued to the top of a sombrero that you are obliged to wear at all times, making it very difficult for you to see the hand*
(Caveated by the 'in the summer' part, I can live with that statement )
January hasn't been great, I got chicken pox (they're not kidding when they say it's worse in adults ) and couldn't do anything for two weeks. The last few days have been ok though, and I get to do fire extinguiser training at work next week which is kinda cool.
(It's almost summer all year here so... )
Oof, sorry you got chickenpox. Ooh that's cool, almost a firefighter.
(That I cannot live with, why does somewhere like that exist?? How are humans supposed to survive in such cruel heat??? )
yeah, it;s not fun. yeah, I got to put out a pretty impressive test fire.
Intellectual Property. Faber can't do anything with Bionicle anymore because he doesn't own the rights, although he still posts about it because Lego is cool about copyright. He's actually about to drop a behind-the-scenes video on the development of Hero Factory which is pretty cool. His end goal is to be able to make his own thing again though, hence the need for a new IP.
Ohhh okay Cool That sounds like fun! My brother has some Bionical stuff, and I think it was a pretty neat line
It's probably among the top 3 lego themes of all time tbh.
I can't believe I had the same awful signature for nearly 8 years. Sorry for disappearing for 2 months, life happened for a bit.
You never know, they could just be missing from the archaeological record and secretly the first generation of Egyptians wore them before some weirdo decided those giant headdress things were cooler.
Imagine we uncover the earliest hieroglyphics and there's just a sombrero there.
It wasn't aliens after all. It was the time-travelling descendants of the Sombrero Club.

There is something about having your parents purchase you Bionicle in years past, and in present day now purchasing the remaining figures of a team yourself.
Yeah no, we'll all have more than enough time to be Adulty in a few years, so let's all make the most of the time we have now. That's partly why I haven't tried to get any summer jobs yet, because I'm aware that this is one of two years left in which I have the privilege of summer vacation, and I don't want to squander that privilege if I don't have to. I definitely support being a "kid" for as long as you can.
Girl saaaammmee @,@ Runaway road trips sound both terrifying and wonderful, and I'd love to be able to do something like that with some of my dearest friends. Though come to think of it-- do you remember some of the older users here, years ago? King and Essa? They haven't been active here for several years, so it's fine if not. This summer my brother Mock and I flew to Texas, where the four of us pooled our money together to rent out a cabin on a lake for a week and hung out together. That was an absolute dream come true
Oh gosh, I can imagine... ( Ó,Ō') I'd be interested in researching that kind of thing sometime; the psychological development of children growing up in households like that. Based on my young adult peers who come from similar backgrounds, the results can vary wildly from Permanent-Pushover Therapist Friend to Actual Sociopath.
Awww I'd love that, that'd be amazing!! Imagine us as 30-40-old women in the writers' room, butting heads over creative differences XDD
Oof. XD Oh reeeaaallllly I bet you could still share it here! I've seen stories that don't seem to reference LEGO a lot, so it shouldn't be a problem. If someone says something you can say the characters are LEGO mini-figs, and who can stop you then.
Thank you, thank you (UvU) I do hope you'll be able to find more friends who share similar interests as you, it really is a lovely experience.
Aw, man, sorry I never replied! I kept thinking I did, for some reason. Yeah, absolutely!
Oh, yeah, I remember Essa, and I vaguely remember King. That sounds awesome! That must have been so cool to finally meet them irl!
Yeah, that'd be interesting to research, especially since it can affect people so differently.
Oh, yeah, that'd be so fun XD
You're welcome! Yeah, I really hope so, it'd be wonderful ^.^
Lol no worries! At this point it's a personal compliment if someone comes back to this site to reply to old posts.
It was! 10/10, definitely recommend. XD
How've you been lately? Did you have a good Christmas and New Years'? Any news since our last chat?
